This was our fourth visit to Turkey, but it could be our last!
We arrived at the Onat apartments in the early hours of the morning to find our rooms in a disgusting state. Clumps of human hair decorated the stairs, as in the fridge, shower, and around the taps. Stale urine settled on the toilet seat and the bathroom floor. We had never experienced anything like this before.
We managed to get through the next few days, by cleaning our own rooms, and changing our own towels and bedding, but the biggest shock was yet to come. In the early ours of the Friday on our first week there was a fire in one of the apartments we were only alerted by the noise outside our room as the staff tried to control the blaze. We smashed the fire alarm to our horror nothing happened we alerted other guests by banging on doors. Whilst the staff were very helpful the owner, a blonde large English woman, was only interested in who was to blame and whether the insurance was still valid. Guests were still in their rooms. AVOID at all costs.
Thankfully K&S holiday reps moved us to Fantastic apartments within an hour. Thank God.

The Onat, while not being exactly central in the resort, was ideally placed because you got to see every other part by walking throught he streets to the front.
The staff were the best we have ever come across on any holiday. While there was some trouble with cleaning staff during our stay, the others chipped in with help and our room was always clean.
Some people were complaining about the lack of hot water, but at the end of the day it was over 100 degrees every day so who wants a hot shower!!!
Have booked to go back to this apartment in 2005

What can i say about the Onat? It is english owend by Debbie, the rooms are second to none. We were taken back by how big they were, when you walked into the room you had your kitchen and sitting room and then up stirs was your bedroom and bathroom, my only problem was i sleep walk but told Debbie the frist night and we were moved the next day no problem. If you want a ground floor room you must tell them when booking your holiday.
The food there was cheap very good neddy the chef is so funny as well, pool is big with plenty of sun beds and lots of room, the childrens pool is a fair size could be bigger but nice.
The location of the hotel was the problem it was in the old village but not to far you could walk to the main street and be there in five minutes but there are still bars around the area very nice ones.
It is clean but if you where anything like me and mum getting up at 3 in afternoon then you have to ask for maid, but if not then you are fine leave your key at the desk and it will be done, but they only give you one loo roll so we nicked them from the bars but it adds to the night out.
I would go back there but just to see the staff you where all stars see you in September.

We only visited the "onat" as we origonally booked a different resort. We transferred to Marmaris and went to Icmeler everyday.
We were made very welcome by Debbie the new owner(I have met the previous owner many times.)She showed us a few of the apartments and told us of the changes she hoped to make.
We were made to feel at home.
We had a meal which I felt was fine and the staff were very helpful as well.
There will only be 2 of us going back this year and we both look forward to visiting the "onat".

We holiday in Icmeler every year.
This holiday was a late booking, having been to the resort already in June.
AS we have made numberous good friends in the resort, we only needed the apartment as a base. The apartment would have been okay, but the upper floor containing the bathroom & bedroom, is accessed by some very steep stairs. These stairs are the open type, without a banister and more like wooden ladders. We would not let our 3 year old sleep alone, as we were afraid of him wandering. Neither my wife or myself felt safe using them.
The owner & wife came across as money grabbers, obviously I realise they are in it to make a living, but given the chance they would rip you off. Keep an eye on your change & the bar prices!
