I brought my 2 teenagers and 5 yr old here as a quick break for 1 week all inclusive. The food was wonderful, catered for special diets ok and very varied. My 5 yr old had no problem asking for fish fingers, burgers etc. The room could have done with some modernisation but we were hardly in it! The entertainment from Ivan and Andre was the best !!!!!!!! The only problem I had was being conned by a taxi driver who drove for 20 mins and charged

We stayed at this hotel Christmas last year, the room was okay, not the cleanest place but had everthing we needed in a minimalist sort of way. The walls in the hallway had big holes in where someone had kicked them in. We went half board, not by choice but it came cheaply in the package that we booked. The food was the worst food that we had ever tasted, such utter rubbish, all I ate in there for the whole week was toast and triangle cheese. We did find a wonderful restaurant just down the road and ate in there every evening, as it was so good, even Christmas day. If you like bingo you will like this place! The bar is nice but the staff seem to have better things to do than wait on you. The lifts are incredibly small for such a large hotel and as a person that walks with the aid of crutches, I found this most annoying that I had to wait up to 10 mins at busy times for the lift to finally appear. We got it extremely cheap, so we didn't grumble but for the poor folk that had paid

This hotel is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel!!, The food and restaurant in this hotel is a shocker its is bland and unconventional i.e Cottage pie, beef stew and hot soup for lunch and dinner in 30

Just returned 10/9/02. Hotel equivalent to a 2+ star UK hotel. In need of refurbishment (kind of sixties stood still), there again Malta is an historic country!

Pity anyone who does not have a sea view, kind of looks like shanty town! Lucky we were on 3rd floor sea view. Bargain late deal with Direct holidays. Paid

This Hotel is away from the hussle & bussel of Bugibba , in a small group of hotels sitting in a bay , with some bars & shops close by .There is no beach but a rocky shore with access to the sea on a rock platform with ladder.

yes one small problem we experienced with the out door swimming pool was the water did tend to sting your eyes but this did not put us off using the swimming pool.

The food was varied & very nice , the rooms were basic but very clean .

The staff were very professional & friendly & the maltese people all spoke very good english & were also very friendly

We had a very enjoyable weeks holiday here & would recommend it to any body who was looking for a place to stay on malta.

Just returned from Qawra Palace yesterday. Hotel is definitely not worth 4-star rating, 3 perhaps. Room was very clean but hotel needs updating. Plenty of space in room with 3 beds, but room we used before checking out was smelly. Rooms overlooking courtyard do not get sun on the balcony so difficult to dry things (eg towels). Hotel is half board and all-inclusive. Food geared towards all-inclusive, not very good. Very bland and samey. Extremely slippy around pool area and by indoor pool, which you have to walk past to get in/out of the hotel pool area. Sun is off the pool by 5pm and off one side of the pool by 4.05pm (this is in August). Airtours Reps did all the daytime (although not much) and evening entertainment. Bingo every night if you like that sort of thing, some cabaret singers and some dancers. One comedian. Enjoyed my holiday but would not go back.

I have just returned from a two week break staying at Qawra Palace. We were very disappointed in the hotel, from the outside of the building the hotel looks impressive. However, the rooms were very scruffy and I should know since we changed room THREE times during our stay.

First we were put on the third floor *WARNING* the air conditioning and telephones do not work on this floor, the room was very scruffy, sheets on bed were stained. We complained then moved up to the SIXTH floor, furnishings were better since that part of the hotel has been re- furbished, phone worked, so did air conditioning. Only problem was there are four lifts in the hotel each one only the size of a telephone box! We stayed there peak season the lifts were very busy so it meant a 15 minute wait for the lift or walk the stairs with kids, and beach gear! So we asked to move again! All that was available was a another room on the third floor so down we went! Again without air conditioning or telephone. What really spoiled this hloiday for me was the fact that you had to get up at least 7 in the morning for any remote chance of getting a sunbed by the pool. There is a sign saying any unattended sunbeds with towels left on them the towels would be removed, but I never once saw staff removing these towels. Some people would get up at the crack of dawn leave their towels on sunbeds then disappear all morning some where else! The food was good at the hotel, and staff helpful, I would return to Malta again but I would never stay at this hotel. The evening entertainment was boring so we went else where every night. Regarding the remote control it cost

i dont agree with these bad reports people have said about this hotel.

Nobody yet has mentioned the superb nightclub inside the palace. the main street and bus station is only a short short walk from the hotel. The rooms are perfect with good clean bathrooms with top of the range utilities. Plenty of entertainment, a good selection of food each and every day. There is even about 10 computers with internet access, etc. games room too.

well ok,

Perhaps the people who wrote highly of that hotel should read the lines below lest they forget!

First, the aircondition-ing is virtually non existent unless you went there around Christmas!

Second, the food is not meant to be for non-Christians,

so if you are Jewish or Moslem or a Veggie, then get ready to have pork on every menu you eat of!!

I can swear that every type of food they do has either got pork in it, or made with oils extracted from pig fat.

add to that the horrible common sense the kitchen staff there keep and you are going to fast through your holiday.

Third, the hotel makers didn't know that some people are disabled for one reason or another. you simply are taking chances everytime you walk to the swimming pool.

May I remind those of the walkway next to the game machines that leads to the pool.

Fourth, if you a little too fat then you'd better get some excercise, as the lifts won't take you in.

Fifth, last week a PAEDOPHILE got through the hotel gate which opens to the sea and TOOK a BRITISH CHILD INTO THE TOILETS. Only G-d knows how I felt any kind of safety knowing about that gate that opens at the sea.

Sixth, the swimming pool water is SEA WATER, now, if you have any idea about Chemistry, then check Sodium Chlorine (the salt)'s addition to Chlorine (cleansing agent the put) what will happen?

Yes, your eyes are going to sting you senseless.

My child asked to have a towel to wipe her eyes on everytime she had a dip in the water.

Seventh, Maltese drivers have a death wish, so hiring a car isn't really too wise, and trying the Maltese buses is not recommended for humans, (sorry to dogs, it is bad for them too) and even if you wish to use the buses (in case you are member of the British atheletics team) then you will have to walk up an extremely steep hill to get to the bus station.

Eighth, (no laughter please) there IS a TV in the room, but you must pay in order to use the REMOTE CONTROL !!!

So you must learn lip-reading in order to understand what BBC world is showing.

Ninth, the Maltese are horribly racist! and the hotel staff are no different.
so if you have a darker skin, be ready to looks of contempt from the hotel staff.

Tenth, adjacent to the hotel there is a restaurant that is part of the hotel, you sit at a table, order pizza or so, and while your hands are busy eating, the cashier comes to you saying, "pay me because I want to go home now!!"

Other notes:

1- It takes 30 to 40 minutes to get to the city from the hotel, and the last bus back is at 9:30, so never set out to go if it's anything later than 7 o'clock.

2- NEVER EVER use the horse carts outside the hotel, they are horribly uncomfortable, and the owners charge immaginary fees. LM 10 (about
