Enjoyed being between Hammamet and Yasmine . Near the beach, bars and restaurants. Beautiful beaches.

Resort was interesting very different culture, we loved the spices and goods on offer, taxi drivers are cheap but like a lot of foreign taxis you need to shut your eyes and pray while they drive!! As we were on an all inclusive holiday we didnt try any restaurants so I cant comment on them really but they looked good.

Hammamet is very quiet and would not perhaps suit younger people. Its clean and the people are very nice.
Beaches are lovely also clean.
Have been to Hammamet four times now over the last 6 years and will be going to Djerba in April. So after that I think I will be all Tunisiad out!

hammamet is split into 2 parts, the old town and medina and the newer more affluent yasmine hammamet. the hotel les cittroniers is ideally situated in between both.
a taxi to either will cost you less than 2 pound.
for anyone who has not experienced shopping in tunisia you will find the old medina quite daunting at first, but a must for your holiday. i would suggest that you first try the new medina in yasmine, you will find the tactics used by the shop owners although overbearing for the newcomer much less so than the old medina. use it to hone your bartering skills, you will need them to buy almost everything you need to buy!
you will be approached by everyone trying to sell you something wherever you go, but remember this is a poor country and they are only trying to scrape a living, the average wage is under 2k a year.
enjoy the experience and remember its north africa, not europe. and who knows i may see you there because i cant wait to get back!!!!

Lots of places to eat and the food was superb, plenty of choice and the puddings are the cause of my diet now!!!

The beach was fantastic and cleaned every morning and night. The staff in the ice cream shack were great and kept the children in a constant supply of cold drinks and ices.

You were not bothered on the beach by any hawkers or anything..just total relaxation! No litter or mess anywhere.

The children had a great time and I will definitely like to go back, what a wonderful first time experience..felt safe and confident with my family. you must go.. they are so lovely there! Tunisia you rock!

No there is not alot i can stay about this resort as having a young child we didnt really do alot. The entertainment wasnt bad, the zoo and african trip is quite good although make sure you eat well before you go as you dont get much to eat there believe you me ( despite what you pay )
The actual streets were very clean, and al the locals are desparate to get yo into there shop, and a firm NO doesnt always do it, so its best to jsut try to avoid contact. The beach isnt bad alhtough we found that 2 of the beach bars had almost completely ran out of drinks !!!.
I wouldnt visit this resort again though as im sure that there are far better places to go to. Unfortunately i did not enjoy this holiday very much at all.

The resort is excellent for people requring a peaceful holday in contrast to the normal European noisy destinations. The best plus about this place is that people have great fun without getting drunk! The arab crowd is very lively. This is a resort that is not "dead" by any means. Hammamet 4 -5 miles away is much noisier.

THe beach is fantastic as are all beaches in Tunisia. I visited Sousse, Skanes, PEK, Monastir...all beaches were great.

Travellers be wary that prices by UK standard are quite low but by local standards very high! One can go two miles out of Yasmine and pay a third of a Dinar for an Ice Cream which costs around 2 dinard (6 times the price). Compared with our newsagent who on average make 25%..the tourist food shops make around 400-600% ! Those travelling on low budgets can survive on £5 per day per person with a bit of difficuly but it can be done!

For those of you who need to know about local activities, please see my Melia Flora Park Boutique Hotel report. I certainly picked up lots of tips from this forum and hope my tips help you all have a great holiday!

Those of you who like the Jasmine Fragrance at night...keep sniffing... the frangrances are great around the whole resort !

enjoy!!!

Excellent beach security always on beach no hassle from sellers, entertainment good for kids, not a lot directly out of hotel, although a cheap taxi ride away.
