We have just returned from a two week stay in the Planos Apartments Tsilivi. From the first impression it looked lovely but it all went wrong soon after. We found the owners to be unfriendly and not very welcoming. The apartments were clean and could not be faulted on that score but I have to say that on one ocassion we found a broken bottle near our sunloungers,we reported this and nothing happened so after spotting the holiday rep I reported it,she then reported it to the reception who after fifteen minutes did nothing so the rep cleaned it up personally, apparently the bottle had been there over an hour and had been reported by someone else but obviously nothing had been done. The steps to the pool were loose and actually swung from side to side as you used them, the wrought iron work on and along the balconies wobbled.
It felt as though unless you were prepared to spend all day at the pool bar they weren't prepared to acknowledge you.
The evening entertainment is held indoors for some strange reason as the apartments seem to have a lot of wasted space in my opinion.
The pool was absolutely freezing,so much so that people only seemed to enter it around three in the afternoon and then when you got out you were dithering. The tiles around the edge are extremely sharp and some of the floor tiles around the pool are cracked,crumbling and loose.
The lamps around the pool area are all loose.
The layout of the apartments is stupid and very dangerous. We had to move one of the beds as you could not open the fridge, dont go with the intention of actually trying to use any of the self catering appliances the grill/oven is in a cupboard under the sink and only succeeds in cooking the cupboard around it rather than the food in it. so I tried the sandwich maker but upon opening it I found it to be absolutely filthy.
The showers are too small dangerous and useless.

We found Planos Bay a fantastic family holiday complex.
The location of the hotel is ideal away from the hustle and bustle of the main Tsilivi town but near enough if you want to venture in, not that we did much found a great restaurant opposite called Stamnes fantastic food and service, and a lovely bar down the road called Kaliva. The staff was great Adam,Ellie.
Michael and Amy worked their socks off to entertain throughout the day and night. The evening entertainment was very repetitive but they did have some outside acts on which was very good and plenty more people stayed at the hotel on them nights.
We found the accomodation very good for greece and was impressed with the kitchen facilities compared to other holidays in the greek Ilses. Now finally to the first choice kids reps a huge thankyou the best kids clubs we have had, especially impressed with the wavelength and the extra activities they did maybe for a few euros more but well worth it our 9yr old loved it and Mad Mike and Loopy lindsey were excellent with them.

Just returned from Planos Bay, and we had an excellent time. We stayed on B & B basis, and I wouldn't recommend it, the food at the snack bar at breakfast time was awful it had no taste.
We ended up either just having coffee and toast, or going next door for breakfast at the restaurant and having a full English breakfast, which was far nicer...
The hotel location was great far enough away from the bars to get peace and quiet at night. The staff at the hotel were great, they really did get everyone going during the day with all the activities they planned and also in the evening, although some nights were hit and miss not enough people stayed in the hotel for the bingo, or music competitions.
We would definitely go back to this hotel, my daughter and son loved it .

This hotel surpassed our expectations for Greece!
The kitchen was well equipped with all you would need including a sandwich toaster! All the appliances were very clean. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the maids even put our stuff away rather than just cleaning around it. There were 9 of us travelling in our party and all of us were surprised at the standard of the rooms (we holiday 3 times a year so we have lots to compare it with)
The poolside snack bar was really good for lunches and drinks.
The location was great just a 10 minute walk into the town. the kids club was excellent (sometimes 3 times a day) our daughter is 6 and wouldn't miss it!
We would definitely go back and are planning on going next year. English restaurant The Troc has meat pie to die for and the owner and staffs customer service were next to none wish we had eaten there earlier in the holiday - food without chips!

Rooms were cleaned daily and new towels every 3 days. Staff were helpful and friendly. Travelled with 2 boys, 9 & 6, and they loved the kids club and the kids club reps.
Location is ideal for families. Plenty of good restaurants nearby with excellent food.
Night time entertainment is very hot and miss, 3 nights are good outside entertainment and the other 4 consist of bingo and other games (need to get a good crowd in bar for these to work), the 3 entertainment staff do their best and are very friendly, but it just doesn't hit the spot.
Location is ideal for families. Plenty of good restaurants nearby with excellent food.

Our first family holiday abroad and WOW what a great first choice,from the moment we arrived the Reception staff were helpful and the rooms and Hotel were very clean.
The poolside snack bar served a good variety of food(and Beer!)all day long,and the pool itself was ideal for Adults and children,with good fun games provided by Amy,Ellie,Adam and Mickey(The entertainment team).
The location is just on the outskirts of Tsivili and perfect for the beach,bars and restaurants with plenty of places to hire a car or book days out.
We all loved our 2 week stay and are already looking at booking again for next year, even though we have not been anywhere else! That has to say something about how good it is.

Just returned from the Planos Bay apartments, and cant really say how disappointed I was!
Didnt find the rooms the cleanest ive ever stayed in, and had to clean them before unpacking anything! The pool area was clean, although VERY slipy....lots of little ones fell and hurt themselves.
The kids club reps were fantastic, as were the kids clubs themselves.
Unfortunately, the evening entertainment in the hotel wasnt up to much at all...not sure if this was because we were there early in the season or not.

This is the second year running we have gone to Planos Bay - it is fantastic for families. We thought the rooms were very clean and got cleaned everyday.
the location is great, not right in the centre so it's not noisy at nights, but close enough to have a stroll out.
The staff at the hotel, the entertainment team and the First Choice reps were brill, they will do anything they can for you, the entertainment that was on was good, there just weren't enough people to have a good atmosphere, but there are plenty of family bars near by.
I would recommend this to families with young children, the kids clubs are every day and the reps were the best I've come across.

Zante is a beautiful island but the airport is a nightmare it stinks and is filthy. We had a7 hour flight delay on the way home.
Planos bay apartments were not bad if you could live with the smell of urine. The resort itself is great plenty of good places to eat plenty of bars very reasonable prices.
Would go to Zante again when they have sorted out the airport but not to the Planos bay.
