This was our second visit to Turkey and we booked this holiday at short notice.

When we arrived we were placed in an attic room. This had very sloping ceilings so watch your head! It was almost impossible to cook in the kitchen without banging your head.

We asked to move at any point during our holiday but were told there were no rooms available for the 2 weeks, even though we saw numerous departures and arrivals during our fortnight.

We found the staff, in general, friendly and helpful especially the maids and bar staff. The only exception being the young girl on the reception desk who we found to be very rude and unhelpful.

Despite this initial setback, we still enjoyed the holiday and apartments as they were very clean, nice pools and good food from the bar at reasonable prices.

The apartments are in a quiet location but close by to restaurants and bars and about 10 minutes walk from the beach.

Hi we stayed in the Babadan Appartments and loved every minute of it.

Its states hotel is only 3 star but we thought it was more 4 star. The staff were fantastic especially simon he made us laugh so much we went out every night but came back around 11pm and sat up drinking and having a laugh with the staff till about 4 am most nights.

Weve all been to Icmeler a few times this is by far the best aapartments weve stayed in. the rooms were very clean and spacious great sized balcony the only problem we had is we had 2 cocroaches 1 night but that was only 1 room 1 night and we had 4 rooms. Plus we were one of the first familys there as it was the start of a new season.

We ate out every night but we had a few lunches there and they were very nice. we also thought the location was great will be going back to Babadan twice in 2007 would recomend it to everyone...

Terrible place, definitely not for couples!! Awoken by cock crowing at 3am every morning which continued until 8am. You will fit in extremely well if you have half a dozen kids, chain smoke and have a few tatoos. The only good point is the location which is very central.

This was our first time to Turkey having had holidays in Greece/Crete for the last 6 years and we were not disappointed.

Icmeler and the Babadan Apartments were wonderful. The apartments are kept wonderfully clean by the army of cleaners every day with towels and bedding changed every 3 days.

The hotel is located just on the edge of town and we stayed in the annexe building which had great views of the surrounding mountains and were very peaceful and quiet. Only a 5 mins walk into the centre of Icmeler and 10 mins to the Old Village (try some of the restaurants out of town you will not be disappointed).

The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. They really look after you and make sure you are enjoying your holiday.

As we went in October the entertainment was a little scarce - one night only which had a Turkish theme (belly dancer/folk dancing/magician). However the staff kept you entertained if you stayed around the pool bar. Please note that the bar prices are on a par with the restaurants and are not overpriced.

We enjoyed ourselves in Icmeler and the Babadan so much that we have already booked up to go again next year. By the way Portland Direct are a great Holiday Company.

Arrived 2am in the morning and was allocated an attic room, avoid especially if you have a family no cupboard space i.e 1 wardrobe between 3 also a stench from the toilet area. So next morning got moved too ground floor apartment behind the bar loads more space. Bit more noisier but music supposed too go off at midnight but dont bank on it still heard boogie box 2-3am had a quiet word and no problems after that.

Hotel location is perfect 100 yards from centre of town staff at the babadan are very friendly and try hard too make you feel welcome.

Turkish night once a week I reacon should be more.

We were disappointed when we first got there as we were allocated an apartment that had steps leading up to it,after we had specifically asked for a ground floor apartment because my son is in a wheelchair.

We were offered a different hotel the next day,but by then my son had settled in,so we decided to stay, even though the shower wasnt wheelchair friendly,so my son had to bathe in the pool all week.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which meant we had 2 balconies, and 2 bathrooms, the second one being an en suite to the main bedroom, having said that the whole apartment was quite small, bearing in mind that it accomodated 8.

The pots and pans werent nearly enough for 6 people,we took our own cereal bowls as the ones provided were tiny,we also had no choice but to eat out every day as you were only provided with 2 rings and a toaster and kettle.the actual apartment though was spotless, and if it wasnt for the unbearable stench that came from the toilets,I would have no complaints about the actual apartments.

The staff were very friendly, even at three in the morning if you needed to go to the shops, which are open 24 hours a day. Ozzy and Rosh the barmen were very funny, and the reps were helpful if you had a complaint.the hotel itself only served very basic meals i.e full English, chips burgers etc,and only til about 7ish,,so to get a decent meal you had to venture elsewhere,we would definetly go there again, but hopefully by the next time, they will have sorted some ramps out and sorted the shower access, and the plumbing on the toilets.

Also beware of the sunbed brigade, the same people got the same sunbeds every morning even though there were signs saying not to reserve sunbeds, and I never saw the staff challenge anyone about it,it was very annoying ,these people must get up at 5 in the morning to put out there towels and they should have a bit of consideration for other people. Some days you were lucky if you got a table and a few chairs, so I think that babadan should address this situation,as this was in September, heaven knows what it would have been like in July or August.

Just got back from 2 weeks at the Babadan Apartments, the apartments are set in a brilliant location not to far from the town centre but just far enough back to make them very peaceful and quiet.

The staffs are very friendly and a good laugh and most speak good English and all are from the area so they can give you some good tips (very interesting to talk to them as well).

The apartments are exclusive to the TUI group (Thomson, Portland etc) and all the guests are British.

We had a ground floor apartment (no 1) which was just the right size even though it overlooked the main road and was quite close to the snack bar was very quiet.

There are about 63 apartments in total there is a new block which is separate from the main buildings just near the rear pool.

Two swimming pools side and rear, I found the rear pool to be more peaceful because there were less small children running about (a couple of fig trees, you can pick and eat very nice) water was very clean, there looked to be a new filtration plant.

My one complaint was that during the second week the bag a sun bed brigade were out in force, it is about time the tour operators forced there hotels to stop this going on, as you know when one or two start doing it everybody does it! So by 8 in the morning there is not a sun bed for anyone

I did not see any laundry facilities on site, the apartment came equipped with 2 ring hob kettle etc, no deposit was required. We only used the kettle and the bowls (top tip take some bowls with you if you eat cereal in morning as the ones supplied are a wee bit small)

Beds were very comfortable, the only moan I had was that m bed was under the Air Conditioning unit, I used to wake up freezing in the night and get a blanket! My daughter slept on a fold out bed sitte and had no complaints.

There is a small shop on site which sells all the essentials at reasonable prices, for anything else (fruit etc) there is a supermarket/wholesalers across the road, I would recommend a trip to Tansas which is a short walk away (on the way to the market about 5 or 10 mins) Tansas is much cheaper than the other so called supermarkets and well worth stocking up with cans of coke etc and beer if your that way inclined a large beer cost 1.65 YTL as opposed to 3.00 in the bars.

There is a well stocked bar with a large screen TV which shows most of the main sporting events unlike some places I have stopped at before it was very reasonable, once a week they put on a Turkish night which is good fun (belly dancer etc) but other than that there is no other entertainment, there is enough on in the resort.

Hope this is enough info; we liked it so much we have just booked to go back the same time next year

We were very pleased with the standard of these appartments. I wrote to the owner before we left requesting not to be put in the attic rooms. We were allocated a corner appartment with both pool and mountain views.

Appartment small but certainly adequate for 2 weeks and it was immaculate when we arrived, after that it was cleaned on alternate days.

The cleaners used to arrange our towels into shapes of boats or hearts which was a lovely touch.

The 2 ring hot plate did not heat food quickly enough so we ate out most nights which seems to be the usual thing to do here.

Pools fine for apartment numbers but if you have not got a sunbed by 10 am you won't get one so either. Send your children down early or remove the towels if unoccupied as a towel is not an official reservation only a request, so we had no problems with this aspect.

All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Kidsclub seemed good but our daughter only went once.

The bar could be noisy and tended to play the same music repeatedly but it went off about midnight so no problems sleeping.

Overall a very pleasant stay.

This was our second visit to Babanan Appart and unfortunatly it will be our last. We felt the pool area was not kept as clean as the previous year, but the standards in the rooms were excellent.

Waiter service and staff excellent. Our main concern was the addition of a Photorapher around the pool. He was very pushy and would take our photos with or without our concent. I could cope with his pushy approach, that is what you get in Turkey. But I did not like the fact that my 6 year ond daughter was getting photographed in her swimwear out of my view and without my concent.

I brought it to the owners attention as well as the thomspon rep attention who spoke to the photographer and asked him to ask for concent for taking pictures of children under 16.

He agreed to do this, but when I spotted him taking very canded pictures of my daughter and several other small children in their swim wear again the following week I had to complain in writting.

I was not the only parent who saw this taking place and not the only parent with concerns.
