Clean and modern resort with lot's of shops selling the usual Turkish designer gear. They don't drop their prices much though and can still be expensive.

Cannot really comment, only visited town once to the market, which is huge mainly selling clothes, leather goods, sweets and gadgets.
Due to All Inclusive hotels in area loads of shops were vacant but main town looked lively in evening.

Belek has a characterless, purpose built centre containing shops selling all the usual fakes plus chemists and money changing facilities. The hotels run a tractor to it and from there you can get buses to Side and Antalya easy enough if you want to. We only used the hotel beach so cannot say what the public beach was like. We would visit one of the hotels in this area again.

belek built purely as a tourist town shabby, untidy,all the streets are being relaid so it is an accident waiting to happen with open trenches and manholes along every street a no go area lots of fake stuff but expensive

Belek is clean and quite upmarket but not much to do in the area, expensive to get around. Nice beaches, good market on a Saturday and not far from the airport.
Probably would not go again as nothing much to do around.

Belek market on saturdays,good fun but be ready for plenty of bartering! they also prefer the euro rather than ponud or lira.

Not really viewed outwith hotel however bypassing Belek it looked run down. The road outside hotel like industrial estate but within complex lovely.

You really do not have to leave the hotel complex. A private beach and enough pools to satisfy everyones taste. Ok the sand is a bit gritty but this appars to be the norm in the area.
In the local area are some fantastic golf courses. Although I am a golfer, this holiday was not a golfing one. It really did bring a tear to my eye to see such wonderfully laid out and manicured courses and not be able to have a round on them. Well not this time anyway!
The local town of Belek is served half hourly from all the hotels in the street by a tractor and trailer which costs 2 lire per person. My 2 year old thought that is was fantastic fun and made us go back on more than one occasion. Belek town is a town purposely built for the hotels. It is therefore not cheap and it is not old even though there are ruins. (Known by the reps as the plastic ruins). There is however a market every Saturday which is huge! You can pick up anything you want from fresh fruit and veg to gifts. From snacks to fake designer clothes and bags. Haggle and get a real bargain. Don't be afraid, it's expected. Great fun was had here and it comes highly recommended for your gifts and momentos not to mention your wardrobe.

hotel was clean that was only good thing about Belek. Nothing for miles and shops are very exspensive as euro is the currancy.

The only negative comment i would make is the location, the nearest village is a 10 minute taxi ride and all the shops are clothes shops and hassle you to buy from them.
