We went to these apartments in Feb 2004 and were given a room with a sea view and enjoyed our stay so in October we booked to go back again. We booked on-line and then I contacted Airtours to request the same room or block that we had previously stayed in and this request was noted on our confirmation.
When we arrived at the apartments our request proved to be a waste of time as, instead of a top floor apartment with sea view, we had been given a ground floor apartment in the corner complete opposite end to what we wanted and a big rose bush blocking out the bedroom window!!
This apartment was in a part that is need of modernisation and not worthy of a 3 star plus rating.
When I complained about the room I found hotel staff rude!!

Do not be concerned if you have booked to go here. I too had read bad reports abouth the place but we had no complaints at all.

Stayed at Puerto Tachiche Apartments - fantastic location in Costa Teguise - close to shops, entertainment and beach.
Arrived via coach transfer and spotted 1 x cockroach in 1st minute. Started trembling in fear having read previous reviews on this site but never saw another one.
Room was exceptionally clean. Locusts provided an added dimension but should not put anybody off visiting Lanzarote - mostly confined to southern part of the Island.
Pool very cold for adults but kids loved it.
We have a young family and would go back tomorrow - I really don't understand many of the negative reviews on this site and can only suggest the complex has been transformed as if by miracle! Either that, or people didn

Have just come home from a great week in this hotel, had been worried after reading all the adverse reports, but no need to have worried at all. Our room was one of the most recently refurbished one bed room apartments overlooking the beach. Beds are clean and very comfy, had no problems sleeping at all. Bathroom was spotless, towels plentiful, except they only service the rooms 5 days a week, don't do Sundays or Tuesdays, which was a pain.
Food was, in our opinion, very good and well presented, it was basic but without exception was of a high standard with plenty of choice. Heard of no upset tummies during our stay which is always a worry.
Only down side to this hotel is the diabollical entertainment. If you like loud 'thump thump' music, screaming kids discos every evening, and wide screen telly in the bar blaring out football reults etc all the time then this is the place for you, if however, like us you go on holiday to relax over a quiet drink with like minded holiday makers then you will be disappointed. We felt like we were 'driven' from the hotel each evening, which was a shame.
The pool is spotlessly clean, loads of sunbeds about, but the water is sub-zero, the sea is far warmer.

We stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment.
It was fairly clean although there was 1 large cockroach living in the bathroom and there were other bugs. However, there was a stong smell of stale tobacco smoke in the apartment and opening the windows and doors did not clear it. No soap was provided.
It was also extremely noisy- noise from hotel's own entertainment and nearby bars. Apartments have very poor sound insulation.
Hotel staff were unfriendly and bit rude. Hotel entertainment was dreadful. They were screeching, not singing.
We would definately not stay in this accommodation again or in another Hotetur hotel anywhere in the world.

We stayed at the Puerto Tahichi for a week Half Board and cannot undserstand all the bad reviews, we had a fantastic time, we had a Sea View and oh what a view. The apartments were clean and tidy and the staff were always polite and willing to help us with anything. Yes the entertainment was a bit samey but after all it is a family resort.
We were there at the time that the locusts came over and we necer saw any in the resort as it was always being cleaned, not 1 cockroach in the apartment but 1 on the floor of the entertainment but what people don't ralise as they are very common as it is a hot country. I will definately return to the Puerto Tahichi.

Up to day 12...I had a great time. We were in a ground floor apartment near the smaller pool and it was reasonably quiet. The patio looked out into the cul-de-sac at the front of the hotel which was okay in October but I think would be noisy in high season. Pool area was clean and kept clean. Pools were cold, but the kids played in them for hours. We had plenty of cutlery, plates and cups. There was a brand new combi microwave and a new fridge installed so the facilities were fine for what we needed. The entertainment was what you would expect and the kids (7 and 9)loved the nightly disco. Didn't use the Kid's Club. Couldn't have had a better location, right next to the beach, restuarants, bars and small supermarket. On day 13 I had a cockroach in the middle of the night which freaked me out a bit but I realise that this is part and parcel of a hot country. Hired a car for 3 days and drove about the Island-lovely. Had a lot of help from the rep Lucie as I had left my licence at home. She got me a copy from DVLA and I managed to hire the car. Thanks again.

There are a few messages regarding cockroaches etc in the Tahichi Apartments in Costa Teguise. Went there last year, 2 weeks in August. Yep there are a few cockroaches as expected in the Canaries but the rooms were clean and tidy and cockroach free.

In response to some reports on this hotel, I feel that I need to write feedback in an effort to allay the fears of anyone who is due to travel to this hotel in the future. After reading some of the horror stories regarding cleanliness, I set off on holiday with several bottles of Flash with Bleach and a couple of cloths. To my delight, I found this to be completely unnecessary. Our apartment was cleaned thoroughly every day, except Tuesday and Sunday when there was no cleaning service (we were advised of this on arrival). Our towels were also changed daily and our beds were changed four times during our two week stay. We had no problem with cockroaches in our apartment and only saw 4 in total in the resort over the two weeks. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the pool area which was attended to every morning. We ate several times in one of the restaurants at the apartments and found it to be good value and quality. All in all we found this hotel to be ideal for our requirements and excellent value for money. I would certainly return in the future.
