When we arrived at the hotel a porter took our bags up to our room without expecting a tip (although we gave him one). The rooms are a decent size and have air-conditioning which is an absolute must as it gets very warm. Although there is not much storage space you can quite easily manage to live out of a suitcase for a couple of weeks.

The location is perfect. It is nice and quiet and relaxed. There are a few shops and plenty of restaurants. A 10min dolumus (bus) ride away is the harbour and centre area which has lots of shops (at the bazaar) and restaurants.

The hotel staff are absoulutly brilliant. They are very nice, happy and friendly!! They will come and sit with you and have a chat about your life and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the Turkish people. When they ask how you are they genuinely want to know you are ok. My family was very easily accepted into the "Club Viva family". We will never forget the waiters especially Omar who was a little angel!!

There was entertainment every night although it tended to be repeated (i coulde almost tell you the breakdancers routine off by heart). In general it was very good. A great way to learn about some of the Turkish culture. The barbeque evenings which were on once a week were a great laugh and the food was delicious (i can still taste the kebabs). Every night the waiters do some traditional Turkish dancing which is great although a bit of a shock the first time you see it. They come around and ask you to join them which my family did. We ended up dancing with them every night which was great fun!! Zikki (one of the waiters) did a dance every night (not sure if he is still there as he was thinking about leaving) which he wore a wig for. My dad told him he looked like Tina Turner. Much to our surprise and hilarity he then named his act this and even put it onto the entertainment board.

When it was time to leave we got a huge send off from the waiters complete with kisses and hand shakes. Club Viva was definitely the best hotel i have every stayed in. I will definitely be returning!!!

We arrived back from Turkey a week ago and we had a great time. One of the main reasons for this was the fact that the hotel (the staff, in particular) was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make us and the rest of the guests feel welcome and almost part of the 'Club Viva Family'. In fact we went away with a number of extra family members, email addresses and phone numbers.

OK so the entertainment was not great...in fact sometimes there was none, but the hotel staff are truly enough entertainment. They really are quite mad...but in a good way! I have never stayed at a hotel quite like Club Viva before, the staff do not just say hello and take your drinks order. They sit down with you and have conversations with you, they ask you about your life, your family, everything, and they are genuinely interested and care about what you are telling them.

We were self catering so I can't say much about the food but from what other guests told us the food is very nice and no one had any upset stomachs or any other complaints.

The hotel has a number of shops and restaurants near it and it does not take long at all to walk into the centre of Marmaris. But even if you don't fancy walking it's extremely quick and easy catching a dolmus (a bus) from right outside the hotel. Yes, there is a mosque next to the hotel but to be perfectly honest I only heard the call to prayer a few times for the whole two weeks that we stayed there and it didn't bother me in the slightest.

We loved Turkey and Club Viva so much that we are going back a week on Monday!

After reading the horror review by Maria here and at holidays-exposed we were prepared for the worse, however overall it wasn't that bad, it wasn't great neither. It was just fair/poor.

All self-catering guests are on the top floor, there is a lift and a set of stairs so access is no problem. The rooms are relatively small, with a seperate room containing the beds. The air conditioning unit (

The room was big and clean and the air conditioning a god send! I'm a fussy eater so didn't like the food much but what I did eat there was nicely cooked and no 'funny' tummies in our family.

The staff were all excellent and always asking if everything was ok. The beautiful mosque next door was a bit noisy at times but when in Rome... The pool and surround was clean and there were lots of floats etc for everyone to use which I thought was a really nice touch.

Our only complaint was the behaviour of some Brits from Liverpool.(Other brits from Essex and Scotland all well behaved). We only stayed a week and were woken about 3am on 4 seperate occassions by the family arguing, fighting and smashing glasses etc. Makes you ashamed to say you're British sometimes.

Worth the money we paid for the holiday and would recommend this hotel.

We arrived at the Club Hotel Viva,2 adults and 2 children, and given at family room over looking the pool, and unfortunately the local mosque (which announced its prayer times 5 times a day via 8 loud speakers, just what we needed at dawn!). On arrival at this Hotel Club Viva all looked OK, at first glance. But just how sorry we are for entering this hotel.

they advertised a childrens club and there was no Children

Arrived in hotel and first impressions was that it was quite a small hotel to offer all inclusive. Our room was spacious although not much wardrobe or storage space for 4 people and all there belongings for 2 weeks. The room was spotlessly clean.

The food in hotel was very poor to start with only a small choice of meals usually salad, chips, soup, rice or pasta and one meat dish, with only fruit for dessert. At the time of our stay a lot or guests complained about the food quality for a 4 star hotel and a meeting was arranged between the manager, guests and reps, the manager agreed to improve this and some guests, ourselves included were offered the change of hotel at a cost(
