After reading some of the reviews before we went made us a litle concerned. I'm happy to say it was not as bad as some say. This is our first visit to the Flamingo Oasis, its clean, its friendly, the food is what you would expect, with some nice extras such as the carved ham and roast beef which was lovely, there was always something we liked. The lifts are a nightmare. We were on level 6 and one night all 8 of us (4 adults, 4 kids, 2 pushchairs) were in the lift for 20 mins trying to get to our evening meal, we went up to floor 24 and then stopped on almost every floor on the way back down before we got to the ground floor. Not great! The kids entertainers were good, but unfortunatley the rest of it was rubbish, and very very loud when your room is overlooking the pool area and its blasting out untill gone midnight. Hens and Stags did not bother us atall. There was a mad rush for sunbeds at 8.30 every morning which if you wanted a half decent spot you have be a part of , they were also very tightly packed in which made getting a pushchair through a militay operation. The pool area also seemed to be very slippery especially for our toddlers.
To sum up, we had a lovely holiday and would proberly visit the Flamingo Oasis again.

We arrived at the hotel early hours of Monday 15th June after a great flight and smooth transfer checking in was quick and we were allocated a low floor (fourth) as requested. However our temporary key card did not work and after help feom security we did eventually get into our room hlf an hour later feeling very hot and jaded. The security man was helpful despite not speaking any english.
This is my second visit to the hotel he first being in january 2008.
The hotel is immaculate, it is well managed in all areas, the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and the balcony is also large. towels were changed daily and the bedsand pillows are very comfortable.Entertainment is great the animation team worked really hard and lookedas if they really enjoyed their work. The shows were very professional other entertainers that came in were also ghood.
Food was lovely and plentiful, although I felt that cheaper cuts of meat were used more frequently. However this was always nice. I found. the wine and cava and beer to be great spirits were weak.

third time in this hotel and though the cleanliness and quality of food are of the same high standard in general i think standards are starting to slip.alas like most of benidorm groups of stags and hens are starting to use this hotel and i feel as this was primarily a hotel for families and couples the influx of groups of singles detracts from the hotels appeal.in addition the roof top adults only pool, bar and terrace are now out of bounds for visitors, this acerbates the problem of there being a shortage of sun beds around the pool area and this is a situation that can only get worse in high season, entertainment ranges from average to good and is geared towards families with young kids with the odd adult only show thrown in,drinks are of the usual all inclusive low strength variety but bearing in mind the stags and hens this is probaly no bad thing,to summarise had a good time probaly due to my 12 year old daughter meeting lots of friends and having a ball but would still have to think twice about another repeat visit

After reading some of the reviews before we travelled to Flamingo oasis we were slightly aprehensive about our holiday. We found the hotel to be excellent very clean, always something you could eat and most of the time it was very good (we travelled with a 5 year old and 15month old), location was good if you enjoy a good walk to get your dinner down, most of the staff were pleasant although one member of reception staff was a bit abrupt on occasions, the outside entertainment was excellent the hotel entertainment was cheesy!!, and what can I say about the lifts - nightmare!!! we almost missed our transfer home as every lift was full it took us 8 times before we could get down to reception. The race is on for sunbeds at the pool - rediculous what lengths people will go to for a sun bed!!!!! I know this report sounds like we did'nt enjoy the holiday but the hotel is only one aspect of our week and a holiday is what you make it!!!!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at FO.I have stay there 3 times before but this was first time we could not use rooftop pool. They have built an adults only area up at the crazy golf area and we found it was ok.They have also put in some showers which is handy. There are no sun brolleys so it can be hard to get some shade. There is also a small bar but it only has someone serving every hour. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very good.I found the food standard had dropped a little with not as much choice as before but you could always find something to eat,the carverys were still of a good standard.Loads of stag and hen partys but they were well behaved. We enjoyed the holiday but may try another hotel if we go back.

RIP Flamingo Oasis, what a waste
14 years 10 months ago
We have being going to this hotel as a family since the year after it opened, sometimes as a group of mature adults and sometimes as the whole family with the kids. We must have gone at least 20 times between us over the years but I'm afraid this time will be our last. We have watched over the last 18 months or so as the hotel standards have slipped but this time was terrible.

We booked last year after returning from our usual summer break however when we arrived we discovered that the rooftop adults only pool area is now closed to normal hotel guests. This year when we arrived the hotel wanted an extra £200 per week to use this area. This was not advertised when we booked last year and it is part of the appeal of Flamingo Oasis as it was nice for one of us to spend an hour or so up there in the afternoon whilst the little kids napped. The top 5 floors have been taken over by Thomsons and are being converted into suites and apartments. The rooftop pool will now be for the sole use of those guests.

They did put some sunloungers up where the crazy golf used to be but told us this was as a courtesy this year and probably wouldn't do it after this season. Needless to say there were no parasols, no toilets, no pool and two barrels which served as the bar, one full of beer the other full of cola which they replenished periodically.

There also seemed to be a lot less sunloungers available round the main pool, at an educated guess, I'd say about 80 or so less.

The food has also slipped dramatically, one night the carvery consisted of a chef carving chocolate cake instead of meat or fish. This cake used to be positioned at the door as you entered the restaurant as an extra sweet and not at the main carvery area. The food was so bad this year we actually ate out a few times which we have never felt the need to do before. Having been so many times we are friendly with the staff and had a chat, even they agreed that the food is getting pretty bad as the budget has been cut. The wee restaurant manager has left and many more staff are to planning follow.

There were also many more stag and hen parties than usual. Normally there are only a few as the prices to book Flamingo are quite high and you don't notice them but this time you couldn't miss them. There was fighting round the pool and in the corridors. Furniture, paintings, a window and even the lift was smashed and there was blood all over the floor on our landing. There was shouting and screaming in the wee small hours and the guard was called by us and by numerous other guests.

I could cry when I think what a wonderful family hotel this used to be and how its now being run into the ground. The first year we went there, we thought we'd won a watch but now we won't be back and will be looking for something else.

I know there will be people out there who just don't agree with us but if you'd been there since the beginning, you would see the vast difference between then and now. This was a perfect 4* plus hotel but now it can hardly muster a bad 3*.

RIP Flamingo Oasis, what a waste.

Well where do I start. I'll start by informing anyone who booked this hotel because they thought they could use the roof top facilities to as soon as you arrive to pop to the Thomson desk (if you booked with them and also booked well in advance) and ask to speak to Jarvis, he is the head Thomson rep at the hotel, he took my reference number and checked when I booked my holiday to see if I was entitled to any compensation, we were and we received 140e back from them for not being informed that we could not use the rooftop, so it is worthwhile to see if you are entitled to any compo.

The hotel is full of people who have been going to this hotel for years who are never going back to this hotel because of what they have done with the rooftop, trying to walk around the pool area outside is a total nightmare, people just jam the sun beds in anywhere as it is total overcrowded now after putting the rooftop out of bounds, the 'new' sun terrace is a waste of space. you can hardly get any beds on there to start with and instead of a pool on there you have a few showers.

People who booked late also got the suite rooms at the same price as it cost for a standard room, this annoyed people.

On my first day I thought I'd try a few spirits out, they were VERY WEAK and of poor quality, one thing you must do though is to reject ice so that the drink tastes that little bit better as the ice dilutes the already weak spirits even further, the spirits around the pool bar appear better than the 'cafe bar', the lager was fine though and my partner said the strongbow was also.

On my 2nd day I was sat in the cafe bar having a coffee and to my complete horror a coach pulled up and no word of a lie I would say a stag group of about 100 lads got off the coach and checked in, after my nightmare at the Sol pelicanos last year with these groups to say my heart sank was an understatement, BUT to give these lads credit they never gave any bother or over loud noise, if they did I was unaware of it, also I found the group of lasses from Liverpool ok, all be it they could be a little bit loud they didn't harm anyone.

The indoor pool is closed even though it should have been open as people have paid a lot of money to stop at this hotel and should be able to use it if it is there, what are they going to do with that, maybe make it exclusive to the bottom 4 floors of the hotel at extra cost, you never know, joking I am ,but I wouldn't put it past them if they can scrape some extra money out of people.

As for the food. I would say it was standard hotel fare, nothing special about it at all, but it was edible, you should always be able to find something to eat, I found the beef goulash to be lovely, the carved ham was also lovely and the sausages at this hotel were the best I have had at any hotel prevoiusly, I had to laugh though when the man was giving out chicken legs and pieces as if they were 'top stuff'. The deserts at this hotel was poor also, toy cream cakes, jelly and also different coloured slop, orange flavour, chocolate flavour etc.

As someone mentioned earlier the hotel was boiling, it was far too warm in the food hall and the lifts and the rest of the hotel were warm also, air con would have been very handy, on a night I found it easier to sleep with the door closed so that the aircon in the room came on, this made it cooler that just having your patio door was open.

To sum it up would I stop here again, probably, BUT I would never pay the amount of money that I did to stop here this time, another thing, I would say you would enjoy this hotel more without kids.

Booked this hotel after looking at reviews, travelled with my friend and we were not dissapointed. The hotel was excellent, food exceptional, cavier for breakfast, never had that before, so much choice of food it was difficult to choose.

Loved the rooftop pool area, entertainment very good.
go and enjoy we did.

No complaints, bedroom was very big would have slept 4.

We visited the Flamingo Oasis just a few months after it initially opened it was sensational then we went back again and it did not look the same sofas had legs broken, communal loo doors had no locks grafitti all over the doors (in English) a shameful indication of who the culprits were and a general lowering of stadards no sign of an exotic bird made of ice. The basics still managed to remain clean room good, food, friendly atmosphere however when we left shotly after breakfast for the day the same people were sat/slumped at the bar and basically never appeared to move from the Veranda Bar all week. We read reports just like this one which were mostly quite favourable and decided to return for a third time. Our latest visit was from December 18th to 25th December 2008. We arrived around 11pm check in was swift and efficient we were handed provisional meal/drinks passes there was no meal awaiting us on our arival but a hot/cold buffet was available until midnight however this was basically any food left over from the evening meal it was warm and edible so no problem. Breakfast was the usual fayre, eggs leather bacon plastic sausages I passed on a cooked brekkie and chose cereals, Museli I think? which was contaminated with sugar puffs, corn flakes all bran no real problem I picked up a pack from the supermarket opposite which I used for the whole week.Food Unfortunately I have a thing about food not being hot sadly every single meal was at best just warm never ever hot I mentioned this to the Thomson rep (well it's her own fault she did ask if everything was OK) she swiftly informed me that there is a microwave in the restaurant I responded with well whenever I use ours at home I always burn the food I trhink the word she was searching for under her breath was .. .. well tough! she agreed to have a word and probe the food and took my name and room number. I did not see or hear form the the rep until two days before departure I approached her colleague he got her on the phone and initially she denied all knowledge of anyone making a comment about warm food despite the same warm food experience expressed by other guests. She then miraculously appeard behind me and assured me that she had carried out heat tests with a probe prior to service? Now generally the food was quite good a tad too much grease they appear to use it to cook everything even veg but it was fine and if you like your deserts then you are in for a real treat Tip: Fussy about eating warm food then forget the Flamingo Oasis. Since our last visit standards have dropped it's begun to look a bit rough around the edges bedding and some towels were a little threadbare to say the least room was spotless One evening a guest cut his hand on a wicker chair arm, the wooden globe finshers were missing on many of these chairs and once removed? they exposed sharp steel staples. Communal toilet doors. original intergrated door knob locks had been damaged at sometime and either left or replaced with bolts, when a table was emptied it was cleared eventually never wiped clean sadly not four star in my opinion but for me it was the warm food every single day which ruined the hotel I would like to say that it has improved since our last visit unforunately I don't think it has for families looking for an All Inclusve hotel and are prepared to compromise I can see the attraction, but for me it's a tired hotel regrettably the owners and management have let standards slip but in fairness when look at all the graffitti sprawled across all the loo doors (Yes sadly all in English) shameful confirmation as to the nationality of the culprits then I can understand why the bosses think Refurbishment? Hey what's the point......
