The hotel was clean and bright, it is cleansed on a continuous basis. The room was cleaned daily, also the towels were changed daily. A request for an extra pillow was dealt with immediately. The fridge was a boon, as we kept our soft drinks in it during the very hot weather we were so lucky to have, during our two week stay. The air conditioning worked a treat.
We were on a half board basis, we had breakfast every morning but we didn't always get back for evening meals, so occasionally we ate out. The hotel food was varied, plentiful and fresh. It was served at an acceptable temperature, the staff were effectively organised to deliver a good standard of service.
Regarding entertainment we did not see or were aware of any. We did not stay in the hotel for entertainment, we went out every evening to the likes of the Condor Bar etc. The hotel is centrally located but is surprisingly quiet at night. It is a very short distance to the central bus station across the main road, where at the No 1 bus stop you can get the bus to Pomorie (3Lev), Bourgas (5Lev). We have visited
Bulgaria many times and would recommend this hotel. It compares very well to other four star rated Bulgarian hotels we have stayed in.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Mena Palace. Got to say, having never been to Bulgaria before and never been to a hotel with our kids for a holiday (always done self catering since we had kids) I was a bit apprehensive. I needn

What can I say about this hotel, Rooms are lovely, well maintained and very clean, no bath just shower, TV only has two english speaking channels, the others are German or Bulgarian. The hotels food is not great by any stretch of the imagination (might be good for bulgaira) same food for four days running- Veal in some kind of sauce, Chicken in some kind of sauce and pork in erm some kind of sauce! Breakfast consists of German sausage eggs and more german sausage.

Just back from Mena palace, hotel itself was really nice and clean, the staff were terrific really friendly would do anything to help. The resident doctor is spot on had to visit him with my daughter really first class. The food is terrible, my kids lived on chips and ice cream for 2 wks, my husband stopped going for dinners after the fourth night said it wasn`t worth the bother. Sunny beach was lovely apart from the food, enjoyed my stay but no entertainment for kids at night which was a down side but kids adapt easily.

Hotel rooms spacious and very clean, maid came every day even if we said we did not need her. Clean towels everyday too.
Pool area kept clean and plenty of sunbeds.

The food was the worst part. It was really dismal!!!
Some dishes were not too bad and the rest was terrible. Kids are not really catered for. I ate more chips on the 2 weeks I was there that I do in a year coz there wasn't much else.
The dining room is open from 6pm till 8pm for dinner but if you leave it much later than 7pm there is not much left to choose from apart from chips!! and even then if the chef is willing to cook more. Someone challenged him one night and he just shrugged his shoulders as if to say "so what". (The time was 7.05pm)
Breakfast was the same everyday and be prepared to queue at the coffee machine!!
And by the way all the crockery is chipped!!

Needless to say we ate out more than we had anticipated.

Location I feel would be one of the quieter bits of Sunny Beach and once the balcony door was closed at night there was no sound to be heard.
Hotel staff very friendly and very attentive.(Apart from the chef!) Beach not far away. Sunny beach a very, very busy resort

Entertainment - It too was dismal!
Woman on keyboard
Guy on guitar - sang the same routine everynight, very cheesy songs, more for the much older generation,
Therefore Bar was almost empty every night.

I can't fault the hotel staff, rooms and location. The only thing that let it down was the food.
Yes, there are plenty of places to eat but look around as not all are as cheap as you think.
Bistro Lilia just across the road from hotel is really reasonable and staff are great. We wouldn't go to this hotel again as we did not like the resort. Far too busy.

Balkan holiday reps and other staff were very good.
We are not boring fuddy duddies, there is just so much you can take of the same stuff thrown at you and we had just had enough after 1 week.

The hotel was extremely clean. With maids working everyday except a Sunday. Clean towels were provided on a regular basis.
The food was edible but not ideal for fussy eaters or children. The soup was great, the dessert was a choice of ice cream and there was a good variety of cakes.
The hotel was located in the centre of Sunny Beach just an 8 minute walk to get to the main strip and a 5 minute walk to get to the beach.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful especially Mony who helped us with our cases.
The pools were very clean but very deep. The life guard sits at he pool side incase of any accidents.
There was a man and woman who played the keyboard and sang but every night it was the same music [ not to my taste ]
There was a bar attached to the hotel which had lovely staff esecially Evo who brung a great atmosphere to the bar.

lovely hotel spotless clean and only 7 mins walk to the main nightlife, hotel fabulous location with huge pool and first class air condition, beach is very near turn left of mena and straight on wil see wooden walk way on to beachtime 4 mins.
Some of the big hotels on the sea front, same star as the mena palace which has 151 rooms compared to their 1 to 1.000 rooms had smaller pools resulting in no chance of sunbeds and mena has huge pool with spotless clean sunbeds readily available at all times, not very good for non swimmers as shallow end 5ft 3in but childrens pool ideal for non swimmers to cool off, staff very friendly and meals some complaints from people before we arrived but lots of choices from them on, pool view a must if not going out all day. Went on jeep safari all day trip 3 jeeps we were lucky to have jeep without the covering as others were covered, I think with 4 of us being scots were put in uncovered jeep as used to rough weather but dont be afraid to ask for the canopy be taken off as you see far more of the counryside of bulgaria, some stops of wonderfull views are out of this world, stops for refreshments and kind of zoo with huge ostrich and family etc.

Having never been to Bulgaria before we didn't know what to expect. Our party consisted of myself, my husband, our 2 year old daughter and my parents-in-law.

We arrived in the Mena Palace mid afternoon and were shown to a very spacious room at the front of the hotel on the 4th floor. Although the road was busy enough the traffic noise wasn't too bad and once the door was shut there was virtually no noise at all. We had a nice view of the mountains in the distance.

The room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. The only downside to the room was that the bathroom floor became extremely slippy when it was wet so be sure to use a towel on the floor.

The food in the hotel was varied each evening albeit in the same styles but different sauces on the meats and there was always something for everyone. There was a vast range of ice creams and always fresh fruit available. The waitresses were very good especially Veni who took a shine to our daughter.

There was a lovely little playground which our daughter very much enjoyed.

The beach was 5 mins walk and 7-8 mins to the main "strip".

We would recommend "Las Palmas" for lunch which was en-route to the beach. Approx 35leva (

This hotel was in a great location in a busy enough area but not to noisy and only 5 minute walk to the main strip and just 3 minutes to the beach.
There was not much entertainment in the hotel however there is plenty to do outwith the hotel so this was not a big problem. Also there is alot of excurtions to choose from we would recomend The Lazy Day Cruise and Khans Tent both excellent.
All staff in the hotel were really friendly and helpful and that goes for the rep as well. On our first week we got our bag stolen on the beach and the hotel staff moved us rooms for safety and the rep helped us with the police.
The only one thing that we were dissapointed in was the lack of sunbeds as it was almost impossible to get one, however this would not put us off going back to this hotel it made for a most enjoyable holiday.

Hi there!Got back from my holiday in Sunny Beach in Mena Palace hotel.I loved every minute of it.Booked already to go back to the same place next year.People say there's not entertainment in the hotel but that's everywhere in Sunny Beach-most hotels have no entertainment.Me and my family found one-Evo the man that runs the bar on the street side of the hotel. Some man.His sense of humor is second to none. He's got sky sports as well so that's ideal for any kind of sport on TV.And another think-the lobby bar might look a bit cheaper but you get smaller measures for the alcohol.Hope everyone enjoy it as much as I did.
