Can't say if the pool side rooms are better but we were in room 901 and the road was noisy and a cockerel crowed from sun up till sun down.

We loved the wooden promanade from the marina fort all along the beach to the main area of bars and restaurants in the town, dotted along it's length were purpose built bar/cafes with external toilets, and thier own identity
It is a good place to sit and have drink or a meal and look at the view
The resort is a good place for a relaxing holiday, felt safe at night not too rowdy

Lovely beach, resort looks a lot like Benidorm with the high rise buildings, lack of activities for the kids.

The beach ran the full length of Praia Da Rocha and was very clean and pictureque, some parts required you to go down steep steps and wouldn't be suitable for some people. The resort was clean and people friendly with lots of bars, shops and restraunts along the main street. We all had a fab holiday and would stay in this area again.

We visited in March and it was very quiet.
Go to the Palmar cafe , lovely food and very friendly staff. They do lovely chicken baguettes

the resort is clean and nice, the food is good but the beer is around 3e in most bars and is mostly sports bars or Irish bars. entertainment for children is non-existent. the beach here is fantastic and so clean. it was my favourite part of the resort.

You must go the chinese Asia we looked at the set menu and though it looked too cheap. Past in the taxi the next night and it was busy so gave it a try. It was fab we had the set meal, prawn crackers, a kids meal, a bottle of wine, a large bottle of water for under 40 euro's. Needless to say we went back. The cocktail bar on the main street was good esp the happy three hours.
Really enjoyed the place would go again.

The resort itself was a little walking distance from the complex approx 10mins over a small flyover and up a little hill - the access out of the complex towards the beach was shortened if you went via the pink canopy - the beach I cannot compare to any other I have seen even beats the Dominican Rep.
There were still lots of bars open however not much to see apart from soaps and football - its seems due to end of season no quizzes etc provided due to small number of holiday makers - restaurants plentiful all offering specials however try Chinese called Asia to the right of the strip - the meal for 10.65 euros was delicious even the little one enjoyed his meal and he was made to feel special which he liked the attention.
The boardwalk all the way across the beach was great forgot to mention this earlier.
Went to Zoomarine for day out this was ok although time to come back was 4pm and missed the 4D show - the dolphins and sealions were great and entertaining.
Visited the resort of Alvor and did not enjoy this - the village streets near the harbour were full of dog dirt and didnt look nice - would not visit there again.

We went in october and the weather was about 25-27 which i was really pleased about. Beach is very close and beautiful...on the sea front there are loads of places to eat, we were spoilt for choice! When we arrived there was a range of different day activities we could book at reception such as:
zoomarine world- dolphins, sealions, exotic birds etc
slide n splash- big aqua park
day trip to Sevilla in spain
trip to a gypsy market
All in all i thought the holiday was really enjoyable, good location...simple accomodation but you get what you pay for!!

Between 2 resorts, both alvor and praia da rocha, so loads to do, either peaceful or lively. Lovely restaurants in Alvor and good entertainment in praia da rocha

Praia de Rocha is a nice quietish resort with plenty of places tio eat and drink whtever you fancy, the beach has a new boardwalk with plenty of restuarant/bar/cafes and clean toilets.
The beach has beds and umbrella's to rent through the day or you can take your own, there is plenty of room on the beach wich is kept very clean and tidy.
