Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

we went to vegas for our sons wedding and while i wouldn't have missed it for the world I would only go back if I was a gambler,which I,m not.The hotels were a sight to see and I'm glad we did.the strip is to busy for my liking but we took the opportunity to see the shows in the different hotels which were fantastic.

We went on a self drive trip in a hummer to the Grand Canyon West with Looktours through ww.alllasvegastours.com and their service was excellent.
Don't bother with the Folis Berge show - it was rubbish and we actually fell asleep during the show! on the other hand the Cirque show was really worth it.
We had dinner at the top of the Stratosphere which was OK but we had better meals for less elsewhere so I would just suggest visit the tower & rides then eat somewhere else.

Cleanliness only gets a 3 as it is sometimes littered with the adult cards and magazines that the touts are giving out.
Apart from this we found the resort clean.
Entertainment is excellent and there is something for everyone from expensive shows to completly free shows. If buying tickets for a show, tickets for tonight inside of the coke bottle near MGM offers tickets at up to 50% off.
Free shows include the fountains at Bellagio, Volcano at Mirage, Sirens at Treasure Island, Carnival at the Rio and Freemount Street experience downtown.
The local buses are very good and are $2.50 offstrip or $5.00 onstrip for 24 hours. We travelled everywhere on them and spent no money on taxis which we heard were quit expensive.

Well cant give a comment on the beach....there is none.
Resort entertainment....well there is so much to do isn't there....yes it's tacky and bling but that's what you expect of Vegas .I loved it.....we were a bit limited with us having a teeanger with us....we couldnt sit and have a drink in any of the hotel lounge bars but we did go and get drinks and hang around listening to the various bands.But it didn't matter really as there was so much else to do anyway.I personally cant wait to go back.....2009 Vegas here I come

las vegas is an amazing place full of life and energy. everywhere is so clean.
you are spolit for choice as regards to entertainment. we were lukey to have bought tickets to see celine dion, what an excellent show.
a trip we would highly recomend is the west canyon ranch overnight stay. this was fantastic and total relaxation after the husle and bustle of the city. mike the cowboy entertained us well around the camp fire.
the whole holiday was fantastic. can not wait to return.

i havent stayed at this hotel, i stayed next door at Leows Hotel, which i recommend. But i did vist Montelago village many times. It is beautiful, quait little shops, gorgeous retsuarants, harbour, water taxis. Very romantic place, with a beauitful setting. It is a good half hour from the strip, which is nothing if you fancy an adventure out.
Montelago village is a lovely peaceful place, i am going back for sure. lots of weddings going on then. Look out for the summer entertainment on staurday nights on the lawn by the harbour. Hope you enjoy, its such a perfect place.

Another must is flying over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter and landing at the bottom. An experience I am glad I did (even though I hate flying) I didnt feel at all nervous as our pilot explained everything that was going on. I would do it again tomorrow. What a trip!!
All in all Las Vegas is out of this world. There is so much to see and do it would be impossible to list everything. I have fallen in love with the place, and cant wait to go back there. It was for me a holiday of a lifetime!!
