The only good point about this hotel was the location as it was close to all amenities.

Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful! Meal times were hectic as there were not enough tables to cater for the amount of guests. Staff lacked even basic manners.

Reception were no help whatsoever and didn`t even have a basic understanding of english. Kids club was in spanish and french no english! Pool was very small and sunbeds were booked by towel from early morning. Entertainment was NON EXISTENT!!!

Would never visit this hotel again if I was paid.

THe hotel Belvedere is in a good location, it is about a minute walk to Salou's main roundabout, from here you can get to anywhere in Salou. It is about a 10 minute walk to Port Aventura.

The food in the hotel is not very good, there was nothing much that appealed to us during the week, although there was different food everynight. The deserts all looked lovely, but then tasted horrible. We practically lived on pizza chips and rice on a night.

If you do not want to eat in the restaurant on a night, we recommend going to either Buddys or The Vines (beautiful Sunday dinners).

The size of the rooms in unbelivable, there was 3 beds in our room and we had about 6 inches space between the beds and the wall on each side. The bathroom door did not shut properly, the shower did not work properly. The rooms were very very clean though, our beds were changed every 2 days, and our towels changed every day.

The staff were pleasant, some of the reception staff were a bit grumpy and there was a security guard walking round, a very scary looking woman.

We did not stay in for any of the entertainment, but what we heard of it, it was ok.

They have a completely stupid rule that you are not allowed inflatables in the pool. There are more than plenty sunbeds, you are guaranteed to get one, even if you go down at 1pm.

This hotel is definitely not recommended for families, we met one family there from London, there were 4 beds in their room for 5 of them, the 5th should have been a cot for their toddler, reception had no record of her even supposed to be there. The rooms are far too small to accommodate families.

The food for children is very very limited.

We would not stay in this hotel again, but we would go back to Salou.

Another thing that we did not like was the loads of Germans with absolutely no manners what so ever, they give you dirty looks everytime they see you, and push you out of the way all the time. Plus in this hotel most of the guests are really old, so young people (like us) are considered awful in this hotel by the other guests.

We visited this Hotel 2 years ago but with no children and were satisfied with the visit so we had rebooked for this year. This visit seemed very different. The accomodation itself was fine, although every room had 3 beds in, even though only 2 people in room so made it very cramped.

The restaurant staff were friendly enough, did smile and say hello and there was good food selection, although often moderately warm. There is a griddle for fresh cooked eggs, pancakes and omelettes on a morning and fresh cooked meats on an evening. Also smoothies to drink. There are also microwaves if you can be bothered to re-warm your food.

The rest of the hotel staff were very unfriendly, they never smiled or tried to talk. The Poolside was ruled with a rod of iron. There was no happy holiday atmosphere and no inflatables allowed in the pool. The Hotel was patrolled by a very fierce looking Woman Security Guard, in contact continually by radio, which we found quite intimidating to say the least. Also a very bad tempered Life Guard. (Very vigilent, she even dives in and saves you when you don't need saving) Nice to see her get wet though ha ha!

We had a bad experience of this as my Grandson is only 3 and has development problems so has mental age of only 18 months. He is afraid of many things and always holds things in both hands. We managed to eventually get him in the pool by letting him hold a small inflatable ball but were immediately told we had to remove it from the pool. We tried to explain his situation stating that he would not throw or push it but he just needed to hold it in his hands, but with no understanding. We took the child and ball out of the pool and the next thing we were approached by the Hotel Manager who demanded we go with him to his office. He was very angry, said we had no respect for his staff and demanded we pack our bags and leave!! We were totally amazed at this, we have never had any problems with any other hotel we have stayed in over our many years. This reaction seemed totally over the top to the situation, luckily we managed to difuse the situation.

The other problem with the poolside was that there were no outside toilets and you had to dress to go inside. Children did not make it and they also poo'd and wee'd in the pool!

There were only 6 parasols around the pool for the whole hotel which were not nearly enough and Spanish were reserving the beds with towels under them and then they were left empty most of the day! They were very angry if any one removed them!

The Bar Staff were extremely slow especially in the outside bar. One day it took 30 minutes to get a plate of chips and there was no one else at the bar!

The entertainment was fine and the dance shows were very good, especially the Russian performance. Fantastic acrobatic dancing! The staff for the kiddies club and entertainment worked very hard.

The location of the hotel was fine, being close to the beach, shops, bars and Port Aventura.

Overall we found this a very child unfriendly hotel, many people with families stated they would be writing in to complain and suggest the tour companies take this hotel off their listing.
We would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone and maybe it will surprise you but we will NEVER book this Hotel again!!

When we arrived it was very late, but the reception guy was very helpful in his funny English.

The breakfast was well organised and lots of it, you had a choice of eggs, bacon (although they do not eat 'normal bacon' it more like plastic), etc or continental - even fruit ( which sometimes was not the best quality ) The great guys behind the BBQ area cooked you fresh fried eggs, pancakes and omelettes - and you could have as many as you liked. They were very friendly and often joked with you whilst you waited in the line - which can be long as very popular !!

The evening meal was very varied - but loads of fish. Again teh guys in the BBQ area freshly cooked chicken fillets/burgers/fish/pork chops. And tehre was always a roast something available with not bad gravy. There was always soup, bread, chips, loads of salad stuff and the separate kids buffet bit always had something that any kid would eat. There was also a mini 'Italian area' so every night you could have fresh cooked pasta/spaghetti with a choice of 3 sauces(some where NOT nice ) and always fresh cooked pizza.

The rooms where of a good size, we had 3 single beds and still lots of room. Patio furniture on the balcony which over looked the pool - so a bit noisy in the morning when the Aqua Aerobics started - cause they liked the music load - infact all day by the pool, but that was good. The pool area did have loads of cig buts around, cause smoking is a must in Spain, which did annoy me but the Resturant is NON Smoking.

The hotel has a small jacuzzi, turkish bath and sauna which you can use (free of charge) from 4pm til 8.30. This was good but as so many Spanish people use this hotel it got a bit annoying when the came in mass down to the jacuzzi(no matter what time you where there).

The Staff where very friendly accept for the female security guard - all she did was shout at people to put thier shorts/tops on when you came in to the hotel from the pool- has she not got anything better to do !!!!

The Hotel was in a brillant area - just 10 mins walk from the beach/town area and 15 mins (up a steadly climbing hill) to Port Adventura so you dont have to pay for more excursions !!!

The hotel was rubbish it looks nice and is nice for the first few days but then it goes down hill fast. it appeared that they didnt want us there and they wanted us out from day 1. the staff are very rude, slow and dont really worry if you have a problem they say they'll deal with it later. the entertainment wasn't worth staying in for, they said bingo was good but it was all in spanish so we couldn't understand, every night was spanish its ok if you into that. the location was very good near to the theme park, town and beach good job really because we didnt like staying in the hotel except for sleeping that was enough. i dont really think the staff like children as the kids buffet was only on the first night and there was never any kids fun time like its noted in the brochure. it was a dissapointing holiday overall and we will not be returning to the beledere in the future. we would not recommend it to any of our friends.

Stayed at the belvedere on half board basis food good plenty of selection. Hotel rooms very clean and hotel in general has been head housekeeper in 4 star hotels so I knew what I was looking for.

Location is good short walk from shops, beach and port aventura but nice and quiet at night. Hotel staff seemed miserable apart from our room maid who was pleasant.

Entertainment was basically different dancers each night. Mini disco our friends girls loved it they are 10 and 7 but our son is 2 not ideal for him. Play area was a bit dangerous as it wasn't bark or cork on floor but stones.

We would visit this hotel again though, location and cleanliness were good and we did venture out of an evening so entertainment for us with a 2 year old was not really priority.

Hotel was clean and well maintained.

The food was average becoming more repetitive as the holiday went on. Dishes were not removed from tables until after you had left.

Hotel was well situated, close to bars, restaurants and walkable distance to beach and Port Aventura.

Staff were polite but service was slow in the bars.

Night entertainment was very disappointing and decided to go elsewhere at night.

We also thought Salou was very expensive.

we stayed at this hotel for the first time this year.when we got of the coach we noticed that the hotel was close to portaventura theme park but ten minuites walking time to salou.the hotel was very clean and very big.but that is all that was good about it.the bar service was terrible, the food was awful, every bit of food seemed to be fried and was sitting in the fat still.my wife took ill for three days because of it.the pool is very small and not enough beds for the guests.we had to report our tap leaking which took ages to fix, plus the maids never left any towels for us or loo rool we always had to ring down to the reception.at night we went to another hotel during the daytime and evening as well.we only slept in the hotel.all in all we will not be going back.

When we first arrived at the hotel we had great expectations for a really enjoyable holiday, but the way the hotel was run left a lot to be desired. The pool area was very dirty, cigarette ends were nearly always to be seen under the sunbeds first thing in the morning, and on a few occasions glasses & cans. At meal times, although the food was OK, the dishes were never cleared from the tables until you got up & left the table, meaning the tables were always cluttered with previous courses dishes. The entertainers worked very hard, & the proximity of PortAventura would make this a good base in Salou, if they could clean up their act. I would not go back to this hotel if it continued to be run in this way.
