Stayed at this hotel in April 09, Food was ok if you like everything with chips! Breakfast was the best meal, proper sausages!!
Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels if required. We were given a room with 2 bedrooms which was great, although the decor is very dated. We didnt go to the entertainment as it seemed to be geared towards the 'older generation' and didnt seem to kick off until 9.45pm.
For me, what let the hotel down was its location and prices for extra's. (

Myself and my husband turned up at the hotel at about 10-30am, we were told that we could not have our key until 2-00pm, as we were all hot and bothered, we had to hang around and wait, I asked at 1-45pm if our room was ready, but the unfriendly staff on the reception just told us to go away, they never smiled all holiday, just wanted to get rid of you from the desk!!!
Just glad that we stayed in and just waited for our room as a old couple with the lady in a wheel chair, decided to take a walk, but was mugged, and all the time we were there we heard stories about being mugged, so be very aware, as you get off the coach and are bending down for your cases, you get people robbing out of your back pocket, we were told by a lot of people that they were told by their reps on the coach to their hotel, but thompson never warned us at all, where this hotel is , it is rife.
When we booked we ordered a pool view, which was on our booking, when we had our keys, I asked if it was pool view, we were told no, when I asked why not, he just said no, and waved us away, he said no gaurantee, so why was it on my booking form? But he would not listen at all, customer care they dont know about, apart from the desk staff.
Food was alright, hotel was spotless, but the location was not good at all, fair do it was central, but not safe, Entertainment was excellent, I would not go back to this hotel and i have been to Benidorm the last 3 years, but will go to the top in future.

Just arrived back last saturday. Hotel was spotless.Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed when placed in bath.Staff were friendly and very helpful.Food was good with a wide range of choice made available.Sunbeds were taken very quickly but there was'nt many round the pool before me.Entertainment was ok, in the rooms we found it a surprise to get our local television station central news,Great if you like emmerdale and coronation street,plus sky sports in your own room.Hotel location was great central to everything and just a ten minute walk to the market.Will be returning to the hotel again

we stayed in the ambassador for the 2nd time in 3yrs
thoroughly enjoyed it
the hotel is so clean
there is a spa on the ground floor that has a swimming pool sauna and turkish bath and it only costs 7euro for the day there really good value and ladies loads of treatments available and at a 305 discount for holiday guests
would deffinatly be returning

stayed in the playa 2 every thing was good only dissappiontment was we were at the back of the hotel view was awful the hotel was full so we could not move to a pool view which costs 3 euro each per day extra

We arrived at this hotel and the weather was raining. this was the theifs paradise due to a lot of the elederly folks having brollys up and trying to get there luggage from the coach.
i have been to this hotel before with friends in Sep so decided to take my son and husband for a break. the food was very much the same day in day out and not a choice at all for my 8 year old. he lived off chips and ice cream!!
Very dissapoined with the entertment as un like our last stay there was none of it part from bingo! however my had goes off to one nice man who played pool with him one day.
The outside bar was not even open and nothing to do

We stayed at Ambassador over last five years in November.
Hotel reception staff not very pleasant, but hotel very clean.
Good choice food.
Excellent location and all ages.
We never stayed for entertainment so can't comment on that.
My friend was followed back to her room in 2008 at tea time and she was robbed of her phone an money, staff didn't want to know and the police didn't either they said they couldn't understand English, so do get a safe and don't go home alone.

stayed in the ambassador playa.hotel was clean and tidy as were the rooms. very disapointed in the food.the only good thing about the dining area was the manager(i think ) he was very pleasent and helpful to everyone.we requested a low floor but the hotel had no information for this request on their forms. we were put on the 5th floor we asked if they had anything lower but the man on the desk said when we book we shouldnt ask for low floor as their low floor starts at 5th floor.tried to explain that we need to ask for rquests when we book but he didnt want to listen.although i know that the requests are not gauranteed. we have stayed at other hotels venus and presidente which is where we will be going again.

Had a great holiday at this hotel.
The ONLY complaint is that Sunbeds are booked with towels from 8.30am., and it is about 4.00 - 5.00pm before you can get any. My wife went out at 9.30am. and went into complain after sitting on chair behind FOURTEEN sunbeds with towels, but NO people on them for over an hour. She pointed out that signs say STAFF will remove towels after 15 mins. All she got was a shrug of the shoulders. This went on for the whole 7 days of our holiday, and not once did staff remove any towels. Lucky for us that I would rather sit on chair. OK, complaint finished.

Bar prices were good for hotel prices, 2.60 euros for a pint of lager, but it was 2.90 in Western bar,(next to and owned by hotel) but the entertainment in there was brilliant, and it is NOT just Country & Western, as it also has a different tribute act from main hotel every night. The entertainment at hotel was also very good. The same tribute acts that are in the "free" entertainment bars in square etc. are on every night.
A game of bingo every night if you want it inside hotel. Also line dancing and ballroom dancing.
I would return to this hotel again.
PS. Don't be put off with my complaint about sunbeds, as you can always buy a cheap inflatable and put it down to lie on.

WoW what a hotel,,,got up every morning at 8.15 to get our sun bed,s,,,a bit of a pain but you've got to exspect this on most holidays.
FOOD,,,amazing.
STAFF,,always helpful.
ENTERTAINMENT,,fantastic.
LOCATION,,the best.
Been to this hotel for the last 7 years "BRILL"
