just had our second stay in these apartments and again was very happy.
found the staff helpful and friendly. the rooms are basic but clean and are a good size. Perfectly adeqate for the amount of time spent in them.
the maid service was good with clean towels daily and linen changed weekly.
the location was good, a little further back from the main resort but found this a bonus as it was quieter at night.
very close to three beautiful beaches.
pool area nice and clean with plenty sun lounger's.
big al's bistro served good food and provided entertainment nightly which my kids really enjoyed.
i would definately recommend these apt for a family holiday.

room was adequate for what we requested, no complaints. I was not happy with entertainment for kids. reason being, there were none at all. big als bistro was ok for food, though you could predict what would be on the menu each day as it didn,t vary very much. my main concern is that the atmosphere was terrible, i have been to different apartments in salou and there was a great holiday feeling. however the albatros felt like a geriatric ward.we didnt spend much time there , except for a few meals and to sleep most of all, my family felt the bistro was a cold house for Irish people, some of the staff were ignorant and ignored us. it was so obvious the reason was we were Irish. enough said

This hotel is basic in every sense! Rooms are small and although maid service was regular our bath and toilet were never cleaned. The whole building has an air of the 1970's about it. Beware of the lifts, they are extremely dated and myself at 6 months pregnant and my 8 year old son spent a terrifying 20 minutes stuck in one. Not once did any staff from the hotel come to check that we were ok. The pool area is diabolical to say the least. It was very small and dirty and could do with cheering up. The area in which this hotel is based is at the top of a very steep hill and because of it being so built up around it noise bounces of the building and it proves difficult to sleep much before 2am. Make sure you take matches to light the gas in your room, like I said basic! Air conditioning is charged at 8 euros a day. Myself and my family would not visit this hotel again.

The apartments are on a hill not steep though but a long walk uphill from main resort,
Rooms not very clean as cleaners just give it a quick going over but didnt sweep under the beds.
Main reception staff were freindly and helpful and also the Thomson rep was very helpful as for big al's food was ok but entertainment leaves a lot to be desired.

Enjoyed our stay here, especially as its out of the main noisy places of Salou. Rooms were ok, fairly clean and spacious, wont comment on decor, as we dont go on holiday to check out decor. S
taff were very friendly and their English was quite good, better than my Spanish anyhow!

We stayed in the albatross apartments for a week in june. After reading all the reviews on this and various other websites we were thinking that the place was going to be some run down rooms that have never been touched since the seventies. How wrong we were.
Ok the decor in the bathrooms is very seventies but hey it's not my house and we are only staying a week. Our room was a two bedroom one and it was really spacious with a pull down bed in the sitting room as well as two single beds in each bedroom.
It was very clean and we got clean towels every day as well as having all the beds made and all the rooms swept out.The staff at reception were very friendly and always said hello and were really helpful as well.
The apartments were a bit of a trek from the main part of salou and at the top of quite a steep hill but we didn't find that a problem.
All in all I would recommend these apartments as they are clean, quiet and very very cheap.

We had 2 rooms both clean and fair bit of room.
Big Al and staff at bistro very friendly.
Food at bistro plentiful and delicious.
Entertainment in bistro very good.
Actual hotel staff bit miserable.
Had lovely sea view from balcony. Would stay here again.

The reception looked like something out of the 70's and made us question the room. However, this was quite a pleasant surprise. We overlooked the sea at the back of the hotel.
The bathroom could have been cleaner, and there were a few cracked tiles around the shower, but I've stayed in worse.
The floor was dusty but the bin was emptied every day. We didnt have a linen change all week and although we got clean towels, they didnt take our dirty ones away, so we ended up with a shed load. And more toilet rolls than we knew what to do with!
The air conditioning could be hired for a 24 hour period at 8 euros, but as we were only in the room to sleep seemed not very good value for money.

The holiday started with very miserable reception staff, we walked through the reception area many times not once did they speak or smile.
The cleaning service I thought was not good at all, they never made the beds once. If we were in bed when they came to clean, we asked them to give us 5 minutes to get ready and they just shot the towels & toilet paper at us, not taking the dirty towels away. The towels were also very small.
I liked the location of the apartments but that's about it, I would not go back or advise anyone else to go to these apartments.
