We went to turkey on the 17th June for 1 week. I didnt really know what to expect as this was my first time to turkey but i can say that i would go back every year. The portebello had everything you could possibly need.
The room was nice, the food was nice, the pool was excellent, the people were lovely. I would give this complex 10 out of ten everytime.
Turkey is such a lovely place too. The hotel is 2 mins away from the beach where all the night life is. There are hundreds or bars. We particulary liked Turtles.
I recommend this hotel to anyone. Its great!!

Portobello is an Excellent hotel, it is really good for children. The staff were brilliant and were very good with the children.
In the new block the rooms were the best I had ever stayed in, in a hotel. We had two bedrooms two bathrooms, and I Living area by Kitchen. With cooking appliances and T.V with satelite.
The hotel had two supermarkets,hairdresses,gift shop and jewelery shop too. The hotel slides and 5 pools were enjoyable for the children as well as adults!
Overall this holiday is one of my best. This hotel basiclly serves for children.

I have been looking at some of the comments made on these Apartments. I think it is a disgrace how you can bring these apartments down, I think when you travel to Turkey, you have to travel with an open mind. For a start it is a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, it is not like Spain or Portugal, it is BASIC !!! and I think if the owners ever seen this, they would be much offended. I have been to this apartments three times, and my parents have been twice, and in our eyes, you cannot beat the staff, food and location, so I really think before you but this hideous comments on there, just think, are you expecting too much out of your Holiday, it certainly sounds like it to me....
Anyway these Apartments are the best apartments I have ever stayed in, in the whole of Europe, so please ignore the nasty comments that are already in view.
Please note, there also is a late checkout room available for hire with showers!!!! and there is room to store your luggage, even of there wasn't, the Turkish people are the friendliest and most honest people I have ever met, and they would steal from us English.

Lorna, mags, shirley and i were in the older part of the hotel. with 4 in our party (all female)the rooms were very basic i.e one mirror between 4 girls trying to get ready at night! the maid service was regular although toilet rolls were few and far between!
we couldn't have asked for the staff to be any friendlier. in all areas of the hotel, bar, shops and reception. the bar staff were very entertaining with their dancing around both day and night!
we found the entertainment geared towards the children and families but good to start the night off before heading to the beach.
the hotel location was perfect and in the centre for everything!
overall a brilliant holiday!

Portobello Apartments are great for adults and children all the staff are polite and helpful.
We had the maid in every day and could the fault the cleaning.
Apartments are pretty basic but at the end of the day you are on hoilday and the way I look at it you only sleep in it, as there is so much to do outside we were never in.
Reggie the barber was great.
We enjoyed it that much we are going back this September to the same place can't wait to get there.

The Portobello is the best hotel in Marmaris, it has everything, including waterslides. It is very clean. The maids come in almost everyday and clean everywhere including change of bedding.
The donner and chicken kebabs sold and lunch times by the pool are very nice and good value.
The hotel is only a 5 min walk to the main strip where there are a wide selection of bars and restaurants.
The hotel staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The hair dressers on site are great, always up for a laugh. The family who own the hotel are very pleasant. They have entertainment almost every night, great for children especially. They have snake shows, fire shows etc.

The hotel was amazing. We met lots of friends there whom we are still in contact with today.
The staff kept everyone entertained with their dancing routines and were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Although the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the shops and bars the walk from the hotel to the shops is very dark especially at night as there is very few or no street lights.
Overall the holiday is a good laugh especially for children and teenagers and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I found this a lovely place to stay and we are going again with even more friends and family because we liked it so much. It was clean, the food was lovely and the hotel was just on the edge of the busy town which had a lot of night life. Everyone was friendly and the maid even left us some fresh flowers on our pilow and bed, it was beautiful.

We have stayed at Portobello Appartments on two occasions, we are going back in June 2005, these appartment are very good, you can eat on the complex and the food is very nice, the appartments are cleaned every day by friendly helpful staff, take time to greet your maid and tip at the end of your stay if you can they are very grateful and earn little money. If you travel with First Choice then your air conditioning is included in the price where you have to pay
