This hotel has s set in a great spot, out-of-the-way; get in the heart of the resort, just a 10 minute walk from the bars and nightlife, and a ten minute walk to the beach. The interior of the hotel is clean and modern after a full makeover, though the guest rooms have been kept simple yet stylish. The communal areas are stylish and there is a pool and terrace area to enjoy.

Hotel was excellent, mainly the cleanliness, the room was very nice and was cleaned and towels changed every day. Should definitely be rated more than a 2 star.
The only problem with the hotel is the paper thin walls, you are unable to get any rest in the room. Earplugs do not work. T.V's and voices can be heard 2 rooms away, and this can carry on all through the night,we were unable to enjoy any time in the room unfortunately due to this problem.

The restaurant was stress free, and there was always clean tables waiting. With good quality food which was lovely, with lots of choice.

Good size pool area, and great decking area for sunbathing, lots of sunbeds, but still needed to be up early to get one in a good spot.

Sadly the location of the hotel would stop us from returning here. "The Mug a Brit road" is unsafe after dark, we were targeted, but were fortunate enough to be aware of what was happening. We reported the incident to the Thompson rep in the hotel and and were advised to take a stick out with us at night "great advice". No holiday maker should feel threatened around the hotel area. The security man that was occassionally on the hotel was only interested in investigating which guest had thrown water from the 11th floor.Had he been patrolling the outside area this may have been a deterrent to these thieves. The hotel should make it clear to holiday makers not to use this road.

This is a nice hotel and kept nice and clean at all times in fact i have only ever stayed in one hotel that was looked after as nice as this and it cost me twice as much to stay there,
The food was also good always something nice to eat with proper sausages for breakfast which makes a change, although evening meal they could do with more choice for kids apart from just chips, and you have to buy drinks with your evening meal even water!!
The pool is good and kept clean not much of a kids section (small).
The entertainment is terrible and aimed at the older end with all the entertainment coming from hotel staff apart from one night it was a male duo singers who was not very good and only sung songs from the 60's.
But my main gripe and only thing that i had a real problem with was the bar staff they just didn't smile even when you leave them a tip miserable as sin i believe if you smile people smile back but not here the staff need to lighten up this was the general feeling from all the people on holiday there.
but in the main its a decent hotel and worth the money and i would go again.

we stayed at the rio park for 11 nights. our first visit to benidorm. very clean hotel, staff always cleaning. food ok, always something for everyone. we were only a few mins from beach, which was beautiful. the entertainment was dire, we as a family don,t normally stay around the hotel in the evening but as it has such a lovely large decked outdoor area, we decided after going out for a few drinks, we liked to go back there for last couple of hours.we would stay at this hotel again.

From the minute you set foot in the hotel you can see they take pride in the apperance, it is spotless. The reception area is huge and in this area they have 2 bars (1 smoking and 1 no smoking), a lounge area, a games area and also and internet area. They also have a Thomson desk area for all customer queries and information.

The hotel food was excellent with a superb choice on offer, there was something for everyone. Again this area was gleaming and the staff were really helpful.

The location is towards the top of the 'yellow brick road' which can be viewed as a downside but just stick to the main roads and it is fine. Anybody who knows Benidorm is probably aware of this path anyway and to avoid late at night.

All the staff are really friendly and will go that extra mile to make your holiday enjoyable, they really do believe in making your holiday that bit more special.

This was about my 25th visit to Benidorm in the last eight years, I wish that I had stayed here before as I will defintely stay here from now on.

Just returned from our 2nd visit to Rio Park and wouldn't hesitate to return again.

Exact same staff as before and they have been there for years.

Once again, our e.mailed requests were met.

Food was still lovely and plenty choice.

As majority of hotels the walls are paper thin and to whoever was next door - your snoring woke me every night!!!

Comments: Have just returned from a last minute deal we booked at Rio Park. We went to Rio many years ago and were pleasantly suprised at the improvements made.

Overall the holiday provided a good base and really desreves upgarding to a three star. Food is nothing less than fantastic. Loads of choice and good quality, you'd have to be very fussy if you couldnt find anything here to suit you!Hotel clean throughout and staff are great.

A great hotel for hens and stag does !

Two new lifts have been installed this year and although there are four in total , when the hotel is full and you are on the top floors it can take some time to get a lift.

Rooms allocated on the front of the hotel at present overlook the building site, which at first glance is a bit off putting, however as the hotel was full we could not change rooms so stuck it out, we werent in the room long anyhow and my hubby was fascinated by the construction work taking place . To be honest the noise was limited and the rooms are all double glazed and thankfully air conditioned so you can hardly hear a thing , dont let this put you off it allocated on of these rooms.

The hotel are to be commended for their approach to hand hygiene and you are not allowed into the restaurant without using either the alcohol wipes or gel available at the restaurant entrance!

Hotel is a smoking hotel , and unfortunately for us we were surrounded by smokers which could be smelt in our bathroom and on the balcony. I have suggested that maybe when booking smoking guests, they could be allocated rooms near each other, then everyone would be happy.

My only real grumbles are the entertainment which was pathetic to say the least. Evening stuff is almost non existent except for bingo and kids stuff and a disco, shows are really poor, but hey this is benidorm and the entertainment is all around you ! so again not a problem.
The entertainment area is poor and kind of resembles a cafeteria, you cannot actually see the stage area, and non of the entertainment is outside , there isnt room anyhow.

Pool areas are very good with plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas if it gets too hot, quite a walk to the beach if you have kids with all the trappings , but do-able.

Plenty of good , cheap local bars , recommend Alfie's Den for good food and reasonable prices, on the yellow brick road and BBbs near the hotel.

All in all a great 10 days very good value !

Nice hotel very clean, food was good ,staff were very pleasant and friendly/

The only complaint we had was where they put us right beside the pool the rooms were very poor quality they were dark cold and smelly, the so called balcony was just a few patio stones which anyone could walk on to and did so and also took what they wanted.

We had two 5year olds with us which we had to watch has it was very dangerous due to the pool. When we went to see the thomson team leader she did not want to know saying we should go and see the manager (trying to pass the buck)she said there was no other rooms available but we were told by a person that there were 60 rooms available! We had been there 2 days and had not unpacked so we decided to leave it as the rep was so rude and just did not want to help.

While we was there 3 groups moved from these rooms in 4 days and every time we went past the rep someone in the hotel were complaining. The hotel were not to blame it was the Thomson team leader she did not want to help anyone so beware if you go into a family room as if you have young children they are in a dangerous location if you are just travelling 2 or 3 of you the hotel is a1. Anymore and I would be very careful where they put you we also offered to pay more money or move to a different hotel but she did not want to know will never travel with Thomson again after traveling with them for 29 years.

Hotel was bright and clean. Staff were great. Good choice of meals. Right in the centre of benidorm you don't have to go far for plenty of nightlife. Weather got up to 28c. Can't comment on hotel entertainment as it was March and most guests were 50+ so hotel entertainment was geared to them, which is only right. Overall you couldn't fault anything at the hotel. Would go back to the Rio Park and yes in March.
