The Ficus was in a fairly quiet part of town, bit of noise from the road behind. Short walk to shops and bars if you really are a fussy eater you can get full English for 3eu and a pint for 1.50eu, bars are cheaper at this end of town.

Staff were great I find people treat you how you treat them staff always seem stand offish for the first day or two.

Shaz and Andy do try but Andy's singing is poor he sang Keatings "When you say nothing at all" it brought a tear to my eye!

The food after reading the reviews on here I was worried, ok scrambled egg was rubbish but always is abroad. If you want pie n chips stay at home. The food was ok all the time and great some times. Canary night and Mexican night where fantastic Mojo sauce and all.

We enjoyed our stay just have a few drinks join in and relax have a laugh Shaz n Andy are a match made in heaven

Just arrived back from a very entertaining and fun two weeks at the Ficus. We were a bit worried after reading some of the reports posted. However, we did not need to worry.

The rooms are kept spotless by the maids who work very hard.

The food at the Ficus is satisfactory, there was always something to eat, and it did however become a little repetitive towards the end. We did eat out three times, but this was due to variation not the quality of the food.

The hotel is a little way out of the centre, but only a 5-10 minute walk from the beach, it really was not a problem.

The entertainment team at the ficus (Andy and Sharon) were excellent and up for a laugh. They remembered everyone

My holiday to the Ficus, was simply the best i have ever been on, I really enjoyed every minute of it.

When we arrived, the reception staff were really helpful and polite, and helped us with everything we needed. They were also there for emergencies, for example if any emergency service was needed, it was called straight away.

Also the waiters were very hard-working. They were always busy, and although they didn't smile as much as I would have liked, they were polite when needed to be.

The food was great! I expected it to be ok, but it was much better, and there was a choice of snacks all day, so you were never hungry. And also there was always a bar open for drinks throughout the day. It was also very clean and hygenic, as there were no people allowed without suitable clothing, eg, t-shirt ans shorts were minimal.

The rooms were extremely clean as well, and the cleaners did a brilliant job 5 times a week. Because of this, there were never a problem with bugs or insects.

The hotel location was great as well! It was a 2 minute walk from the nearest supermarkets, and if anything was ever needed, it was just a small walk away, for example, the beach was only a 10 minute walk away.

The entertainment however was a little poorer than the rest. The entertainers (Andy and Sharron) tried very hard to entertain the children, but some of th games were a little tedious, for example, more tea vicar. This was a boring game, but the children enjoyed it a lot. And there were always a quiz everyday, which gave the adults something to do as well.

The club was great, the staff were very efficient, and willing to help. It was a fun night out.

I would definitely return to the Ficus, and do intend on doing so one year, hopefully soon.

Anyone who is going, just have a great time, and although the entertainment can be poor, the other aspects of the holiday make up for that.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Ficus!! We all had a fantastic time!!

The hotel and apartments were kept spotless.

The staff were lovely and very helpful!!

The pool and pool area were cleaned daily to a very high standard, the only thing that did worry me slightly was the white area around the pool, it was extremely slippy, I do think that they should have signs to point this out, as I witnessed a few accidental falls!!

I thought the food was fantastic, there was always something that you could eat, it was always fresh and plentiful in supply!! The breakfast were nice, they even had proper sausage and baked beans!! The Mexican night was my favourite tacos, enchiladas, guacemole..yum!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment!! Sharon and Andy are a perfect match they tried 100% to entertain everybody and succeeded!! We thought they were brilliant! I'll never be able to watch/listen to Pavarotti again without thinking of Andy, and Sharon has a brilliant voice!!!

All in all we had a great holiday, met some lovely people and made some fantastic friends!!!

Apartments cleaned 5 times a week. Food started off fine but went downhill - we lived on chips so ate out a lot.

Hotel is close to beach if you walk across volcanic landscape. The staff were fine not very chatty.

Entertainment the same every night apart from the odd dancer or parrot show. Not a lot for kids.

We would not go back.

We stopped at the Hotel Ficus for 1 week all inclusive from the 2nd June. What a fantastic week we had!!! You read some reports and just as we did, you think - oh no...what have we done. You go with a positive approach and you will enjoy it.

We were on the top of one of the three storey buildings, fantastic views however, getting the cases up was another matter - no lifts. That aside, the apartment was spacious and clean, nothing fancy but after all you only sleep and get ready in it - the beds were fine and the bathroom had a bath with shower over it. The maids came in everyday bar two and the sheets were changed twice.

The rest of the hotel was kept immaculate and the pool area was brill - fantastic for kids as around the pool was an artificial grass covering - non slip. You did have that age old problem with the sunbeds - there's never enough where ever you go - it was a case of - "it's your turn to get up and put the towels on today" some people even resorted to taking them upto their apartments! management have now put a stop to it all and decided to chain the beds up every night and release them at 9 am.

Food - we had no complaints at all. There was a good choice every day of a hot and cold buffet, soup, main courses and puddings, fruit if you wanted it and all through the day - you wouldn't starve thats for sure...

Location - I did worry about this as when you read some reports you get the impression its down a long dark dirt track - nothing of the sort. Yes it is at the bottom of a road with paths on both sides and yes its not lit at night(but you can still see where your going)and you do need to watch it, as it is uneven in parts but, it took us less than 5 minutes to reach the few shops and bars at the bottom of the road. You then turned right and walked another 5 minutes, cross the road to more shops and behind them was the beach and what a lovely beach it was. O.K it was breezy but trust us you are so glad of that breeze.

Only pit fall, do not be fooled into thinking you are not burning - use plenty of suncream, especially on the kids - we seen some nasty cases of sunburn, be carefull!!!

Staff, were brill! Always polite and helpfull - girls look out for the 'dad and son' you'll see what i mean - very nice!!!

Entertainment - the two of them were great and tried their best. There was plenty for adults and kids to join in with during the day. the night time unfortunately was definately not our cup of tea (vicar). You had the kids disco and games but, for adults it was pretty lame.

We stopped and fuelled up just before our nightly visits to Cactus Jacks(get there before 9.30 and its happy hour)(12 till 1, happy hour again)What a week we had there! You also have Legends on the opposite side.

All in all we thought the place was great, we spoke to people that had been there for two weeks and they said the food was the same the second week and the entertainment was similar. if your looking for a week away, with good basic food, clean surroundings and are happy to just relax and unwind, then go. I wouldn't however recommend this hotel if your looking for a wild time!

Just come back from the Ficus.
After reading some of the reviews on this site before going we were slightly aprehensive but since as we are pretty easy going and not serial complainers we went with an open mind.

Hotel and all the entertainment provided is geared up for kids. A bit of bingo and a couple of quizzes for the adults and thats your lot. Rest maily made up of kids games. Fab if you've got kids, poor if you haven't. For a good night out go to Legends. Abba tribute act were very good and everybody had a good laugh. The breakfasts there are great too.

Food provided was generally very good and the mexican night was great. Breakfasts were poor though. Bacon was swimming in grease, frankfurter sausages instead of bangers and solid scrambled eggs (no fried eggs).
Go to Legends instead.

On a positive note, the staff were generally friendly and welcoming apart from the odd one or two. The rooms and the hotel are very clean.

Also have to pay for the TV in your room. 1 Euro lasts an hour and seven minutes. If you want a safe it costs you 15 Euros for a week.

Would definitely return to Lanzartote. Take an excursion to the national park and see the volcanos and go for a camel ride. Really good and was the highlight of our week.

We stayed for two weeks all inclusive at the Ficus apartments.

The food was really nice, with a lot of choice. There was usually a range of salads, fruit, hot meals and cold snacks.

The hotel was very clean. Maids cleaned the room 5 times a week and changed bedding twice a week and towels every other day.

Most of the hotel staff were very nice and very helpful although a few members of staff were slightly miserable looking and unwilling to say hello.

The location of the hotel was great. Very near to local bars, shops and the beach. (5 - 10 min walk.)The entertainment staff were fantastic. Andy and Sharon are hilarious, they really made my holiday what it was. They are such a good laugh.

I would definitely visit the Ficus again and I highly recommend it.

I read the reviews about the Ficus Apartments and was dreading the holiday, I shouldn't have worried they apartments were really clean, although a bit dated.

The food was excellent with a good choice at every meal contrary to other reports. I thinks some people expect 5* treatment for 2-3* money.

We found the staff really freindly and very helpful, especially after my husband locked us out of the apartment with the key inside in the lock !!! That aside we had a lovely time there, the weather wasn't very good but you can't do a lot about that.

We didn't stay in the bar at night as we were four adults without children, but the kids seemed to love it.

If you have read the bad reports about the Ficus Apartments as I did, ignore them, you will have a great time there.
