Room 2333 in Catalina buiding is quiet and looks over beach, you have to look through the trees but you can see and hear the sea. Pool rooms are horrendously noisy. Quiet pool rooms are away from main building over the car park.

Playa Dorada itself is fine like a little self contained village.
The Plaza is the only place to go which is a combination of shops and bars.
Be careful when your out and about or thinking of buying anything, they take great advantage of the way we view the peso againist the pound.When your hear the average monthly wage try to remember it's comparitive and our cost and way of life is very different to theirs.We got done for a 1 hour guide at the cable car, asked for a tip of 20 dollars 12 pound to us which isn't much. But over there that's a months wages!!

Playa Dorada was fine - good if you like golf.Shops again very dear and a bit repetitive. Some items were a bit 'Blackpooly'.
Beach was clean and sandy with plenty of shade - get there early if you want a parasol though.
Lucky Lucky men everywhere but leave quite quicly if you ignore them.

Really nice safe resort. Beach was very nice and clean. There is on shopping centre in the resort but some of the stuff here is very over priced. As you spend most of your time in your own hotel you dont really venture out that much and the entrance to the resort is guarded by armed guards!

The resort was very clean.
The entertainment in the afernoon was quite good, except they dont take no for an answer when they try to get you uo to take part. They played different pool games each day which were good as you could get to know the people who where staying there.
The night entertainment was very very poor in deed very disappointing. We played cards every night whilst the entertainment was the OKEY COKEY!
The beach was great BUT you had to get up quite early to get a lounger and put your towel on it.

Playa Dorada was very nice resort to stay in. From the time we pulled in to the resort, the security made you feel instantly safe and the security men were very friendly, they became 'our amigos'.
We walked around the resort, popped into a few other hotels and even managed to watch ENGLAND in a bar but I would have to say (sorry other hotels) but we thought Gran Ventana was the best!!!

We stayed in Puerto Plato. The resort is a complete rip off. Do not buy anything in the shops here and save your cash for the airport. The shops are nice and clean however there view point is that if you are staying in all inclusive resorts you are fair game for a paying well over the odds. The restaurants and bars are equally overpriced, two steak dinners with 1 cocktail and 1 beer cost us £89!!! That's without the starter and dessert. You are not allowed into other hotels within the resort at all so if you fancy a change forget it as they simply do not allow you entry, if you are approached on the street to gain entry don't go as they are timeshare reps. Overall clean, expensive and a bit of a waste of time.

There isnt a great deal to do once your out of the hotel.
There is the Plaza and the beach-unless you go on the excursions.
I did the banana republic catamaran booked at the Plaza for 50$ each and we had a brill time.
