relaxing place and peaceful. eveyone makes you welcome. meals at the resort are lovely. every thing is at hand.beach is exellent. i couldn't have wished for a better holiday. not noisey. going again next year see you ellie( restaurant next to cava doro.

I would go to Zante again but not stay at the same hotel.The beach is lovely and clean.

The town is basically one mmain road, part of which is the strip with typical tourist shops and restaurants. From someone's holiday report we had read a reccommendation for the Milos Greek restaurant and that proved to be excelent food although, like the rest of Euroland, quite expensive.

Kalamaki has just the right amount of entertainment without it being " in your face " nightlife.
I found prices good value for monet especially with the poor exchange rate just now.

The resort was just perfect for our family and was perfect for the children aged 10 and 13.
Some nice shops and great choice of places to eat recomend heavens kitchen and bon amici tried a few others but they were not as good mind i am fussy

The resort is much like most Greek resorts with half built buildings, rubble in fields. Some premises had closed down since our last visit.
There actually isn't anything to do in Kalamaki we found.
The Cronula and the Drunk Corner have large amounts of tv's between them where you can watch your favourite soap (but why would go on holiday to watch soaps), premiership football and sky news.
There actually isn't anything to do in Kalamaki. We went there to unwind and the hotel we stayed in helped us to do so and so we weren't worried about things like entertainment or tv.
Most of our days were either spent lying by the pool with a good book, a good walk along the beach or just a really long walk around the island. You do of course have many trips avaialble to go on.
There are numerous restarants available too.
It is a sleepy part of Zakynthos and so wouldn't reccommend it to families, it's definately some a resort for couples who want a quiet break.
When we visited the beach, they were charging for loungers which we would have paid for, but seeing as the distance between the sea and beach is so short and that the tide was coming in so quickly, that you would be moving you lounger back ever 20 minutes.
It's a relatively clean beach but I have definately seen better and cleaner and nicer.
PS - Beware of the numerous jellyfish that are in the sea but also get washed up on the beach!!

Beach was nice but you were not allowed on it a night due to the turtles.

The resort wasn't the cleanest of places as there is building work going on down the main Kalamaki strip. You can see they are trying to improve things. If you want big nightlife you need to go to Lagana which is a 7 euro taxi ride. If you want some very nice restaurants and a few good bars then Kalamaki will do you fine.
As the beach is a turtle nesting site it's pretty well looked after and patrolled by the wardens regularly. Please stay close to the shore so as not to disturb any nests. The wardens will give you more information so do please listen to them. Plenty of places to hire cars from, we did this and explored the island in more detail.
Plenty of places to book excursions, don't go through the rep, they charge you more. They have already had enough money out of you. Let the locals have some instead, after all, we all have a living to make.

we love kalamaki and would never stay any where else when in zante. very safe and child friendly.

kalamaki has lots of excellant resturants prices reasonable, personally not keen on the beach can be a long walk depending where your hotel is
