the resort itself is not that bad but I am that traumatised by my stay at La Luna beach that I will never go back to this resort again!!

I have been to Turkey on 8 previous occasions first time in Gumbet – found the prices much higher than my previous times roughly £2.25 a pint, a short with mixer £3.50, steak meal £11.
Avoid the flower sellers on the beach offering free roses – I politely declined but saw many people falling for the “free rose” to be than harassed for a donation but they wouldn’t let you go till you pay what they wanted.
Most restaurants very similar menu’s – would recommend the Columbia & Windy Bay – steak & chicken came on a red hot sizzling platter (the only problem was my medium rare steaks cook to “well done” while you’re eating them!!) Red Dragon good.. But far too much choice on the menu from Indian, Chinese, Mexican, plus many... many more, really good mezes though.

The resort had no Turkey characteristics. There is a considerable amount of hassle from cafes and shops. All menus are typically british with english breakfast. The beach is poor. A walk to Bodrum is pleasant and the marina at Bodrum is a nice area.

we have been to icmeler a few times and decided to try gumbet for a change and we were really sorry we did. gumbet is a lovely place but we just preferred icmeler.beach is quite small and really nice, not too much hassle walking round the shops and that. i would reccomend going to the market on saturday as it was really cheap and we got loads of good stuff there. you can either book a guided tour at the sellers for £4 each or get on a dolmus(2 lira each) into bodrum and the another dolmus(3.20 each)to the market. thats what we done, but it depends on how comfortable you are getting around on your own.we went on a daytrip to dalyan mudbaths and we loved it, it was a really long day but enjoyed ourselves. gumbet in september was full of russians,we were the only british on our daytrip, which is unusual as in icmeler everyone was british, but it didnt affect us having a good time.most of the restaurants were all of the same, but there is so much competition there that everyone was trying to offer a better deal than the last so dont just go in the first one you come across. we had a really nice meal at the lotus chinese next to burger king and our 1st drinks were free so it was quite reasonable.it was a really clean place and one of the good things was that the dolmus to bodrum ran for 24 hours a day and the marina was gorgeous in bodrum, so its worth going for a look round.

The resort of Gumbet was clean and there is a good number of shops to browse around. You would never go thirsty, as there are plenty of bars! The beach is quite narrow, but is very clean.
We found the local people to be very friendly.
I would visit this resort again, and am hoping too next year!!

The nightlife around the Bay was excellent with breakdancers, bellydancers with snakes, eleastic man, brazillian nights, Russian dancers, karioke bars best action was at the Sami Bar and the Cozzy Bar. We went up to Bar Street one night but was very hot and sticky whereas entertainment around the bay caught the sea breeze and everything open air.

Boat trip is highly recommended as is the waterpark, Turkish Bath is a must and so is the massage, We also went Horse Riding and the drive to the centre was more hairy than the horse riding. A trip to the Oasis shopping centre is great if you have a wet day as there is plenty to do there and can recommend the Chinese buffet, the men played snooker whilst the girl shopped. Bodrum is well worth a visit as is Torba if you are looking for a chill out day away fron the noise and hustle and bustle of Gumbet..

gubet is a nice resort. but expect to be hassled all day to either eat , drink, buy from shops.the beach is shingle and narrow.expect to pay from 8TL for a pint of effes to whatever they feel like charging.do not buy anything without knowing the price first.bodrum airport we were were charged 39TL (ABOUT £17.50)for a can of coke plus 2 cheese sandwiches.good food to be had was sandys bar just down from windmill.
