I have just returned from this hotel after staying there for two weeks, the food was absolutely disgusting only ate there a handful of times.
Trying to get a table for your dinner or breakfast was absolute bedlam you had to fight to get a table it was very stressful so in the end we ate out which we hadn't budgeted for !!!
The hotel had 1500 guests of which 350 were English so you've guessed all the entertainment was for the Spanish. The rooms were very tiny and very hot and the noise every night kept you awake. We were in block 3 which was dead opposite another hotel, everytime someone walked across their balcony a security light came on not just one the entire blocks!!!
The hotel staff weren't at all friendly and didn't seem interested if you weren't Spanish all in all I would never visit this hotel again !!!!!!

25 people 11 of which children and the food was disgusting. Beds were made every day but the sheets were changed not once. The location was good which was one reason to stay.
The hotel staff were not at all helpful and at times were very ignorant, I would never visit that place again. there was also a theft of one of our group members bags and we basically got told tough.
They never guided us to the police and never let them use there phones to report the theft. We waited for are rep and she sorted it as the staff was very un - co operative.

First time I have visited this hotel. There is room for improvement eg air conditioning for starters, very noisy at night from surrounding clubs thats goes on till about 5 in the morning.
food: The breakfast is very unbearable same with the evening meals. They are edible but always the same. Again, in my opinion, the food is not cooked properly.
Rooms are very small and ill-equipped - all squashed up together.
Entertainment is the same throughout, catering for the Spanish.
I would never stay at this hotel again and really did want to leave after the first few days. Loved salou though - lovely place

We had a fantastic holiday. The food was good with an excellent choice and the only thing that the hotel does lack is air conditioning but you can live without it.
Staff and entertainment was also good with Spanish entertainment, if you want English stay at home. Pools were clean with lifeguard.
Location is excellent, near to beach and town.
We would not have come home if we had money left and are hoping to go back within the next month.

Nine friends and I travelled her for a long weekend.
We found the hotel rooms to be clean, maybe the pool could have been a bit cleaner but we went to the beach every day so didnt really use the pool.
Had heard some bad reports but we had a great time.
Location was great and although food was basic it was lovely.
For the money we paid it was great value and we would stay there again.

I had read the reviews and was very concerned about taking the family there, but did not consider changing so decided not to tell them.
It was of a standard that I expected for the cost of the holiday if you want a 5*Hotel then choose one !! They all have a negative side if you look for it.
ACCOMODATION
We were in Block 3 at the back. The room was of a standard size with bathroom we had 4 beds, not a lot of space but it was clean and maid service everyday, clean bed linen once in the week, 1 of the beds was a settee which we could use if we wanted, and a patio, no air conditioning but we hired a fan for the week for 10e plus 10e deposit.( I was aware of this before I went ) I did not go on holiday to spend all day in the room only to use it for Sleeping, Rest and bathroom facilities.
Very spacious grounds with trees for shade , 2 pools with children's pool, adequate sun beds and chairs, Children's play area, mini golf, arcade, gym and indoor pool and outside Jacuzzi, sauna
We never heard of any breakins,and the safe was secure
FOOD

Hello...well I'm gobsmacked at some of the comments regarding the Jaime 1 as I must be the most fussy person in the world and I found it ok! Yes, the food did get rather samey but it was edible...cheap and cheerful really. The hotel was clean although the pool was a bit murky so didn't venture in there!Our room was well furnished and clean and the shower was amazing...very powerful. And there was always tons of hot water. The staff were polite and helpful and the entertainment was fine...all in Spanish but then we were in Spain so what do you expect?! All in all a good cheapo hol in the sun!

All spanish entertainment. No english at all. Brochure advertises differently. My children and others we met were bored.

i have recently stayed in this hotel and right from the moment i stepped in, i did not like the look of the hotel. The place was dirty and the staff looked very passive and unwelcoming. The room had 4 single beds all squashed together, dirty floors, and hardly any room to walk around. The food was not edible and there was not much choice. The pools were of a nice standard. I will NOT be returning to this hotel.
