Just returned from a week in the Ayra Apartments and all I can say is don't believe everything you read. Before travelling I read some bad reviews about this hotel and was expecting the worst whenwe arrived.

However we were pleasantly surprised when we were shown our room. we had two bedrooms with two beds plus another sora bed in the living room and had loads of room. The hotelm rooms are small so I would recomment going self-catering.

The maid came everyday and was very freindly and allways had a smile for us. The pool was one of the cleanest we have seen and is cleaned daily.

One word of advice is that DON'T have a Turkish massage, the bloke was a creep and will try it on with men and women he must have took an instant disliking to me and my boyfriend because he bullied us from the start but we talked to lots of people who thought it was fine.

Been to Gumbet over a dozen times, this was worst accommodation.

Room to sleep three, pokey and dark. asked rep to move to 2 bed apt as only 2 beds and a sofa in one bed apartment.

Rep found larger apartment but made us pay for upgrade even though out of season and loads of rooms. Had another friend staying in resort in nearby hotel who was travelling alone, she was made to feel as if tresspassing and even had to bring along details of her hotel and package receipt!

I felt that this hotel and Direct holidays were very money grabbing, suspicious to the point of intimidating. the upgraded apartment was by a back door surrounded by black bin bags of rubbish this was the view we had every time we entered and left the apartment and were asked for money for upgrade.

This hotel cares nothing for its residents, just

Went back to Arya for the 5th time and can honestly say it will be the last.

We found that a lot had changed within a year all the good staff had left and entertainment had become non exsistant.

The so called dj played the same music over and over again, there was no atmosphere at all and the new staff were very arrogant who pressurise you to eat in the restaurant and if you dont they dont want to know you.

The only thing they were interested in was your money which was never the case before. Martin on reception and maintance was the only one who was willing to bend over backwards for you and it was never a problem.

The young boys in both the hairdressers and the Arya shop where friendlier than the actual hotel staff. Former staff member Brave whom we have known for years has now moved on to another hotel where we met up with him. The welcome he gave us was better than the fortnight we had in Arya. Pino who we met for the first time made it a night to remember the entertainment put on for us put Arya to shame.

If we were ever to go back to Gumbet which we doubt very much we would be visiting the hotel.

We arrived at the Arya Hotel in the early hours of the morning, where we were greeted by the hotel staff who checked us out!...I mean in, and kindly carried our cases upto our room.

Our room: small, but clean upon arrival.

Pool: good size, cleaned daily.

Restaurant: excellent food, we ate there a few times during the week and couldn't fault it and it was reasonably priced.

Bar: we usually drank in the bar before/after going to Bar Street. Drinks were reasonably priced and very pleasant atmosphere. Staff were happy to serve us no matter what the time! However, in the early hours of the morning the bar was very quiet, so not to disturb the other residents. Music needed updating though and was quite repetitive!

Staff: very friendly and quite entertaining most of the time....when we weren't winding them up that is!!! Had lots of laughs with Sedat, Ali, Cash, Abdul, Alun & Ahmet.

Would we go back to Arya?: Yes, think we'll go next year. We had a great laugh!

Arriving in the early hours we were greeted and shown to our rooms by the VERY friendly staff!

Then went for a few drinks in the bar which they didn't mind at all.

Room was fine as we didn't spend that much time in it. Food in the restaurant was good, and drinks in the bar were much cheaper than up on Bar Street.

The staff were wonderful....very friendly and chatty. Especially had a laugh with Alan, Ahmet, Cash, Sedat, Abdul and Ali.

Entertainment not very thrilling but enjoyed just sitting, drinking and chatting. Would go back to Arya as we had a laugh!!

Staff friendly great with all our kids! Ali was the best! Martin great and very helpful whenever you needed him often seen with a baby in arms from a customer eating at restaurant he loves babies bless.

Pool cleaned daily and inspected throughout the day.

Sedat needs to mingle more not just with the young ladies ha. We got on great with all the staff and when our family joined us they were made welcome too just mention big bubba they love our Rolf! Toby(son) had pic he drew put behind the bar and we are told it still there.

Wanted to go back this year but no room when we wanted to go so say hi from us this place is great!

The cleaners work all day say hello and they smile and chatter away we left them all our change and one cried.

I will return here soon!

We arrived at the reception at about 3;30 monday 4th july the staff couldn't have helped enough three men came running to carry our cases up to our room which was at the back of the building.

The room was very small considering it was supposed to sleep 6 the kitchen contained two ceramic cooking rings and a fridge!! Not the self catering equipment we are used to.

The balcony overlooked the pool which looked lovely but small and deep so beware if you take youmg children remember the armbands.

Staff very friendly and welcoming Abdul offered us a turkish bath while our kids went in the pool it was fantastic and after an oil massage with Byram.

Cleanliness left alot to be desired our beds were changed once during our weeklong stay and the floor never mopped once, there was also an overwhelming smell of sewerage all day everywhere.

The pool was cleaned every night at 7 by Sedat a lovely bloke and then rechecked by Martin who was very vigilant about rubbish in the pool.

The food in the restaurant was good but be specific when you order.

The entertainment was the same every night same music played every night on a loop.

The hairdressers next to hotel marvellous and the laundry.
A big thankyou to Canup hotel manager he was ace and to Sedat and Alan and Abdul, especially to ZoZo he taught my 7 yr old daughter to overcome her fear of going underwater he was very patient and he was wonderful am keeping in touch with him..

Would go back maybe!

Myself, my husband and teenage daughter spent two weeks at the Ayra and had a fantastic time.

I feel this was mostly due to the staff working there. We loved Ali and Alan who took real good care of us and the rest who kept us entertained. They were all great guys and we miss them.

The food was the best which was verified by our friends who we had invited over for the night from another hotel.

Pool was great with lots of atmosphere and clean. We are already checking out bookings for next year.

We arrived at 2am on Tuesday 19th July and had a Cocktail within minutes I was happy already.

My holiday in Arya Apartments was brilliant the Hotel was class from start to end.

The food in the Pool Bar/Restaurant was lovely I especially loved the pizzas.

More importantly the location was the best 2 minutes walk from the beach in one direction and 5 minutes from the main 'Bar Street' and shops in the other direction.

But most of all I loved the staff in this facility they where kind, helpful and very friendly. I had so much fun at Arya Apartments and would go back in the morning. Sedat was a lovely fella who worked there and had the group of us in stitches everyday.

The entertainment was more mellow (except for the Turkish Night). We normally sat round the bar and had a load a drinks with Sedat and then headed to Bar Street and when we returned the bar was still opened but it was very quiet so if your looking to go to bed early not to worry about that.
