Arrived home 31.05.03 after a 1 week stay in this hotel.

We were very pleased with the rooms, very clean and tidy, a good variety of food and then we come to the pool area; this was fabulous never seen anything so nice, loads of beds no matter what time of day you went there. The pools were spotlessly clean. Although cold in a morning it did get better as the day got hotter.

The evening entertainment was of a good quality and very professional but it only lasted about an hour. All in all a good hotel and a great holiday.

The ratings that we have stated speaks for it self. Good location, Very clean, The staff are very pleasant but could improve in smiling. Food well cooked but we had pork four days running we injoy pork but not that much.

Best hotel we have been in and would recommend it to anyone.

We have just returned from the Sol Pelicanos. We have two children aged 4 & 7 and these are our comments regarding this hotel. We were extremely pleased with the cleanliness, the room, and the food which catered for all tastes. The main pool was the best I have seen, an enormous lake style with 3 jacuzzi's built into it. There were 3 other pools plus 2 further children's pools. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They have a rule that no towels are allowed on sunbeds before 9.30am which is good as it avoids the usual early morning towel run! The hotel is close to the beach and the resort itself is full of things to do and see to keep kids amused. The entertainment was good although the shows didn't start until 10.15pm and there was nothing to keep the kids amused up until that time. A mini disco would have been ideal. The drinks in the hotel itself are quite expensive but I suppose you expect that. Overall I would rate this hotel very highly and all my preconceived ideas of Benidorm were wiped out very quickly. A great family hotel/resort.

We stayed in the Hotel Pelicanos it was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Situated approx' 300 mts from beach close to plenty of shops & bars(and McDonalds). The restaurant was spacious but advisable to dine early as it got quite crowded for evening meals from 8 o'clock onwards this had a knock on effect in that the lifts were very busy and you could wait a while. The lounge/bar was on a lower level accessed via steps from foyer this was a comfortable area, with doors leading to the pool area and playground. The pool area gets 10 out of 10(the largest I've ever stayed at)it has a grill bar, kids loved the food, a pool bar and jaccuzi's.Your not allowed to reserve your sunbed with a towel ,as one morning we came to the pool and found no beds available in the best spots, near the grill/bar ,all had towels on, the staff removed all the towels and put them in a pile in the corner allowing us to put "our towels" on them .

This hotel has been one of the best hotels I have been in.

There are lots of things to do. There is just one thing - at 6.30am evry morning most pepole went down to the pool area and put there towels down and it was very hard to find a sun bed if you went down after breakfast. We did complain and staff did do somthing about that. Apart from that it was great.

Both hotels were very clean, good food and kind staff. There is plenty to do and if you are thinking of going I would go if I was you I give this hotel 10/10.

I have been to this hotel several times. It is one of the best hotel in Benidorm. You can't beat the pool. It is large and very clean. Infact it's the pool what attracts me to the hotel. The food is very good, with lots of choice. The entertainment at night is good but doesn't start untill about 10 ish so if you have got kids you will have to keep them occupied for a while if you're planning to watch the show they put on. All in all it's a good hotel situated only a few minute walk away from all the bars and the beach. I would recommend it to others. You will either hate it or like it!

Just got back from staying at the Pelicanos on the 20th May 03. Apart from the roadworks which are on a seperate topic I found a few things annoying about the hotel.

The dining room was very cramped and people had to queue at the doorway for tables. The food was varied and on the whole good value, some food was cooked while you waited and if there were a lot of people waiting sometimes they rushed food through so that it was either undercooked or overcooked (raw or burnt). One night they had a pork carvery but because we didn't get down to the dining room before eight it had all gone, we were told that we could have ribs instead.

On the whole the Hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly, the message I got from the management was that due to the road works they were not expecting people to come to the hotel so they had not booked up their usual summer staff. Pool is fantastic but very large and when we went it hadn't warmed up but will most likely do so by November.

I came back from this hotel in September 2002.

I am a travel agent for Thomas Cook and got this hotel 'allocated on arrival' out of the Thomson Price Breakers brochure (a choice out of 3 half board hotels). I had my heart set on this hotel out of the 3 and was so pleased when my Thomson representitive at Alicante airport told us that we would be staying at the Sol Pelicanos!!

I went with my family and we had two separate rooms next door to each other which was handy (room 1233 and room 1234 - easy to remember!). It was a late flight out so we didn't really explore the hotel much until the morning when we woke up.

I can't believe people complained about the food!! I stayed in Pelicanos and there was so much choice and the evening meals were varied every night. At breakfast there is everything on offer - full english to yoghurts! There are even bottles of champagne in iced buckets to be drunk!

Sunbeds around the pool are generally not too much of a problem, as we went as a family of 4 though, four are usually quite difficult to find altogether! There is constantly a life-guard around the pool area, but beware... he blows his whistle and shakes his head at EVERY opportunity.

The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from Levante Beach and just out of the way from the lively bars.
I would definitely recommend the Sol Pelicanos hotel to anyone and have booked a few customers at work who have returned and thanked me for my reccommendation!
The rooms are large and clean, maid service regular and no horrible cockroaches or insects in sight!

we have been to benidorm 5 years in a row now and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. it was very clean at all times and room was cleaned daily with fresh towels . the food although a bit repeatative was good. the location was ideal for us as most the night time entertainment was only a few streets away. cant fault the staff but in saying that never really had any reason to deal with them much. as the weather was rotten when we where there we didnt see any daytime entertainment and we always went out at night so cant give a comment on it

We have visited this hotel several times and have not been dissapointed on any of our visits.

Both the Sol Pelicanos / Ocas are sister hotels with the Ocas being the smaller of the two.

The complex has the largest pool on the Costas with plenty of sunbeds at any time. The food is great with plenty of choice for everyone. One word of warning however, in the Ocas request a floor above the sixth level as floors below this look out at the side of the indoor market.
