I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Icmeler. My partner and I were booked to stay at the Onat Apartments.

On arrival our first impressions were 'Oh my God!!!' The smell which hits you is awful.

We were shown to our apartment, along a dingy, dark corridor. Once inside, we discovered live wires hanging down in the shower. Imagine, using a shower with these things, I dread to think what would have happened.

We complained to the staff, the English owner was not interested in our complaints and left a waiter to deal with us.

We were offered an alternative room, a duplex, imagine our horror when we again discovered live wires and also loose bannisters in the room.

Once again we complained and eventually we were moved to another hotel, which was 100% better.

While we were waiting to be transferred other holiday makers told us about rats which had been seen in the grounds and on some balconies.

I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone.

When we arrived at this hotel my family and I all felt like crying. Walking along this darkened corridor to our room people were leaving their used toilet paper in bags outside their rooms.

On entering our room it was really smelly, the bedding was stained and dirty, when my husband asked for clean bedding the bar staff returned with more used bedding disgusting!!!!

The stairs within the room were hazardous and not properly secure for children as well as adults. We were unable to let our daughter go up the stairs as the bannister didn't go all the way to the top. At the top of the stairs there was a huge gap that any child would fall down and have a fatal accident. In the bathroom there were live wires coming out of the wall and also the electric shower.

We demanded to move from this hell hole. The staff were not interested in any problems that were raised. We were moved 2 days after our arrival along with another family who experienced the same as us. I advise people to avoid these apartments if they are hoping to have a safe, clean and happy holiday.

The entrance to the reception was situated in the bar area, while this was ok as soon as you turned around the corner you were faced with a dark and dirty corridor with staff sleeping in an ante room.

we were in a room upstairs. The staff were helpful and carried our luggage to our room.

The problem we had was with the room which was very small and basic but we could live with this what really made us ask for a change was the dangerous state of the stairs leading to the bedroom.

The stairs were at such an angle that if you were any taller than 5ft 5ins you bumped your head. The stairs had no safety rails at the top and they were not secured safely to the wall. We felt that it was an accident waiting to happen. We asked the rep to move us which he did however we had to pay an additional

Having read some of the previous reports regarding these apartments I was a bit concerned. However, we had a really good holiday.

Its evident that there were teething problems last year which certainly have been overcome this year. The room was spotless. Food excellent and staff were extemely helpful. I would definately consider going again.

We found the Onat to be very basic but comfortable accomodation. There were no cleaners during our stay but this was no problem for us as we do prefer to do it ourselves anyway. After caravaning in wales during June, this place was luxurious! Its all a matter of getting your priorities right and seeing the good points! We found the clean sheets and towels and changed them ourselves. no problem. We put our rubbish outside our door everyday and it was removed.

The staff were excellent! Carlos is a star and always managed to keep a smile on your face. We found Debbie (the owner)to be friendly and helpfull! and game for a laugh. Especially when hubs got his own back and threw her in the pool towards the end of our stay.

The Onat is way at the back of the village and a good 15 min walk from the beach ect... but the little train ran past every half hour from 8am-8pm and was very cheap and a nice chance to see the old village and the mountains.

The only complaint I would have about the Onat is the state of the grids around the pool. They were broken in places and could of been very dangerous. Also the channels around the pool needed a good scrub !

But all in all we had a great stay (we shed a few tears as we left) and we are hoping to visit the Onat again in October 05.

Well what can I say have just returned from spending two long weeks in one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in.

When we arrived the room was not ready, when we finally got our room it was far from clean, the halls looked as if they had never been cleaned.

The stairs in the apartment where most dangerous with a banister on one side and gap on the other wide enough for a child to fall through.

When we finally got sorted out and wanted a shower we found no hot water, we went and asked was there a problem, finally at 8pm we got some luke warm water, and after that only had hot water for a couple of hours a day between 6pm and 7pm. and out of the two weeks we did not have hot water at all on three days, the boiler had broke down and nobody was told!

We asked three times over the two weeks if we could have a linen change, this never happened and the British owner made excuses everytime, one being that they did not have another key to get in our room, although our door was opened by a member of staff when we was there, they thought the room was vacant, so they had a key all along. We did see a couple of so called cleaners, two ladies smoking cigarettes and dragging a mop about the place, without much effort!!

The bins for toilet paper where never emptied in the bathroom over two weeks.

Bags of litter where left in the hallways for days on end the whole place looked scruffy.

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay this is not for you, within the vacininty of the hotel there are two restaurants pumping out loud music until 1am most nights, and even the Onat had load music round its bar area, one night the owner tried to sing along to the music on the mic, something to be missed I must say!!!

The owner was there most of the time lounging on a settee near the reception either sipping on a drink or chatting, never once did we see her doing any work on running the hotel, all her paperwork on running the accommodation was done from a school exercise book. No wonder there was total confusion when people arrived, while we there we several guests where left waiting for rooms.

One other thing we found dangerous was the vacinity of the bathroom to the top of the stairs, there was no more than three feet gap and with tiled floors you could come out of the shower slip and you would fall down the stairs.

To end, this is a filthy hotel, poorly run and extremely noisy, I would not wish this place on my worst enemy. Infact I will think twice about going to Turkey again!!!

I have just returned home from my holiday at Onat apartments. This hotel is dirty and smelly. The corridoors and staircases are caked in muck. The area next to the bar and pool wasnt once cleaned during our visit.

During our two week stay we didnt once have our sheets/towels changed (i had to find where they were kept and do it myself).
I believe that the cleaners were sacked as we arrived, we were offered no apology about the lack of cleaning. The british owner didnt speak to us at all.
The only good thing about this place is the fantastic bar staff who go out of their way to help and make you laugh.
I would never go back to this dirty place and i am suprised that my two small children didnt fall down the dangerous steps in our room.
we were moved after two days from a room suitable for children, to a room that couldnt be more dangerous.
i would like to warn other holidaymakers about this place, as far as it being a 3*, i wouldn't even have given it a rating.
A total disappointment, to myself, my family and the other holday makers there with us.

We arrived at the Onat apartments at 6am after a 6 hour flight delay looking forward to climbing into bed for a few hours sleep. Unfortunately all these plans went on hold, when we were taken to our apartment, it was filthy dirty, there was remains of the previous peoples food in the fidge and cupboards, I can't imagine when the bathroom was last cleaned and there was no bedding other than a soiled sheet on one of the beds!! We had also been provided with two double beds, totally unsuitable when we have a daughter of 15 and a son of 12.
Fortunately our travel company were able to move us within a few hours and as you can imagine we certainly will not be returning to the Onat Apartments although we love Icmeler and will be going back again.

We arrived after a long delay around 2am and taken to our room. The room had not been cleaned and still had the previous occupants washing up left in the sink.

The stairs to the bedroom are deadly with no banister it still makes me shudder to think what might/could happen should you get up in the night to go the the toilet, consequently we slept with the light on and made the children sleep downstairs.

The owner, who I believe is English, never spoke to us for the entire 2 weeks although she was there every day.

The cocktails were

We have been to Turkey many times always staying in hotels, but because we were there for 6 weeks we had self catering, as soon as we arrived we wanted to change, we couldnt believe the stairs to your bedroom they were so dangerous i dreaded to think with small children, we searched for a weekend to change found somewhere then the rep (well he calls himself a rep) wouldnt change us. So we had to stay there for 6 weeks, the location poor, they sacked the cleaners so for 4 weeks we didnt have our rooms cleaned we done it ourselves, they still havent got cleaners.... Entertainment we wouldnt know we never stayed round long enough to see, we only slept there, would we visit onat again... no never
