Hotel Elif was a complete nightmare. We also returned yesterday. Never again will we visit this hotel. The bar and waiting on staff were awful - we got non stop hassle and found them to be very abusive and rude. They only wanted you to eat at their restaurant and got very aggressive when they seen us going elsewhere. They followed us in the evening and apparently one of the bar waiters (Rhami) was known for giving the girls a punch or two when they were drunk. He got banned from Eastenders club the week before we arrived because he punched a girl to the floor!

Each time you enter/ exit the hotel you have to go through the bar area and by doing this you were approached by about 5 of the staff who gave us nothing but hassle from day one.

The receptionist and cleaners were the only friendly people in the hotel. It is in a great location but the bar and waiting staff really ruined our stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We plan to return in September but will be keeping well clear of this hotel.

We stayed in The Elif Hotel, Icemeler, Turkey in July 2007. We arrived very early in the morning and the hotel receptionist checked us in immediately and with no fuss and carried our cases up the stairs (no lift) to our room. The room was pretty basic, but clean with a double and two single beds and a small but clean bathroom which provided very hot water every night for showers. We requested more towels and they came immediately. The cleaner came every day and the towels were changed several times during our stay. The air conditioning was free - you needed it too! The restaurant was very good and the staff friendly and couldn't do enough for you, even going over the shop if you needed anything. The Turkish night was very good and the breakdancers were brilliant. We used the beach belonging to the hotel and they would keep us sunloungers near to the sea and would wait on us for drinks and one afternoon brought around melon for all their customers. We were very sad to leave and would definitely stay here again - they make you feel like one of the family. The receptionist carried our cases back down on the day we left and was extremely friendly, intelligent and helpful.

Having been to Icmeler for 9 times twice this year and stayed in loads of different hotels and apartments these are good and close to everything which is a blessing, the restaurant food was good and we was well looked after kids getting free ice cream and drinks quite a lot, their was one person who worked their who was a bit pushy but he is being replace for coming season.

Due to the boss not happy with him.

Like everything in life is to try it yourself, so you can see how nice it really is.

It is the first time I stayed at Elif I found it to be central very clean, lovely staff who really would do anything to please you.

Nice rooms and excellent location especially if you wanted to be near the beach.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants decent basic hotel accommodation.

We stayed for 14 nights at the Elif, which is situated close to the beach, and all local amenities.

The room had minimal storage space with one plug point, however it is basic but clean and the staffs are very helpful and attend to any request or query immediately.

The brochures state that you can use the facilities of the sister hotel the Blue Rainbow next door but the Elif has changed owners and this has been stopped.

We only managed to get hot water 3 times while we were there, attempts to rectify this were unsuccessful and we were told other guests must have been using all the hot water that was available.

The downside for us (although this may not bother some people) was that to leave the Elif you had to walk through the bar /caf

Our 4th time in Icmeler, but our first time at the Elif.

We previously stayed at Blue Rainbow (sister hotel) but were told no B & B this year, only half board. As we love the location, about 50m from the beach and right in the heart of the nightlife, we decided on the Elif.

The rooms were basic, typical Turkish decor with dark wood, but they were cleaned everday, with beds changed every couple of days, no problems getting clean towels everday if you wanted. Bit disappointed there was no mini-bar/fridge in the room, to keep drinks cool and lippy from melting!

The staff were very helpful, although their English is not the best.

The Elif bar has some entertainment, during the week, the highlight being their Turkish night. My husband was a bit miffed because they had promised to put on one of the English football matches one night, but conveniently couldn't find the relevant channel.... strange Turkey seemed to be playing also that night and were about to start their second half when the English game was due on! Still he just wandered off and found another bar so everyone was happy.

We would certainly use the hotel again.

Wow,what a hotel, one of the best I have ever stayed in.

We had a top floor balcony with stunning views over Icmeler bay, we couldnt have asked for more.

The room was large enough for 2 people, plenty of storage space, the bathroom was dark, mostly due to dark brown tiles, and the lighting could have been better.

Hot water when you needed it, maids came in every day, early morning, but if you fancied a lay in, they would come back later.

The staff at the hotel where 2nd to none, nothing was too much trouble for them, the pool was a good size, and had no really deep ends. There was also a childrens paddling pool. During are stay we had no trouble getting a sunbed.

The Elif cafe, was brilliant, the food was 10/10, service 10/10. They honestly cant do enough for you. Even if the pool isnt for you, the beach is 50 metres away. Its a small man made beach, buts its ok, we didnt use it.

The hotel is very central, just metres away from the Icmeler nightlife. If you have been before, its just down fron the Lion fun pub.

I cant speak highly enough about this hotel. I will be back !

Elif Hotel. We arrived late at night due to our pre-booked transfer from the airport taking someone else.

On arrival we were given two rooms on the ground floor which were basic but clean. On our first night our room was broken into while we slept and my wallet, driving licence and a couple of bags containg duty free etc were stolen. We asked Icmeler Online to move us to another hotel and they put us in the Blue Rainbow next door. This was a far superior hotel.

If you are staying at the Elif don't stay on the ground floor as some balconies are easily accessible from a path that runs down to the beach.

Also the staff were only really friendly if you booked for their Turkish night, other wise they weren't really interested.

I would not recommend this hotel
