golden sands was lovely,much smaller than sunny beach but with loads of pubs,restaurants and shops.couldnt believe how cheap every thing is.nice range of tours if you like to see a bit of the country.we did the two night trip to istanbul which was amazing.lots of russians and ukrainians in golden sands,but most people speak englishat least a little.we are going back this year,but to another resort as we found golden sands a bit limiting because of its size.

We found the resort very clean and tidy.
Entertainment was excellent and the beach was very nice.
The only downfall of the resort were people going round trying to get you to exchange money on the streets.

The resort is fantastic, beautiful, clean beach which is cleaned every night.
The pools to our hotel is just across the road but it has had a lot of changes done to it I believe they have taken some of the slides away think maybe a bit smaller now.
There are loads of things to do and the days out to different places are fantastic, and we found all the people there are very nice and helpful especially in the hotel where we stayed, a day out in Varna is great and the buses run about every ten mins, and must say that the sand gets very very hot so dont forget your shoes, and there are lots to do at nightime.
The promanade(think thats what you call it)is spotless because it gets cleaned by a water truck every morning,and the little trains that run up and down are a must.

Golden Sands is quite a large resort with a beautiful beach. The main road can get sometimes quite busy, but very rarely with cars, more with people, bikes and the mini-train, so watch out! There are lots of bars, most offering some sort of entertainment, and very friendly. Try one of the cocktail bars - excellent. Shopping is different, mostly centred around little stalls, but you can get some good bargains. There is an area where the "ladies of the night hang around", but apart from that we loved the resort, the culture, the people, and it was so cheap.

There are plenty of things going on, as we had a 9 year old child with us , didn't sample to much of the nightlife. The waterpark and the new ten pin bowling were excellent. Hired a bike ,played mini golf all the usual things children like to do. Went on a couple of trips to Varna using the local bus,there is an excellent park which is huge,different things go on in there through the summer, has it's own beach mainly used by the locals but just chill ,smile and enjoy the cheaper prices than Golden sands. The city itself is nice and we ventured out for evening meals there once or twice, great place for promenading. The downside of Golden sands is the uneven pavements, the people handing out flyers and the cheap GBA games(parent pester power sorely tested LOL)

Resort had everything we wanted - we don't have any kids but there seemed to be plenty for the kids to do.
There's even a McDonalds too! The restaurants we visited were very good and the wine and entertainment certainly made us laugh. Would definately go back to Golden Sands as we found it very clean and the people were lovely.
Didn't see many prostitutes (thank goodness!) - I think it depends where you go!

plentiful bars, restaurants. Very reasonable. Some restaurants had live music which was exceptional. Beach very clean and sunbeds reasonably priced. Took a pirate cruise, was fantastic. Found a nudist beach by accident at the far end of the resort. Had cocktails on 16th floor of a lovely hotel. Everyone friendly.

I like this resort, many stalls to shop at, some selling more traditional bulgarian wares. Some good places to eat. A good selection of sports, although these were either end of the resort, but whichever way you go from the middle isn't too far to walk.

Resort was nice, weather was unpredictable though.
Bulgarian people friendly, willing to help, and things are cheap (although what you pay is what you get in quality) in all nice resort.

Golden Sands is the perfect resort for families. There are loads of good restaurants/ bars/ cafes. Most having free entertainment provided too. Beach is wonderful and everywhere in the resort is clean. We go back year after year.
