This hotel is a long way to walk to resturants. It's not a pleasant walk and I would advise you to take a torch as they have power cuts most nights. I didn't feel very safe at night even with my husband by my side. Two very very noisy bars opposite Esra. One was Sky bar. Rubbish food and a howling dog that they put on a table as party act. There were stray dogs walking around every where. The second bar Zanzibar was just a joke with the waiters stopping every half hour to shout and dance. This went on untill 3am every night. All 5 of us had to sleep on the 3 hard as rock sofa beds in the living area to escape the noise. The room was extremly small for 5 people and we had one wardrobe to share. The supermarket was sooooo expensive with hadly any food on sale !! The staff were very friendly and the cleaners were reasonable. The food on offer was very expensive and not very nice to be honest. Most people seemed to be eating bags of crisps all day. I starved. BBQ night was a rip off so we didn't bother with the other theme nights. The slides were very good and I think that the times that they were open was fair as there was someone at the top telling you when it was safe to go down. Never again. Never. Never.

Me and my family came back from Altinkum on the 18.08.2008. The holiday was amazing. The hotel was excellent. The staff in the hotel made your time in the hotel very enjoyable. (JJ, Mehmet, Jason!, Ronaldo, "Turkish man", Alex, Oktay & Rose). The BBQ night is a must. The food was delicious and you could have as much as you wanted. The Esra night was grate fun and the Turkish Belly Dancers were very entertaining. Karaoke night was good. My sister actually made me sing with her Mariah Carey - Hero. Movie Night on Sunday i found quite boring. Some of the waiter's danced such as Alex, Ronaldo and Mehmet they had so much energy! The song's did get a little annoying because they danced to the same ones everynight. Watch out for Jason's dancing. Talk about entertainment.

The room's were spotless. The maid came in every day. bedding and towel's were changed every 3 days. The floor could have been mopped alot more oftan during the 2 week stay.

The pool was cleaned every mornings. All the time i would sit on the balcony with a drink and watch the pool being cleaned. The pool-side didn't open untill 9.00 am but people sat downstairs with towel's waiting to reserve sunbed's at 8.30 am. personally.. I thought this was pathetic. But if you wanted a sunbed then you'd have to do the same. Some people would bee really pathetic and stand in frount of the sunbed's. Most of the time they got asked to stand away from the sunbed's. One morning we was going on a boat trip and i watched the people waiting for sunbed's and i saw a woman waiting. She had grabbed about 12 towel's and the second you could start putting your towel's down. She actually ran to the sunbed's. Me and my mum laughed at how silly she made herself look. There were people during the 2 week stay at the Esra who would get the exsact same sunbed's everyday. On the second week of our stay. It got worse. One guy was waiting by the side of the pool sor sunbed's at 7.30am. Which i thought was a bit over the top. Music was played around the pool all the time. I rememer thinking "God .. They Must Like Whitney Houston Here". Music was only played really low in the day. I cannot comment on the waterslides as i did not go round to that side of the hotel during our stay. I wish i would have now.

The food at the hotel was lovely. It also cost's about the same as it does in the UK.

The store within the hotel was sometimes handy. But if you want a less cheaper option, next to the sky bar across the road from the Esra there's a newsagent's were you can find thing's like Water, Toilet Roll & Snack's alot cheaper.

The Hotel is located about 10 minutes away from Dolphin Square. And if walk just down the road from the Esra you can catch a Dolmush (Bus) on the "main road."

All together. Me and my family enjoyed the holiday. We loved Altinkum. And our time at the Esra. we are booking again for the 03.08.2009 next year! (: _ox

We only stayed once to eat at the hotel due to rather high prices. We stayed for the Esra night, which included a buffet style starter followed by a plate of mash and rice and a few bbq items, then a dessert of mousses, or fruit, and the price included turkish dancing (

This was our second time in turkey the first being 6 years ago.

We arrived and went to our room which wasn't huge but adequate for being a base. It was a one bedroomed apartment with 2 single sofa beds in the living which when they were down made it a little cramped. Could have done with more wardrobe space for the ones sleeping in the living room but hey what teenagers use the wardrobe!! The bathroom was nice and big with a huge shower although the toilet hadn't seen bleach for a while. The balcony faced the pool with the slides and was big enough to sit on in the evening.

Sheets and towels were changed every 3rd day and beds made and bins were emptied daily. Floors were cleaned but only every couple of days and then they used a bleach solution which splashed onto some clothes and stained them. The rest of the hotel seemed clean. The pool was cleaned daily although towards the end of the second week i noticed bugs swimming around which put me off going in.

We only stayed around the slide side pool as the boys and husband liked the slides!! I agree that you had to get up early to put your towels out and sadly i did become one of those people although we only left our beds to have breakfast!! What annoyed me was that one person put towels out on beds (about 6) and sat on them for 20mins then didn't come back for 4 hours.

The staff seemed pleasant and came round the pool area booking for evening entertainment but just a simple no thanks was sufficient.

We did book a bbq night

The rooms were spotless and cleaned regularly.

The hotel food was lovely especially the turkish dishes.

The staff work long hours but were always friendly and cheerful. The entertainment was very good. There is plenty to do during the day, table tennis tournaments, games in the pool, water polo, water slides.

We had a turkish bath on our last day which was very nice I would have gone more than once if it had been the beginning of our holiday.

We would definiately go back it was the best holiday we have ever been on.

Stayed at the Esra for two weeks at the beginning of July, rooms were adequate, and cleaned daily, sheets and towels changed regularly, had to supply our own toilet roll but this was very cheap from the shop across from us, most of the staff were friendly, cant comment about the evening entertainment as we went out every night into Altinkum. If you stay here visit the bar across from the Esra, Zanzibar, great set of lads who would do anything for you and had some good times there, If anyone goes to Zanzibar say hi from the gang from Burnley.

booked in this hotel for 14 nights and stayed for 4 it was like a war zone, children running along the corridors all night people knocking on doors till 4am in the morning. The sky bar and Zanzi bar opposite the hotel were in competition against each other as to who could play the loudest music and this went on until the early hours of the morning. Couldnt get a sunbed after 10am. luckily holidays 4 u were sympathetic and arranged for us to be moved to a lovely quiet hotel. Never go there its not a holiday its like a holiday from hell
