Just returned from our two week stay in the Sun Palace and must say firstly we had a superb time!

Yes I agree with some of the comments made with regard to the 4 star rating, should only be a 3 star. I emailed the hotel about 2 weeks prior to our arrival requesting a room with sea/pool view. They did reply and stated they would do their best.

On arrival I was very impressed by the reception area and the speed at which we were checked in. We were allocated room No 205. First thing I checked out was the view and was pleasantly surprised our balcony overlooked the pool bar/pool ans sea. The room was a bit out dated but very clean. Air con a blessing! NEVER seen one cockroach in two weeks or a single CLOUD!!

The food wasn't bad (we have had alot better)and the theme nights such as Italian, Chinese and Mexican were a welcome change from the normal All inclusive food you would get anywhere else. Soup was always very nice.

The hotel is in an excellent position just outside Faliraki centre. There are acouple of supermarkets across the road called the 4 Aussie sisters and Maria's. There seemed to be a bit of a feud between them as they were always slagging each other off saying they both were the cheapest!

Any trips or money exchange always use Sofias travel just across the road from the hotel as they are much cheaper than the tour operator and offer a better exchange rate than the hotel.

I must say the staff at this hotel are the friendliest Ive ever met! Nikos, Andreas, Andrea and Pascalas to just a few. Animation team of Gian Carlos, Andrea (she left after our first week), Maria, Sara and Lucas really did work their socks off to please everyone. Always had a great laugh playing Darts especially when someone was OOUUTTAA!!! Bingo every night as well!! The only two outside acts were the Greek dancers (not that good) and the Karaoke night. The Guys did do their best though. Just like to let you know Gian Carlos is going to live in Miami next year and become an interior designer so will not be returning, Sara will probably leave as well if this happens. Not good news for the hotel!!

On a brighter note the hotel is getting a 6.5 million Euro refurbishment which starts this winter and will be completed in two phases. The main building first with new bar, restaurant, all rooms fully refurbed. The Annex is getting another level in Phase two which commences winter 2007. Another swimming pool at the front of the hotel is also planned.

Would I go back? YES DEFINITELY! but not until the whole refurb is complete. Happy Holidays and enjoy!!

The main problem i had with sun Palace was the Cockroaches..very large ones we moved rooms and they were there too...the place is infested with them..

Food was fine, a good selection, hotel on a good location, pool area & bar were clean & fine...if you like drinking cheap drink its the place for you..no smirnoff here.

Rooms were falling apart I think the hotel was 4 star in the 60's/70's and havent renovated since. The maids changed our beds every day but only washed the floor after we had 3 large cockroaches in our room the night before...they didnt keep the place very clean.

Spent 5 nights in the hotel before moving to the Calypso Hotel...if you like the Hilton you will like this & there is definitely no cockroaches. The Calypso is what I call a four star hotel...newly renovated & very clean

I booked this holiday 14 months in advanced and was really looking forward to it. When we arrived we were really impressed by the outside and the reception area. As we made our way to our rooms it was becoming clear that this hotel is in desperate need of re-decorating.

The room we were allocated was 208, our room was really damp, dark and again could do with a complete re-decoration. It looked like the room had not been cleaned since the previous holiday makers there was still a pair of shoes under the bedside table which had been left and the floor was stinking covered in hair and dust. We went to find the rep...but we never saw her all week !!

The food was ok, nothing special really, meat, meat and more meat. It was catering for the Germans as there was more Germans than british in the hotel...So you guessed it you had to be by the pool by 7.30 to get a bed. We went down one day at 9.00 and could not get a bed !! The snack bar was ok when it was open ! It served the usual really pizza, toastie, sausages, chips etc..

The enterainment was ok, the only thing was that they pestered you all day to join in with Aqua Aerobics, darts etc but once you tell them no its ok. Night enterainment isnt too bad..Mind they do have bingo everynight and its called in 3 different langagues so it takes a while to play !!

There is not a lot around the Sun Place, theres 2 supermarkets opposite go to the 4 Aussie Sister supermarket ( turn left and its the 1st one )its the cheapest and theres also an exercusion shop next door called Sofias and he does the cheapest trips around, half the price of the reps.

I've been to Greece loads of times and know what to expect, but to be honest Ive stayed in cleaner 2 stars to this 4 star. I would not return to this hotel, if you are expecting a 4A then dont as you won't get it.

We visited the Sun Palace in June, myself, husband and mum and dad, 3 of us were physically disabled, only my husband mobile.

The reception was very clean and the reception staff very good and helpful, we were given garden rooms, these consisted of two bungalows, yes it did need repainting, yes it was very clean and very comfortable.

The cleaners were in every day, though they didn't speak any English we spoke the universal language of hands. My mum had an allergic reaction to mosquito bites and I had to lance the blisters 4 times aday, during this treatment the cleaners came in took one look at me and mum and started to say prayers at the same time spitting on the floor, (we later found out that they were getting rid of the evil spirits and blessing mum, if that isn't great service then what is?).

The restaurant staff were very helpful and pleasant, greeted us each meal and showed us to our table and pulled our chairs out for us, they asked if we wanted any help eg get our drinks, they stayed and talked for a while, we felt very at ease.

The gardener worked very hard from 7 in the morning while late at night, the gardens were very beautiful, he didn't speak English but always had a smile and a flower for us.

As for entertainment because of our disabilities we couldn't join but they were always enthusiastic in everything they did.

Would we go again? YES most definitely next year.

The hotel was classed as a 4 star, no chance!! More like an English 2 star hotel. There were cockroaches every night in our room, I was scared to sleep in case I woke up with one on me!!.

The bed sheets weren't changed once in the week we were there, and the general state of the rooms needed a complete refurbishment, holes in the walls, wallpaper peeling etc.

The staff were helpful in getting us moved from our very noisy room to a quieter one away from the night time entertainment .

The food was ok, not great but fairly edible.

We did enjoy the entertainment teams efforts though, the bingo calling man was very entertaining and the kids enjoyed the activities. We had an ok time but felt disappointed as it looks much better in the brochures than in real life!!!.

I really disliked my holiday as it rained every day and the staff were so so so rude. The hotel was too family based and not recommended for couples. The pool was always dirty and needed a good clean. The food was a large variety but not cooked well. The rooms were ok but i could think of better. View from some rooms was over a waste sand area which was diabolical. The entertainment was always the same and got boring after a while. I would reccomend for familles with young children but for NO ONE else.

The rooms were Cleaned every day Spotless,The Morning Breakfast was All English(Every Day Thank Goodness)Dinner not too bad.Evening Meal Not very Good,But you could always find something to eat,The Soup Is Always Good.Location of the Hotel is Superd.

The Staff Are About the Best we have met, never too much trouble & always a smile, entertainment was Ok, Jan Carlos works realy hard, as do Both of his assisstants.

The Pool Is rather cold, one tip Try to get as far away as possible from the Childrens pool,(the noise is sometimes Unbearable! The Parents don't seem to Bother about what Racket they Make.

We Were In Room 349, it is an adjoining room(I Think)We Were Kept Awake Most Nights with the Snoring of the Couple Next Door 347,I Plgged the Keyhole of the Adjoining Door, alas it did not make a bit of diference,it went on from 12.45am to 6.30am, we banged on the wall & Door But could not wake them,They must have been Comatosed.

I can Honestly say Both myself & my Wife have Never heard anything like it.

Fantastic all round hotel (for a Greek 4 star), staff lovely, food excellent, nothing too much trouble for the management to sort out.

We stayed in the new block annexed to the hotel, so quiet when you needed it to be so. Air Con superb (unusual to get it at this time of year).

Entertainment Brilliant! Especially Giancarlos & the girls, Sarah & Andrea, they hadn't been there long but made our holiday, they worked so hard constantly to entertain us & the children.

We are re-booking to go back again this year!

We arrived in the early hours to find security running reception but this was not a problem as we were given our Registration form's to take to room and hand in later. The few staff we saw were very friendly and this was something we were not expecting.

We were all inclusive and food was varied and plentiful. If one thing was to be faulted with the food it was the fact it looked bland and was not presented to well.

The location of the Hotel was great, about 10 minutes stroll to the centre of Faliraki, brilliant, just far enough away from any potential rowdiness {though there was none}

All staff were so very friendly from Management, Kitchen, bar to Cleaners and this was most welcome.

The entertainment team tried there best but as they had a 'script'to work to they could not deviate from it even when no one were interested in participation {football in the mid 80s!}

I would go back to the Hotel but not until I hear that it has been refurbished. I expected it to be a little tired but not to the extent it was.

All in all we had a good time in Resort and relaxed in the Hotel garden and pool area but now need another holiday to recover from our late night's. Not of course anyone's fault, but ours.

First time we have stayed at the Sun Palace and we would stay again. We stayed in a family room it was large and cleaned every day.

The decor was a bit dated but there is loads of storage, a fridge, tv, radio, balcony and air con - everything you need.

Hotel food was ok choice gets a bit repetative but the international theme nights were a nice change. At the snack bar you can get snacks, burgers, chips, pasta, quiche and best of all breakfast if you miss it!. We read reports that the drinks were watered down but we didnt find this a problem at any time.

The animation team have got to be one of the best things about the hotel, Jon Carlos and his team, they worked really hard to make sure all the guests had a enjoyable holiday. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Falaraki.

If you want to book a trip go to Sofia's over the road, they dont charge commission on changing money either for Sun Palace guests and give a better exchange rate than reception.
