This was the first all inclusive holiday that I have been on with my family and on our way to the hotel my wife decided to tell me that she had read some comments on this site about the hotel, "none of them were good" i.e. Rats in the pool and terrible food etc.
Upon arriving we checked in as usual and were automatically given a ground floor room as we had a baby, though my wife prefers upper ground floors and we were changed to a different room with little effort in about five minutes time.
The rooms were a little dated though very clean. The food as most people on this site say is not fantastic, though there is a different choice every night and it is a large choice (we did chose to eat out a couple of times, eggs and bacon at breakfast was terrible though don't forget you are in a different country.
The location of the hotel is quite good with a short easy walk to the shops and beach, if you fancy taking the bus somewhere the bus stop is about a 10 minute walk, the grounds itself is clean, safe and well secluded.
The Spanish hotel staff could at times be a little grumpy but this was very rare, though you should not judge as I spoke to one of them and as well as working 18 hour shifts their rate of pay is disgusting, I tipped a lot and they were extremely grateful. Plus I drink drambuie which you pay for, it costs about

Me and my girlfriend visited the Ficus we are both young well im 20 and she 17. Before we went I checked this site and was dreading going. We got there on 11 of November, we arrived in at the Ficus about 7 at night it was dark. There was a road about 5minutes long and it was dark no lights.

We got into the hotel and everything looked great we then went out to pool side to go to our room. We had to walk up three lots of stairs no lifts no that bad though, the room was really nice and clean except for the fourth night when we got back there were ants in kichen. I went down to tell staff in reception and they gave me an ant killer so I sprayed them after that didn't see another ant.

Pool looked lush but too cold, food was boring and some times cold at lunch times it was packed and we had to wait but over all I had a good time but not much in resort.

About 10 minutes from beach 7min from shops and about 5 from local super market. Not much night life but got to say entertainers were great for kids and did their best for adults. Kids have an hour at 8 till 9 then adults 9 till 11ish, staff were miserble but 2 or 3 did smile.

I stayed in the Ficus with my partner, when we arrived at the Ficus it looked beautiful! The apartments were very clean and looked after.

The entertainment was brilliant as there were only two of them who were called Ellie and Millie, and other nights there would be shows on of different things.

The hotel staff were very friendly and were always smiling and worked very hard.

The hotel location was good because you were three minutes from the shops and ten minutes from the beach, there was bars and restaurants nearby of a little charge. The food was ok but it could be better as me and my boy friend ate out for breakfast as the bacon and scrambled egg wasn

15 0f us went to the Ficus 6 adults and 9 kids.

The rooms are very spacious they sleep 4 people two in the living room on a pull out bed which has legs to make it the same height as the sofa and two single beds in the bedroom. Plenty of storage space in built in wardrobes with shelves.

There is a sports room where you can play squash and table tennis, it is 5 euros to hire the equitment but you get it back when you take the stuff back, my little boy used the room to kick his football around

The swimming pool is nice not heated though.

Breakfast is the same every day with horrible srambled egg, beans small sausages and very fatty bacon boiled eggs yogurts, two cerials (Cornflakes and Coco pops nothing like ours.) Dinner and tea seemed ok at first but it soon got boring, the salad selection wasn't very good but most of the time we found some thing to eat. The younger kids in our group lived on chips for two weeks.

The bar closes at 11.40 you can get beer, peach schnaps Malibu, Vodka, Gin, Brandy and a few more different drinks.

The pool bar opens at 11 until 6 anyone can get soft drinks and icecreams including the adults. They also serve alcohol at the pool bar.

Don't book the camel ride and the volcano trip with rep its only ten euros to do and most of the other things like the bird place and the caves are only 8 euros. Hire a car for 120 euros for five days next to Legends pub at bottom off the road and do it your self a lot cheaper. We did the whole island in 3 days every thing is well sign posted but get the map from reception called touring Lanzarote it's better than the one you get with cars and you get discount off some of the trips you go on with the map.

Hope you have a good holiday we did.

This was our second visit the Ficus, we came back here due to the hotel staff being very friendly and the entertainment staff being superb once again.

The rooms are cleaned everyday except on a Sunday, bedding changed twice a week and towels change daily.

The pool and pool area was cleaned daily, once in the morning and once at night, sunbeds are locked every night so you have to get up early in the morning to get the best sunbeds but we found its the best way to make new friends.

If you like basic food you will be happy here, the beach is about 10 mins walk and nearest shops are about 3 mins but it is nice and quite and safe for the kids.

We made some good friends and had a good laugh also you will have a good laugh with entertainment team (Amelia and Ellie.)

We will go back.

Just arrived back from the ficus September 2nd.We had a very good holiday here.

The rooms were cleaned 6 times a week, towels changed every other day and bedding changed twice a week. The rooms are big enough and the balcony is very spacious. You dont get anywhere to hang clothes or towels on the balcony so take a washing line with you! I took a big one and shared it across 4 balconies.

The pool is cleaned each day and he does take a long time to do it!Sunbeds are locked up each evening and unlocked at 8.30 in the morning. There is 1 day a week that they arent locked because its the guys day off so make sure you get up very early or you wont get a bed!

Food was very nice indeed and i really didnt understand why people were complaining about it,but after the first week i was struggling with it because im a vegetarian and the choices wernt there for me really. The breakfast was exeactly the same each morning,so we did eat breakfast out 1 day for a change (so i could have a fried egg!)

Restaurant staff are very miserable. They also work on the bars. There are 1 or 2 that are very friendly and do smile!
The entertainment girls worked so hard.(Ellie and Millie). They were great with the kids and never pressured anybody into doing anything they didnt want to do.There are a few poolside activities and water games during the day, and different things on the night time. The only thing wrong with the entertainment was it stopped too early. The bar also only serves drinks until 11-11.30 then it totally closes. So if you fancy staying out longer you have to leave the hotel.Legends and Cactus Jacks are just up the road so you can stay there all night if you like!

Costa Tiguise is a quiet resort,I like lots of shops ect so we had to go into Puerto del Carmen for a busy night.I would return to Lanzarote but i would go to Puerto del Carmen instead of Costa Tiguise. So i wont be returning to the Ficus. But if the hotel was in a busier resort i would return to the hotel no problem. All in all we had a lovely time and we met some lovely people.

So if you are going to the Ficus you have nothing to worry about!Enjoy!

We went as a group of 15 to the Ficus.

The pool was cleaned everyday apart from Sunday's.

The staff alway's had a ready smile for you and were polite. If you had a problem they were quick and friendly to resolve it.

My son had his 8th birthday in resort and the hotel staff were brillant. The cake was ok (not like the Tesco ones though lol) and cost 15 euros (there is no choice it's just a chocolate cake with writing on!).

The food was horrible but at least there were chips!! The only compliment we would give is varied but a shame that it was tastless. Everything seemed to taste of garlic?.
We ate out most day's and found the Swan Inn down the road really good. (The only place that would serve jam butties for a six year old!)

The entertainment staff were brill and should be given medal's ( Ellie & Millie) were just big kids themselves and really got involved with the kids (and the big ones!). They didn't complain when they got thrown in the pool most days.

Overall not too bad but not brill.

Food was dire and we had to eat out alot. Restaurant staff were miserable and couldn't muster up a smile between them.

Entertainment was ok, lots to do in the day, quizzes, waterpolo etc, so called professional shows in the evening were a bit naff but it passed away the hours. The two entertainment staff Millie and Ellie do work very hard and nothing was to much trouble for them, they also got a lot of stick which was undeserved.

The fight for sunbeds is always good fun but luckly we made friends with people who were quite happy to grab a few if we weren't up. Cheers for that Jane!

At the end of the day it was two weeks in the sun lying on a sunbed with our kids amused and fed without us having to really lift a finger. What more do you want. We would say go.
