Myself and thirteen other friends from our local pub stayed at the hotel Ficus. We were a mixed age group of 13 years to the fifty something. We arrived on the 22nd september 05.

The hotel is spotless, always staff around cleaning toilets pool, ect.

The pool is slippery around the edge of it, so you have to be careful.

The entertainment was ok, but I have seen much better.

The holiday rep's Shaz and Andy do their job well, but Andy could do with singing lessons.(Sorry Andy).

Staff were not friendly at all except for one or two who were great.

We were told we could have more than one key for our apartments as sometimes not all of us wanted to come back at the same time at night, but were told three days later they only supply one key per room, which was rubbish as one of our group had three keys given for one room. So it depends who you get on at reception.

The manager could do with a course in politness.

Food was lovely, lots of choice. People, please dont expect 5 star when you paid for 3 star.

The hotel is well up to its rating, although as I found on holiday you can't please some people. Women look out for the father and son on the complex, you will know what I mean when you see them.

Rooms are kept clean daily by staff. As for outside the complex, we ended up in Cactus Jacks. We would stay on the hotel complex till last orders, then down to C Jacks for happy hour buy one get one free 12am to 1am.

Entertainment was good, but check your change as a couple of incidents of over charging alcohol with our group and other people happened while we were drinking. It's all to easy to put change in your pocket without checking, so be wary.

The beach is an easy distance away and very clean with more than enough shops to spend your hard earned cash.

All in all this was a great holiday for families and groups, we are going again to the same hotel next year, so it can't be that bad.

I stayed in the Ficus from the 15th September with my parents we had a fabulous holiday.
We were on an all inclusive holiday and found the food on the whole to be fine, we partically enjoyed the themed nights such as the italian and mexican evenings. This was a 3 star hotel and people need to remember they are only paying 3 star prices.

The hotel staff were very friendly especially the evening bar staff.

The hotel was kept very clean at all times.

The entertainment staff were fantastic Shaz and Andy made my holiday I joined in with all the activities and I won lots of awards including a "Superstar T Shirt". The guys worked really hard at all times making sure that everyone enjoyed themselves. Some night we went to Cactus Jacks, which was just down the road.

just got back from the Ficus from the 29th of Sept to the 13th of October

A pretty good holiday from start to finish entertainment was fab and the daytime activities kept me busy

Food was not the best but you can't complain when it's free really.

Stayed in every night as night time fun was great Andy and Shaz really know how to entertain. The show bar was full pretty much every night with the bingo and Dynamite disco for the kids and the drinks were great too.

Apartments were always clean was a little annoyed at the view of volcanic rubble that I had at the back of my apartment and was no where near the pool so we didn't have a view to look at. (We were however near the show bar so got the music to listen to if we went in early)

I tried hard for 2 weeks to get the coveted superstar t-shirt and on my last night I finally got one some say it was a sympathy vote but the entertainers said I deserved one for my hard working effort so I can't complain with that.

Lots to do to ensure you never get bored but if you go with kids make sure you keep an eye on them as for some unknown reason they don't have a life guard on duty at all!!! I experienced that first hand on my first day there I drowned and not one person jumped in I had to try hard to get myself to the side but luckily wasn't too far away from it.

Unfortunately my last night was Andy's last night so I don't know who will be there when I go there another time. Shaz is so funny and the faces she pulls are classic and to say she is only about 4 foot tall she is one big character and I will miss her and I don't even know if she will be there if I went back to the Ficus.

Would definitely go back again next year though it is so much fun for all the family.

Los Figus, Costa Teguise.

The hotel is located in a rather residental part of the resort, and is in the middle of a barren waste ground(undeveloped land)which is particularly horrible at night because the road leading up is completely unlit - not good for girls walking home at night, the pavement is also uneven so watch your footing. the appartments are located about a 10 minute walk to the beach which is ok, but you are a little bit away from the best bars and resturants in the resort.

Although inside the lay-out of the appartments and hotel grounds is nice (although a bit on the small side, particularly round the pool) the trees and shrubs attract small sparrows and rock pigeons which I personally loved. There is also a resident cat who is the friendlist little guy ever - but he will keep himself to himself if you are not a fan. My friend and I were fortunate enough to get a top floor room with a nice sea view - some appartments overlook the waste ground outside and some overlook a white wall - unlucky if you get one of those!

The staff are curtious, helpful and efficent (except offer no help with check-in luggage) but on some occations too reserved. Try not to approach them in an arrogant manner because your card is marked after that. My personal experience of the staff was keep smiling and saying 'Hola' and by day two/three of the stay they have warmed up. Also there is a bit of a 'good cop bad cop' situation going on with the reception guys one chap in particular (no names) may seem a bit too dismissive for some, but yet another chap (no names) is really, really jolly and just funny!

The maid service was good and rooms cleaned nicely. The rooms themselves are fresh and clean on arrival although a bit dated, however they are comfortable and a good all round 'crash pad'(tip: if you want a cup of tea during the night you will have to pay for the kettle cable, just get a pan from the cupboard and boil water in that)there is also a working fridge with freezer compartment(icecube tray provided inside - godsend!!!) bathroom standard good, although the water pressure can play a few games with you when showering. (Lanzarote has a weird environmental quirk - all used toilet paper should be thrown in the bin provided and not flushed down the pan - you do get used to this eventually)

the food is, well the food just is... it is however fresh (tip: get down early for the best helpings, and when it is still warm!) latecomers may have to que to get a table. My friend and I were always prompt so we didn't have any bother, but we did eat out once or twice (we needed some Tapas!)

now, entertainment - not at all to my personal taste but to be fair, the two running the show did work hard(I heard the girl practicing her singing on several occations before the nights activities - proffessional) but personally we didn't really stick around on the complex too much so I can't really comment - but hey, I did witness 'More Tea Vicar'one night and thought it was hilarious - really like something out of a monty python episode, just... weird.

to sum-up I have said no to visiting this hotel again - not because I had a terrible time, but really because it was not suitable for two girls holidaying themselves(and certainly no good as a romantic break for a young couple). If you have a young/large family - then perfect, kids entertainment, set meal times, lots of other children to mix with, noise levels kept to a minimum after 12 midnight. Los Figus is really geared towards the family market.

Seven of us visited the Ficus in mid August, 4 adults and 3 children.

The hotel is on the edge of El Trebol 1 of the 3 parts Teguise is split into and the quietest.

We found the hotel to be kept reasonably clean with regular maid service.

The food is at best average, you can always find something to eat however there is a very limited choice. Hotel staff were polite however didn't smile very much and 1 of the receptionists was a stroppy too much hassle for me kind of guy.

The entertainment team consisted of the odd couple Andy and Sharon who i have to say worked very hard , nothing was too much trouble and we had a great laugh with them all fortnight which made up for many of the shotcomings of the Ficus Appartments.

My main complaint is the lack of sunbeds which was an absolute disgrace. If you plan on sleeping in past 9a.m you will not get a sunbed when the appartments are fully booked.

We were lucky enough to travel with friends and budgeted to eat out most of the second week which we certainly did. The Ficus is not a bad hotel, do not expect cordon bleu cooking however the pool is very nice and if you are eating out try Ferraris Bar at the bottom of the road, good breakfasts and great t-bone steaks.

Evening entertainment was usually a good laugh but if you are a lager drinker like me you will soon get sick of the Mahou (moose juice) as we named it although you are not limited to how many drinks you can get in any 1 visit to the bar and the drinking side of the all inclusive was very good also free ice creams all day for kids.

One tip though take a tray, the hotel will not lend you one (seriously).

Also visit Cactus Jacks at the bottom of the road 2 for 1 beers 12.00am till 01.00am grteat if you like a load of brits doing karaoke.

We went to the Ficus in late August we found the rooms were nice but nothing special.

The hotel was clean maid sevice was good.

Staff were freindly apart from one guy on reception who thought everything was too much trouble.

We liked the pool which was also kept clean but can become very slippy around the edges so if taking kids be careful

I've got to say the worst part of the hotel was the food they seem to have a lot of trouble keeping it hot
so get there early

The entertainment wasn't too bad Andy and Sharon work really hard and are a good laugh (Sharons definitely nuts!)

We stayed as a family in the ficus, very rude manager on desk, reported a light that was broke outside our room on our first night still wasnt fixed when we left.

Maid service very good bit sparse with clean towels and only had bedding changed once in two weeks. The patio door wouldnt lock properly, the green area around the pool stank, lack of sunbeds cant see the point of getting up at 8 to reserve a sunbed, had a row with a bloke because I got his sunbed, but been watching it had been empty till 3pm.

Food alright if you like chips, I saw the rep that was there eating, guess what he was having chips.

The entertainers worked really hard a long day for them but they seemed to thrive on it. couldnt wait to go home the worst holiday I have ever had what a waste of money.

stayed at the ficus and will never go back.

The hotel itself was very clean and the maids did a very good job.

The pool was clean and was attended to six days a week we had to que for sunbeds as there was not enough for everybody which meant getting up early if you wanted to beat people to the beds which had back rests.

The food was poor and it was repeated the second week
the entertainment was awful Andy and Sharron[scary mary]tried their best but fell well short (sorry sharron) they had a few acts in a parrot show some dancers and a magician and some spanish bloke who could play the guitar.

But could not sing a whole song in English without lapsing back into Spanish but the last night had to be seen to be believed for the adult part of the evening they staged a panto how some people enjoyed it.

I will never know there was hardly any entertainment for kids under 13 apart from a disco which lasted half an hour followed by the mindnumbing more tea vicar.

If you want a holiday with some varied entertainment dont go to the ficus.

Just arrived home today... from a fabulous fortnight at the Ficus.

We found the cleanliness of the hotel, faultless.. the maids are outstanding, as we are a very messy family, our maid deserved a medal, and she's probably having a party now we have left!

The hotel itself is well contained with excellent staff, who are always up for a laugh, they work such long hours and we found they where always happy to help. The bar staff were great fun, even taking time out to join in games, and pose for photos.

The pool was cleaned daily am and pm, by a very pleasant chap, who never rushed us to vacate our sunbeds, even when we where still sun worshipping at 6pm!

Although the pool was cold, this proved blessed relief from the hot sunshine! The kids never complained once... and spent most of there time in there... plenty sunblock is needed as the heat is misleading due to the warm winds.

The food... we enjoyed, in the first week, but felt it went a little downhill with a lot of repetition, although we never went hungry and mostly found something we liked. We did however decide to eat out a couple of times, but then again, how many people at home don't have a take away now and again...

The entertainment... 2 very hardworking and talented people, Andy & Sharon... omg! how hard do they work, VERY and they remembered every child's name! From the daily pool side quizzes, skittles, darts, pool, volley ball, water polo, French bowls, football, giant jenga to the you bet challenges. If you go with the attitude to join in and have fun, the entertainment is great. Night time they did plenty of shows, nightly bingo, the infamous more tea vicar our son,(Oliver) was king for 2 days. We loved the panto...and various other shows the reps put on, they also had local acts perform, from modern Spanish dance to the parrot show. When we asked our kids (aged 10 & 11 ) what they would miss most, they said Andy & Sharon...

We had a family holiday.. and as all parents know, if the kids are happy the parents are too!
