I stayed in the hotel in June last year with my younger sister - her first time abroad without the parents! As it was a last minute deal we expected a grotty hotel miles away from the beach but what we got couldn't have been better.

The hotel was on the beach front, perfect for lazy days and with beautiful views at meal times. It's location was ideal, so close to the bars, shops and restaurants.

We stayed half board, breakfast was fine, but the evening meal could have been better. As we tended to eat towards the end of service it was a case of eating what was left. My sister (a typically British eater - chips!), wasn't fond of the food. But saying that there were cheap restaurants all around which we tried on a number of evenings.

Service from staff was good, were very helpful when the key to our room wouldn't work! If you do a 2 day trip anywhere ask the hotel for a packed breakfast - very handy when on a bus and hungover from the night before!

Regarding the entertainment we went out every evening so hard to comment - but there was something different everyday.

Would definitely stay in the hotel again.

The Parkim Palace is right in the centre of Gumbet and the hotel backs onto the beach. It is ideally placed for the Dolmus into Bodrum and is a clean well appointed hotel.

The rooms are of a good size with a large mirrored wardrobe, nice bathrooms with a very efficient hairdryer and shower. The rooms have small balconies with just enough room for two chairs and a small table.

The gardens are well maintained and have sunbeds and hammocks away from the pool. The pool is of a good size with awnings and umbrellas; although we went peak weeks we never had a problem getting sunbeds or shade.

We were bed and breakfast which was a typical Turkish breakfast but we did hear many complaints about the evening meals. The hotel has a few restaurants attached to it and beach bars but there are so many restaurants and snack bars around, all good value as always in Turkey.

Although there were some English the second week for the first week we seemed to be the only English there as it was mainly German, Russian and Dutch in this hotel.
For this reason I would not stay in this hotel again and I would prefer to try the Baba or the Sami Beach.
