Dont even go there.

Most flights seem to arrive early morning.
We landed in reus at 01:30 Spanish time and boarded our transfer bus, the vancouver is only 20 mins drive from the airport but it is last on the transfer list.
Arrived at hotel at 05:00 and was dumped by the thomas cook rep at the reception occupied by a man that can only speak spanish.
Be aware you have to hand over 60 euros of your spending money when you check in.
He will give you a key and just point in the general dirction of the hotel where your room is.

The rooms are clean and adiquate but the hotel is a bit to be desired.
Maintenance is a waste of time, on day 1 i found an live electrical socket with no cover and wiring exposed within easy reach of my 4 year old to which I promptly reported by day 7 it still hadn't been fixed.

The entertainment is a little to be desired (ok if you like karaoke and a rubbish disco)
The entertainment room is a small room used as a games room, bar, fast food diner and disco.

There is so little for the kids to do that they run wild around the pool area until 1am (therefore if you want an early night dont bother as you will constantly hear the kids screaming.

The day before I checked out I asked about a room extention and was advised by the thomas cook reps that it the hotel dont do it and that I could get half an hour in a room to freshen up.

The check out time is 10am at this hotel, you have to leave your bags in the reception hall all day so they could be tampered with at any time.

When I arrived back at the hotel to get a room to freshen up I was refused by reception and pointed to the tiolets to use instead I did however discover that reception will extend the rooms just dont ask the thomas cook reps.

In summary
Hotel ok for a base to operate out of.
Dont try to have early nights.
Dont even bother with the thomas cook reps.
Be prepared for a long boring last day.

The apartments are spacious and clean, sometimes you have to ask for clean sheets. You have a two ring cooker and microwave and a good size fridge freezer but have to hire kettle and toaster but use microwave for toast, not great but saves 18 euros. You can also hire a TV but would set you back over 140 euros for 2 weeks.

The pool was clean while we were there though there was a broken light that was never fixed.

The food was ok for a quick snack, burgers, chips, pizza, pork chops, chicken.

Entertainment, you will either like it or hate it, bingo every day, water polo, water aerobics for daytime and at night ti was karaoke, blues brothers, a hypnotist or a comedian ar games and stuff with whoever was in the bar area.

The reps Natalie and John do give it their all but at times the staff in the apartments were preventing them from getting things done, like not giving them the keys to open the pool table for speed pool and asking them to turn down the music for the aerobics.

Bar service can at times be slow.

The kids clubs were on the go but i could not comment on them as none of mine went. Kids rubber rings, armbands and balls were all in the pool being played with but I did not see any lilos.

If you are being noisy after about 1 am even if just sitting laughing and chatting on your balcony you will be told to be quiet, as we were.

These apartments are about 40% owner occupied and I was told originally built for private housing but the developer was not selling them all so sold out to the holiday company, thats why I think there is a guy who keeps it all down after 1 am. Would I go back ? No.

First impression, a bit drab really. No proper reception area seating etc.

Pool- dirty, line of scum around water level, broken light and broken mosaics. Very slippery, no inflatables allowed in pool, lifeguard on duty at all times which was good.

Children's play area-not suitable for under 3 years, no baby swings, surrounding area was grubby and unsecure, not as advertised.

Rooms - very clean and spacious, although 1 bedroom has no storage whatsoever. Don't need to hire toaster, micro combi oven does the job, be aware kettle hire though.

Bar/restuarant- Prices variable depending on staff. As for food, very bland and simple, desperate diners only.

Bar staff sometimes cooked the meals in kitchen, got dodgy burgers, sore bellys on last day. What a bummer.

Entertainment-Marcus & Rhiann, at beginning well organised kids loved them dance floor busy. Day time activities, not as stated on notice board but none the less good. Sadly as the week progressed the same music tape, same dance routines, same games (ok so the 2yr old had it mastered but for the rest) a bit repetative and tiresome.

Then we were"treated" to Marcus's and his" fan clubs"(you know who you all are!)own brand of petty and childish entertainment. However he is no longer an employee of Thomas cook.

Depature times- please be aware if late dep. Time rooms to be vacated 10am. If "late check out "not booked prior then from 10am. Till departure time no proper waiting area available.

Supermarket across the road good value for money and well stocked.

Location - ideal for everywhere really. Local buses run 24 hours(plana) try nou camp and magic fountain's tour (25euros) far cheaper than rep's tour.

Beach- steep hill La pineda better
Cap-salou, eating places smugglers and the paddock a must
Port Aventura- an absolute must, but buy tickets in the UK or at the park (71 euros)14 days +1 day at costa caribe water park hidden charges at water park, lockers, sunbeds and rubber rings.

Salou- eating out try "Ritas" excellent value for money T-bone steak + salad + chips 6 euros.

Taraggona - Gold ship chinese restaurant at the shore end of ramblas worth finding.

Barcelona-what a place. Visit The hard rock cafe, La Ramblas.

Nou camp stadium magic fountains.

All in all we had a good holiday, weather brill.

But we would not return to the Vancouver apts. but will return to the area.

This was a last minute booking and we really didn't know what to expect having for the last two previous years gone all inclusive but what a surprise.

We found the apartments to be very clean.

The pool was also really clean with a man cleaning the pool every morning

Ok the snack bar was no a la carte restaurant but for us with small and teenage children it was fine for lunchtime snacks by the pool.

The entertainment staff Rhiann and Marcus were fabulous with the children my eight year old daughter loved every minute come to that so did my husband, so much so we have booked for two weeks for this year.

We found the apartments to be very clean; the cleaning staff came in everyday with clean towels. We found with 3 children the evening entertainment to be ok, not much for adults but you can just sit and watch kids having fun.

It was a bit disappointing in having to hire kettle for room but other than that for us eating out it was fine. The breakfast in the bar was good but other meals not very appertizing.the kids club staff and the rep were around but they didn

This is a very clean and well maintained apartment with good facilities. The staff are all very friendly except the night time reception man who seems to be intent on stopping people having any fun after 11.30pm. It was very easy to get to barcelona and other resorts from here. This holiday was a cheap last minute get away but it definately exceeded our expectations.

The holiday didn't get off to the best start. On our second night our apartment was broken into and cash, travellers cheques and personal items stolen. There appeared to be no forced entry on the first floor apartment, which led us to believe that this was carried out as an inside job by someone who had access to a master key , the robbery involved someone forcing the room safe open with what the police seem to think was a crowbar. ( just be wary and dont think that because your'e valuables are in the room safe then they wont go missing ) The hotel reception staff and JMC reps were very understanding towards the incident and smoothed out any complications in getting travellers cheques returned. Special thanks to Fiona from JMC.

On the whole we found the hotel to be clean and fairly well run. At times the hotel bar was understaffed leading to waits of upto 15 mins. to be served, good basic food was served in the bar which the kids enjoyed.

The hotel entertainment was well presented, with plenty of variation that kept both kids and adults interested.

Some concern was raised about the hotel pool, we noticed within minutes of arrival at how murky the pool looked. 2 of our children suffered from painful ear infections which required visits from the doctor and numerous prescriptions, this ultimately led to us having to extend our holiday by 3 days as the doctor would not let the kids fly due to the ear infections. On speaking to other guests, we found out that virtually every party had suffered ear infections in some form or other, and the consensus was that this was caused by the swimming pool not being clean enough.

Despite the setbacks mentioned above this was no holday from hell and the hotel provided more good memories than bad.

The board basis is not known. The hotel was clean and the maid service was good. The hotel food was served in the games room and entertainment room, the food was chips, hotdogs, or pizzas. The hotel location was 15 minutes away from salou centre but on the way to the bus stop you had to be carefull because you were up a hill which was very slippy. The jmc reps was helpful entertainment staff tried there best without success.

We had a two bedroomed apartment that consisted of two bedrooms and a living area with a kitchenette all pleasantly decorated and clean and tidy. The independently controlled air conditioning was a definite plus. We found the need to hire a kettle and toaster a bit excessive when self catering!
The food served on site was not to a very high standard and we found it far better to eat out locally.
The apartments are located only a short walk to local bars, restaurants and beach this is downhill and the paths are slippery, going out is fine its the walking back uphill that would not suit some.
The hotel staff and the JMC reps were all very pleasant and helpful, any problems were dealt with if reported.
The JMC entertainment staff were very keen and involved the children wherever possible, the overall entertainment was OK but not to our liking, we found it more pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the evening sun. The kids club was held in a small hut with no fans or air conditioning and didn't attract many children, certain events were also charged as an extra.
Overall the apartments offered everything we needed for a good holiday and we would certainly consider them again in the future.
