We have stayed in the Portobello two years on the trot both with times First Choice. When we got there this year we were put on the top floor with a sloping roof which was disgusting we had 2 children with us. We asked to be moved but were told there was nothing else available. When we got up the next day we went to see the reservations manager who was very nice and moved us to the ground floor. If they hadn't moved us the room was that bad we were prepared to go to a different hotel or go home.
I will be going back to the Portobello next year because I can't fault anything else about it but not with First Choice.

Stayed in the new apartments they are excellent and beautiful inside with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms plus enough space in sitting area for dinig table and chairs lovely view overlooking the pool and were cleaned to a high standard.

On arrival we were very pleased as we had the new apartments, which were very clean the hotel staff were very kind and helpfull.
The pool side was always kept clean the pools were also checked many times a day.
The entertainment was more geared up for the children which in its self was handy at keeping the kids of your case,there are also shops within the hotel jewellers/hair dressers these guys are great,also was the girls running the little shop.
For trips walk down to Oscar and Harley,for your food go to Aloha restaurant my favourite choice as they dont pester you to eat in as all the others do this is quite annoying.
I advise the jeep saffari but make sure you all take water guns or you'll end up soaked,also boat trips.
On the whole a very satisfying holiday indeed,i will definetly go back to this resort,thanks to shelly and all the staff at Portobello for a great holiday and thanks to all the staff at Aloha restaurant/Aloha hair dressers /oscar harvey trips shaggy trips turkey is very pleasant with stunning veiws

Wow what a holiday it was at the portobello apatrments. It was fabulous everything u want when you go on holiday you got at portobello. We were in the new area which was fabulous, it was clean fresh and the maids never stopped working.
100% clean. The staff were lovely too, really friendly and couldnt do enough for you. The hotel location was lovely, it wasn't far from the beach or the shops and resturants but it wasnt in the centre so it was peaceful at night which was great!
The food was lovely, you didnt need to eat there if you didnt want to but the weekly barbecue was a good reason to stay and eat there!!!! Great stuff!!!

We stayed here last year first impressions we wanted to move but after a day we decided it was only a room it was so small but it was clean and the cleaners were lovely.
My advice is take pop up carriers because there really is no wardrobe space, everything else was great.
Staff were lovely complex great we loved it make the most off it your holiday is over too soon its a great place going again in 6 weeks can't wait.

This hotel was the best one I've been to since I've traveled to Turkey there is lots of things to do and the super market is just five miniutes away and the beach is just down the road
The hotel is nice and clean and the pool is big and also clean it has shoots going down into the swimming pool four the kids and there is two swimming pools
The hotel has a jewelers, hair dressers, a mini super market and a laundrette.
I would defo recommend this hotel it was the best hotel I've been to in Turkey.

My daughter and I stayed at the Portobello Appts from 14-21 June 04. We found the room to be quite basic, but then we were staying in one of the older appartments and although also noisy it was adequate for our needs. We discovered once there that if you travel with First Choice then you will be allocated an older appt, whereas other travel companys have the newer appartments which are lovely and have more modern conveniences ie toaster, proper kettle etc.
The pool areas (all five of them) were kept extremely clean and all of the bars, restuarants, walkways etc were always immaculate. However it is very very slippery by all of the pools and there were numerous times when my daughter, even when treading carefully, slipped over.
The food, service and staff was brilliant - and cheap. The staff were always polite and friendly and at times quite entertaining! The evening entertainment I'd say was quite basic but the kids really enjoyed the mini disco at 9.00 and we really enjoyed the break-dancers.
I'd definitly come back to this hotel again, although Id maybe book with another company next time as there was no childrens club with First Choice - although with the brilliant water slides etc my little girl was kept busy most of the day.

We stayed in the Portobello 18th June - 1 July 2004.
7 Adults and 6 kids. We stayed in the new section of the complex, which we un-aware of when we booked, but did come as a pleasant suprise. We had 3 apartments between us,which were all lovely. The new section had only been open for 8 months so the the facilities were more or less brand new. The apartments were modern, clean, spacious, air conditioned and of a very high standard. We were all very impressed and pleased that we had not been allocated the older section of the complex. There were 5 pools, all of which were very clean, however, 3 out of the 6 kids developed ear infections 1 of which required hospital treatment.
All the staff were extremely helpfull and very pleasant. As we left the complex most nights it was'nt a problem, but the evening entertainment was fairly poor as was the day, although, the slides did seem to keep the kids quiet and the adults too!
I would highly recommend the new section of these apartments, but not if you dont like kids. Our 2nd week was noticably busier with kids, not a problem for us as we had 6 with us anyway, but if you're a couple looking for peace and quiet I'd either go earlier in the season or find other apartments. That said, I loved it and would definately go back if I was to return to Marmaris.

our hotel was disgusting and filthy.the cleaner never cleaner the room properly for about 3 days at a time and the brochure says that the rooms are suposed to be cleaned everyday.we were also on the 2nd floor with a baby so we could not use the balcony at all.our room was very standard and basic, when we looked in other rooms we realised that it was not really aceptable for a 3 star apartment.
