Location
Location of hotel was behind a bar/restaurant off main street - very noisy between 10pm and midnight.
Breakfast served 8am - 10am Food was poor, bread, melon, tomatos, cucumber, bolied eggs - same eggs served all week!! Very strong stewed tea and coffee. Food often ran out due to large amounts consumed by Russian guests. No entertainment despite being peak weeks. Hotel fine as a base only.

The room was small but cosey and was clean, the was 3 single beds a small balcony and bathroom, we was on the 3rd floor so we could overlook the view of icmeler the view was beautiful, mountians upon mountians.
After putting our cases in the room we went down to breakfast there was no juice and lack of food, we then complianed to the rep but this was sorted by dinner time the was still a small variety.
The workers was very helpful throughout the whole holiday and couldnt ask for better workers and we all got along with ramsy singing to hero by enrique and ermit dancin somtimes and the odd dance. Threw the time that we was there, there was only 1night of enetertainment, i think the hotel should cater for everyone and more entertainment, but overall i loved it and as the days went by we grew closer to the workers and enjoyed most my time there, i would certianly visit this hotel again !!!

First when we arrived in the hotel they told us they only had 1 room book for us but after 1 hour of discusion at 3am in the morning and showing my booking paper they give us a tiny second room with one double bey in the 1st floor when the other room was in the 4rth floor. I requested 2 rooms one next to the other on my booking. the next day I manage to get 2 rooms but not next to each other. romm size were so small that once they were adding a double bed and a single bed in the room there were no space to open the window or walk.
I lost the keys of one f the room and ask for a spare key it took them 5 days until them give me the spare key and charged me

When we arrived very tired from delayed flights and long transfer & slight heat exhaustion. We were delighted to see our hotel well lite up beautiful marble steps leading into the a well decorated reception, we thought this is going to be a great place to stay. We signed in and were asked for our passports to be photocopied when asking why they just said it was procedure, we were then asked if we wanted air conditioning oh yes we said, they replied this is 18,YTL per day extra, and did we want a fridge for water yes we said thats another 24 YTL but that was for the whole stay, we paid again for this, then they asked if we wanted to use the safe one in each room they told us, we said we did, they then tried to apply another change which we refused to pay at this point 7 YTL PER DAY. We just wanted to get settled in to the room after the long day we'd had. We were then lead back out of the hotel round by the pool to the side of the hotel down a few more steps, to what can only be described as a pool house which had been converted to makeshift room for five, consisting of 2 double beds and camp bed, one window and shower room with toilet that was very smelly , unclean and unfinished with electrical socket hanging off wall with exposed wiring, the room was dark and badly lite with 1 out of 6 ceiling spotlight working, At this point i felt like crying what had we come to. our children aged 17,15 and 11 we less than happy, but being the people we are we decided to make the most of it. i did complain to the staff the following day regarding the socket in the bathroom and the smell coming from it which i can only describe as strong urine, which in fairness to the hotel staff they sent the cleaner in later that day to clean and the smell went but it was short in lasting. The electrical sockets was not looked until 9 days later and this was only done as the power failed in our room and i myself pointed the socket out to the electrician that had been sent, we were told it was not good for the power if we kept our air conditioning on all day, which i thought was a bit of a cheek after all we were paying for it.
Internet at the Alara none existent! but plenty of excess around resort.
Breakfast was very simply, which consisted of bread, cucumber, sliced tomato, fresh melon, butter & jam and boiled eggs, strong tea or strong coffee, everyday! nothing catered for children in the way of cereals fruit juice or milk. As we were advised not to drink the water we shopped at the supermarket drinking water and fresh juice, one day after arriving back with said items we were approached by staff members to say we was not permitted to bring drinks for the outside, if we wanted water we would have to buy it from the hotel, later that day poster were displayed warning guest if items were found in hotel rooms or fridges they would be fined 15 YTL each time. i could not believe it, after all we had paid for the use of the fridge.
The staff at the hotel were very polite and were happy to assist you in any way they could. The only entertainment was the staff playing music via loud speakers via MTV or one staff member constantly singing a bad version of Hero by Enrique Iglesias. Bless!
I would say that the longer we stayed the worst things became. The hotel is owned by two men, which were always around but never said much, i believe they were both married, one having his wife and children constantly around in the day but not at night, on a night time there were many different faces around mainly very young Russian women which rise a few eyebrow amongst guests believing these to be working girls, as they were well catered for, early one evening around 5.45pm a stream of girls seem to appear around the pool in barely nothing, men believed not to be staying at the hotel stood looking on. i felt physically sick and Annoyed! as it was plain to see what was going on.
We would never go back to the Alara Hotelor recommend it to anyone!

We were very, very disappointed with the room - we were sold a triple, (1 double, 1 single bed) and foolishly I thought this might mean we would have a bit more space. Not to be - this was the smallest hotel room I have ever, ever stayed in and we were disappointed with the "French balcony" - read door in the wall. The room was cleaned regularly though, but I thought they were a bit stingy with the toilet paper - buy your own otherwise you risk running out! The air conditioning leaked, although to be honest I really couldn't be bothered complaining about it, although if we were there for 2 weeks I would have - I probably would have asked to get moved to a bigger room as well or for them to take the single bed out !
The breakfast was appalling - being Scottish I was operating on the principle that having paid for something we were going to have it, but it was nothing special - bread, hard boiled eggs, melon, cheese - and some truly awful stewed tea and bitter coffee, and you had to pay extra for juice or water.
I wasn't aware of any entertainment going on at the hotel, apart from Ramse singing Hero - 6 times in a row one day - which to be frank was a funny the first time, then rather grating. Overall I thought the staff were quite friendly, but I felt the the choice of music was theirs rather than something that the guests would like to listen to. The lunch/bar menu was ok - nice omlettes. The pool was nice, and I thought it was quite clean.
The location was quite good for us - not right in the middle of things, although that then meant there was about a 10 -15 minute walk to the beach.
Overall though, we were really disappointed with the hotel and would not recommend it.
