Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

What can you say!! Fantastic! Food, entertainment, shops, grand canyon, friendly people.
Sure will enjoy our next visit and really looking forward same we got to wait 9mths.

The local law enforcement should do more to get rid of the people who hand out the " adult flyers " as most of these end up discarded on the sidewalk. Our little one was very amused at the pictures on them !

Considering that the resort is in the middle of the Nevada desert, I am unable to comment regarding the beach standard.
The main resort, i.e. the strip itself, is kept immaculately clean, and there is continual cleaning going on 24/7 so no problem in that respect.
However, outside of the main tourist areas it does become a little seedy and run down. The obvious answer, like us, don't go there.
The entertainment in Vegas itself is mind blowing, as every hotel along the strip has its own spectacular free shows either inside or outside, and regardless of whether you are staying at that hotel or not, you are made fully welcome.
The whole place is continually buzzing.
One place that must be visited, which is in the opposite direction to the strip, is the fremont experience, again a free show, and one that is best seen in the evening. Using the same bus ticket that you used to go into the strip, for which incidentally there is a bus stop right outside the Stratosphere, it is only a 20 min. ride away, and must not be missed.
A magical city, with everything for everybody, and you don't have to be a gambler to enjoy the resort. We would recommend this place as a once in a lifetime experience.
Having said that, we are going again next year, and we generally make it a rule never to back to places once
we've been. That's how good it is from our point of view!!

Vegas is an adult playground..surreal by day and by night! You either love it or hate it...luckily we loved it! Hubby had been before about 20 yrs ago and couldn't believe just how much had changed...we enjoyed everything about the resort....the airport is virtually on the strip so there is no long transfer time after you get off your 10 hr flight, which is a bonus! Vegas seems very clean itself even when you get away from the Strip. Would love to come back and party some more!
