Resort was very nice, building site in some areas but did not affect main areas or our hotel.
Remember to look out for the mopeds and quads and take your drivers licence even if only provisional!
Hire a car and explore its very nice, visit the graves in suda bay (2hrs! away by car), it is heart moving!

The resort of Hersonissos is a lively place which as some thing or everybody, Star beach water park is split into two parts one for young children with shallow pools and small slides, the other part is full of bars, snack bars and shops. Large pool area and some very large slides. Across the road there are a Go-Kart track and stables, The main high street is full of shops and tavern's and the harbour area as bars,night clubs and taverns it is a very lively place.There is also area which runs along the sea front which as bars and restaurants that are situated over looking the sea.

Hersonnisos is quite large and has a long harbour front to walk along. The town itself is quite busy with lots of shops and traffic. At the far end of the town there is an open air museum depicting Greek life and this is well worth a visit. The beaches are fine but the sand is a bit coarse to walk on. There are loads of waterfront bars and cafes to stop for a drink and the scenery is stunning.
WOuld definately go back there.

Hersonisis is a nice resort with plenty of bars and restaraunts.The entertainment seemed to be mainly karaoke bars.It is a very clean resort and the STARBEACH complex has plenty of water sports etc,the beaches were clean also.I would definetly visit Crete again.

Not much to do here in Hersonissos as its ok for children not for adults.
Nearest place is Malia for adults. The harbour, which is a trek, has more bars ect.
Not much of a beach either.
Didnt particulary think the place was cheap either except at the harbour a pint was def cheaper!!!! would not come here again.

Crowded, quite dirty, very much oriented to the needs of Dutch and German tourists only. Lacks authentic greek flavour.
Most of the beaches were too crowded, with sunbeds at less than 1 meter to each others. Some were not cleaned until noon.
Taxi drivers charge 5 euro for a 200 m ride.

Resort was a bit tacky and catered for budget holidays
Were very polite and helpful although there were one or two bars that were pulling you in of the streets.
The Euro seemed to be crippling the Greeks and it reflected in some of the prices.
Lots to do though. Quaint harbour with trips. Lots of places to walk to.
Have booked for next year 2005

The resort was fantastic. Something for all! There is lovely tavernas and lively bars aplenty. You could go for a chilling night or a mad one dependant on how you were feeling from the night before. There were pleanty of shops (prob never got round them all as every side street you turned around you found more!) We recoomened a small bar a few yards from the apartments called ''No Name'' Fab english breakfast (real bacon and sausage) Would defo go back again. Fab resort and apartments made it!
