This is the worst apartments/hotel I have ever stayed in Marmaris (been to Marmaris 8 times).

We checked out of the apartments within 3 & half hours (booked in across the road Imperial hotel/apts very clean) no way could I or my family have slept/eaten in such a dirty apartment!

A musty/dirty smell hit us has soon as we walked into the apartment,I have never seen such a small, dirty apartment. Lounge/dining area - curtains & nets were really dirty nets did'nt fit the window (2 foot too short)2 smelly sofa beds, rusty table & 4 chairs, Kitchen cupboards were smelly when opened, Bedroom - dark room no sunlight with 2 beds with flat mattresses hard as rock, no lights working, Bathroom (about 2 1/2 foot x 2 1/2 foot)- Floor flooded with water before we even had a shower (no bath) Button to flush toilet broken, No towels asked for them given 2 towels between 4 people. Opened the patio door to be met by diesal/petrol fumes needless to say we had to keep the door closed. Apartment to small for 4 people & I really felt unsafe in the apartment as the door had big bolts & locks on.

Very little sun on the pool area.

We love Marmaris as I said before been 8 times to different hotels & I would return to all of them but not this one I would sooner stay at home.

If your are thinking of staying at this hotel please think again!

We will return to Marmaris but not to the Baris.
It is in desperate need of an update and a good clean!

I stayed at Baris apartments, hotel only 3 weeks ago April 2006. I stayed here alone, the season had not yet started, but it was so nice there was another girl staying here,as it was the first day of opening on my arrival, bed and breakfast I booked.

I cant fault it at all, nice food ,service fantastic, all staff are so friendly and warm, nothing seemed to be too much trouble at all.

Hotel located so close to the action, but not too close to hear noise. Really clean place. I liked everything about it.

Ive booked to go back again in 4 weeks then again in summer. I loved it and would recommend to anybody.

The ,anager is lovely too. I will probably always come to this hotel now, providing all the staff stay inluding the cleaning ladies they are so nice also.

Myself + my partner went to the Baris on the 15th April. When we arrived at 6-30pm we were greeted by the receptionist who was very nice. We were shown to our room which was on the ground floor.

The room we were given was very spacious and of a decent size, it was also very clean.

The staff were very friendly to us. we had our room cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels and bedding as well. The cleaning staff were very nice they use to sprinkle rose petals on the bed after they made it, which we thought was very nice thing to do.

There wasn't much entertainment at the hotel because it wasn't start of the tourist season, but that didn't seem to bother us.

The pool at the hotel we found to be of a decent size there was always plenty of sun loungers for us to sunbathe on. Myself and my partner use to stay round pool all day because it was so peacefuland quiet we couldn't fault it.

The hotel did nice meals but as myself and my partner were based self catering so we didn't really have to order food but when we did it was ok.

We are hoping to go back to the Baris next year in May we really enjoyed it. We would recommend this to anyone as the staff there were brilliant nothing was to much trouble for them. We didn't have a thing to complain about it was well worth the money what we paid.

Stayed at Baris in one of the prison cell like rooms. We were in on the top floor of the hotel and our room was attick style - the ceiling sloped down to about 4ft in places.

You literally had to bend down to get out onto the balcony. Room wasnt very pleasent either and was glad we were only there for 1 week. The bed linen wasnt changed at all, the floors and the bathroom was filthy.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was in a good location. Pool was pretty small & covered in shade for most of the day, but after seeing other hotel pools in Marmaris - this seemed pretty standard.

Would definitely go back to Marmaris but would pick a better hotel next time.

Be carefull when booking Baris Hotel/Apartments as there are two different areas.

The Hotel has small cell like rooms and with 3 of us you would have to climb over somebody to go to toilet. After arrival and 10 hours travelling I went downstairs to see the hotel manager and was moved to the apartments that are a bit nicer with fridge and cooking rings.

However the rooms were never cleaned when we were there also no toilet paper supplied. The only good thing about the Baris is location I would go back to Marmaris but not the Baris.

We booked this hotel as an exchange from an all-inclusive hotel we had previously booked in Icmeler.

I am so glad that we did as I think we could well have become bored with eating meze for the entire holiday. Self catering meant we had a fridge, kettle and cooking rings, with all the necessary kitchen utensils to go with it.

Everything was tidy and clean when we arrived in our rooms. The maids came in daily to sweep the rooms and at least twice during our fortnight did a complete clean of the apartment. Although we did have to ask to get our towels and bed linen changed, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and accomodating, and would immediately do as we asked.

The hotel reception was clean and well organised, with safety deposit boxes, currency exchange (at a far better rate than we were given in the UK prior to going) and an internet room.

The pool was somewhat smaller than I had been hoping, although when I saw the size of some other hotel pools, that at the Baris seemed huge!! Never-the-less, the children loved it, and there was plenty of room in and around the pool for those who wanted to stay and lounge at the hotel for the day.

There were several power failures while we there, which affected whole areas of Marmaris. The shops seemed to carry on as normal using torches etc, although many of the hotels in our area did not have back up emergency generators. I was delighted that it seemed the only hotel in the area to have power was us at the Baris, who had back up power and continued to function as normal! Go Baris!

The pool bar served drinks and food. Although the table cloths could have done with a more regular change (they were a bit grotty by the end of August) the food was decent and served quickly, at average prices compared with those at other bars and restaurants.

In general we thought that the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and a credit to the hotel. The best fact was that they did not harrass in the same way as all the other bar and restaurant staff do as you walk past. To be honest, I got quite fed up with all the harrassing and cajoaling etc of the Turkish blokes towards the end of the fortnight, and the hotel seemed like a bit of a sanctuary from all this.

My biggest credit goes to one of the receptionists. When our Jeep Safari trip got messed up by the rep so it looked like we wouldn't get it, the receptionist at Baris took me and my kids out to meet up with the jeep safari while it was en-route. He drove us possibly 15km out, in his own car, to meet up with the jeep safari, so we only missed the first hour or so of the trip in the end. We thanked him heaps at the time, but I wanted to write this here to demonstrate that this is the sort of kindness that you get from the staff at Baris.

The hotel entertainment was limited, a Turkish night (of sorts on a Sunday), a pool table (which was quite expensive) and a telly showing DVD's of popular films occasionally. But I think one must remember this is a small hotel, with limited space and funds. If you want a grand hotel with amazing facilities and constant entertainment then you will have to pay more for a higher star hotel.

At the Baris, you have a nice place to stay, with friendly staff and perfectly adequate facilities.

I stayed in the Baris, and would recommend it to anybody! Comfortable location, nice-looking building, great pool, with plenty of beds in the sun and a bar in the shade. What made my stay perfect was the friendly crew. They organise a great entertainment night, with dancers and music, and a very tasty buffet. Next time I'll be there again!

Pleasant stay at this hotel.

Under new management for beginning of 2005 season. Could not fault the staff for looking after you.

Hotel is a little tatty after several years of poor management. Am told that a major re-furb is due at end of this season.

Good basic hotel, suitable for families.

Decent sized pool, though shaded for part of the day.

Ideal family location away from all the hustle and bustle, but only a short walk to the main drag.

I travelled to Turkey alone to meet up with some friends.

I booked my flights and the hotel overt the internet and there was no problem at all. I had even requested a room next to my friends and this was arranged.

The staff where kind, friendly and very helpful. The facilities were always clean and more than acceptable, above avarage for Turkey.

Breakfast is the normall continental you would expect but the food in the evening and lunchtime was beautiful and reasonable.

The location of the hotel is great, just enough away from the noise not to hear much but only a 5 min walk to the beach.

The Baris Aparthotel, staff and exceptional value for money made my holiday. Thank you Baris

On arrival at the Baris Hotel we were made to feel welcome and reception was very helpful with our luggage. Reception is open 24hrs this was very useful to us as we arrived at 5am.

The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Rooms were cleaned everyday. We were at the Baris for 2 weeks and bedding was changed twice weekly. Towels were changed every second day. The cleaner was a very nice woman who was always smiling, we left valuable items in our rooms and nothing was ever touched.

My daughter celebrated her 21st birthday there and the management and staff all rallied round to put balloons up for her in the bar area and also provided entertainment for her birthday.

The bar staff were extremely friendly and joked with you till you decided to go to bed. Nothing was ever a problem to these people and that is why we have all decided to go back again in September.

I would never consider going to any other hotel and will be returning to the Baris many times.
