Room 2333 in Catalina buiding is quiet and looks over beach, you have to look through the trees but you can see and hear the sea. Pool rooms are horrendously noisy. Quiet pool rooms are away from main building over the car park.

To be honest playa dorada is rubbish. But the discos are good.

Golf course, shopping plaza, helicopter rides, monster truck excursions all very close by.

The resort was lovely enough to do inside the resort with a complex with a variety of bars, shops and food outlets including a pizza hut, even a golf course if you were interseted.
We went on 3 trips while we there which were all worth doing, the reps tell you at your meeting not to book with anyone apart from them as you will not be safe.
This is a load of rubbish we did all 3 trips with the same beach vendor jurassy tours(neury) these were a brilliant comapny and you were well looked after, also you got to see a lot more with them than you did with the reps and it was cheaper.
We did the buggy tours, jeep safari and catamaran all for $150 about £75, the jeep safari was by far the best trip but hard work we went to the waterfalls and we had to climb up 7 of the 27 it was hard work but really good fun you got all the safety gear a helmet and life jacket, this is something you dont get to do with the reps, but is something everyone should experience while in the dominican during this trip we went to a cock fight, a typical dominican house, a veg market and through lots of traditional villages there was always time to get a bit of sugar cane on the way.
If you do this trip take plenty of sweets for the kids they will chase the jeep for miles asking for sweets and they are so grateful when they get some. Everyone in the dominican is so friendly and will always make you feel welcome.
I would go back to this resort tommorrow if i could. Miss it every day it is so relaxed and easy going.

The resort felt very unsafe, couldn't go walking outside the hotel at night time. The Security guards looked like they were going to rob us. Beach was reasonably clean but all the sun loungers were broken, you get pestered non-stop by men and women trying to sell rubbish.

The beach was nothing special no white sands and no warm blue sea, a rather dirty sea greated you and sand that could be from spain, didnt go out of resort, no quiet time on the beach always people trying to sell you something and needed a good firm fifth no to make them leave. Didnt leave me speechless this resort.

The beach was as stated in the brochure, a 10 minute walk or a tractor ride away, yellow sand and not very clear water, but the beach restuarant food was great and very clean. A 10 minute walk along the beach to the left and the sand turns white and the sea is clear, great for snorkaling (after the stream)thats more like the caribbean images. You really need to get out on some of the well organised trips, and see the real Domincian and meet the locals, we can recommend the Jeep Safari,(with the waterfalls) What a great day out. The only small negative would be the beach sellers, they will try and sell you their goods on the beach, but if you just say no, they do leave you alone.

This is reflected in getting to the right hotel. We moved from the Dorado Club to the Barcelo and it is a real gem. Superb. Rated as a 4 star and it lives up to it in grand style. Everything about it is spot on. The resort has everything you need for adventure, entertainment, golf! and relaxing.

Resort was small but friendly a good bar for sports for all those football fans out there and a club in the evening as well - a very quiet resort but very clean and nice.

The resort was very clean and any problems are quickly resolved.
As I already said the entertainment was dissapointing.
The beach is lovely and the sea is warm. Can get very rough particularly at the end of the day.

The beach is cleaned every morning and the only mess is the mess made during that day, its a lovely sandy beach and the water was bath temperature.
