after staying in a different hotel for 2 years on the trot & being treated like dirt (the manager did not like the english) we had already made friends with the owner & his son at the Marcan Hotel In Hisaronu. We have been going there sometimes twice a year since 1999. We love it. The staff have always been very friendly & make you feel so welcome, there is nothing they wouldnt do to help make your stay as perfect as possible.This is a very nice hotel for Turkish standards, very clean, very hospitable, the food is great.The bar staff round the pool so entertaining. We were treated like family & are still in regular contact with them even after migrating to Australia.We would definately recommend this hotel, we found every one there very honest & felt safe leaving our goods in our rooms. We never had a problem with taking food & drink back to our room, but if some people do they can always go in through the side entrance & miss the reception entirely !! Location is brilliant, you have the peace & quiet if you want it or 2 minutes walk away you have the nightlife & hustle & bustle of a thriving village. We found the prices very good & service excellent.If we werent so far away now we would still be gloing back there year after year.

Great overall hotel, went with my partner for a week away, the staff there are so friendly and welcoming and we've made friends for life and still have regular contact with some of them.
The rooms are very basic and rather dated but you dont want to be spending much time in your room anyway no tellys or radios - we spent most of our days on the poolside sunbeds which are always available!!
Your room will be cleaned at your request everyday if you want - you just leave your room key at reception before 12 the maids are lovely they make the rooms feel as welcoming as possible and always insure you have all that you need!
There isnt any nightly entertainment but trust me the bar staff will make sure to entertain you - it is a great atmosphere during the day and the night the bar wont close untill the last person leaves (this may bug some people as music will be blasting till all hours in the morning).
The staff are always so lively and will be dancing on the bar great fun, they did have one turkish night which is at an extra cost not much though and is worth seeing.
The food is great we went halfboard the breakfast was basic but they would cook fresh omlettes for you if requested which are lovely, dinner is a meun set dinner which has quite a good selection and the food taste great!!
Make sure if you are halfboard that you only order from the halfboard menu as they do have seperate meuns, The veg pizza is highly recommended!!
Overall I would go again only downfall was the basic rooms with no telly, but thats only because I missed watching eastenders haha!
The beach is lovely to but you do have to catch the bus to get there, the bus stops are at the bottom of the hill as the hotel is situated on top of a mountain!!

Arrived early hours to warm welcome. Changed room to one with double bed and air-con that worked! Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. How do they keep so cheerful?! Nothing was too much trouble.
Hotel grounds superb, pretty gardens, kept clean (maids swept daily), tortoises enjoyed the lush green grass. Gardener worked daily too!
A bit disappointed the Turkish night cancelled as not enough interest, especially as heavily encouraged to attend! But hey-ho.
All staff lovely (cant recall all their names, but their charm & smiles will stay with us!)CJ cute and funny, and lovely lady on reception, Ali & friends waiting at breakfast and Turkish dancing in the bar at night!!
I would recommend a stay here if you would like a quiet, pretty hotel (you can always pop over to the Telmessos (sister hotel opposite) for karaoke and more entertainment! Short walk onto main street, ideal location as central. Rear views to pine covered mountain. Clean pool too! Overrall I would give 8/10.

We have just returned from our holiday at the Marcan Hotel and what a wonderful place. The breakfast is Turkish so if you don't like olives, honey, feta cheese then breakfast is not for you, although they will cook you a full English for a small charge.
Make sure you hand your key into reception if you want your room cleaned.
All the staff are friendly and make a huge effort to make you feel welcome.
The turkish night is the best with lost of entertainment from the staff at the Marcan Hotel as the staff from the sister hotel Telemessos were rather grumpy. Will definetley come here again.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. They tried very hard. Made friends with the barman Kenny, great guy nothing was to much trouble.
Alright the hotel is up a bit of a hill, but we had no problems with it even with two young kids.
I can see that people in the past have said it a bit dear for food and drinks, but we found it to be on par with the bars in Hisaronu. A beer was 3.5 lira some of the other bars charged 4 lira.
The hotel and grounds are kept very clean.
The breakfast was basic but,so are most of the other hotels.
All in all a really first class hotel, and would visit again, lovely swimming pool, had no problems getting a sun bed, snacks and restaurant food was good, cleaners very friendly, and efficient.

This is the place to go.
It was the best. We have stayed there 4 times now and booked for 3 weeks in 2007.

On arrival at hotel we were informed that the hotel was actually closed and that we were being moved across the road to the sister hotel.(this was by the rep).
When we got into reception at other hotel we were informed that the marcan would stay open for one more week, so off we go back across the road.
Anyway got to our rooms and ours was so dingy i went back to reception to complain.The problem was sorted out straight away and we were moved next morning.
Staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful,although it was plain to see that they were ready to close.
Rooms were very cold at night and I mean cold. We went to bed with more clothes on than what we had been wearing to go outside.
I think we went at the wrong time of year. It would probably be a better hotel high season. Also no hot water for most of the week.

The Marcan was a comfortable size set in a scenic and plesant location surrounded by pine trees and mountains.
The actual accommodation is set in beautiful gardens and is snug but not claustrahobic. The breakfast was served between 8 and 10 but I felt that it was very good what I had of it but after some of the partying was not up in time to enjoy!
The room was comfortable to fit me and my room mate but three people would be a push! The bathroom was clean but got very slippy could of done with a mop.
The staff could not do enough for you and even if there english was not perfect they still tried. There are some real characters there staff wise and are worth getting to know.
There was a lack of entertainment but as the resort itself is so busy its nice to have somewhere peaceful to return too. The Turkish night was fab though lots of participation from the audience and the fire show was breath taking!( it is done by a couple of the staff).
I would definitely visit again me and my friend hope to return some time.

This is the first time we have stayed in the Marcan we found it to be the best that we have stayed in we have been 4 times in the past.
All the ratings are set low as I did not want it to look a fake to give you something else.
Today I have just booked to go back in 2006 to the Marcan for 2 weeks.
