We stopped in the new block (k). The rooms were great we had a 2 bedroom with 2 showers. TV, hair driers, kettle. Can't fault the rooms at all. Air con was a rip off as you ended up paying double for the 2 rooms =

The Club Portobello is great. Anyone would enjoy their time there.

The hotel is lovely and clean and on the time of your arrival the hotel staff make you feel very welcome.

The food is lovely we went self catering and I would recommend the Yatees to anyone who is going to Turkey.

The hotel is situated in a lovely area as well the people are very nice.

The hotel staff are brilliant the people by the bar, the maids, the hairdressers and the people in the jewellers are all very nice.

The entertainment is also brilliant for people of all ages. I would definitely visit the Portobello again.

We stayed in Portobello apartments we arrived at 3.00am on tuesday morning we checked in at the reception but they had put us in the wrong rooms we wanted ground floor but they put us in 3rd and 4th floor we wasnt happy but we just got on with it.

The entertainment was alright but not enough things to do for the younger ones. The bar staff were really friendly and got on with their work.

I did not like the food outside the resort so I just ate inside the resort but I must admit the food was really nice in the resort at the Big Fingers restaurant the one near the new block of apartments.

The only trouble is you have to get up at about 6.30am to get the sunbeds because they are all gone by 7.00am.

However, I really enjoyed it and will be returning next year round about the same time as I did this year.

We arrived at Portobello at 12.30 on Thursday night we were put in the old block in a roof top aparment which wasn't very good as the man who we was with was 6 foot so we was asked to move. We payed some extra money to be moved to the new block which was heaven it was very spacious and clean.

The food at Big Fingers wasn't that exciting but you could eat it, the staff was fantastic they all worked very hard but still tried to entertain you as much as possible. Id like to say hello to Patrick and Saygin they were brilliant.

The hotel had entertainment on everynight and were always fantastic. I would definately go back here I am planning on going back in 2 years when I am older.

The location of the hotel was quite away from things but enjoyed the walk and oce you got into the own it was brilliant

The only advise I can give you about this hotel is to pay when you book for the block you will be amazed how nice they actually are.

Arrived at the Portobello at about 3 in the morning put in block D which was very basic but as we never spent that much time in there it was ok.

All we complained about was lack of a toaster but the Thomson rep didn't want to know and turned out to be a waste of space.

If your going to this hotel blocks k&l are the better ones. We had a maid in everyday and she was fantastic as were most of the staff although beware of some bar staff who once they think they know you, try a little poncin / free drinks etc.

The hotel is very lively and the pools, slides bars and restaurants along with the daytime entertainment are good. Although the pool perimeters are marble and slippery and sharp edged so take care. There were also some cases of ear infection which I suffered a little bit with myself but my wife & kids were fine. If you want a poolside sunbed you have to be in them by 7am so set your alarm clocks but there is a big lawn area if you oversleep.

Can't comment to much on the evening shows as we went out & about but by all accounts it's very good, also the pool bars stay open till around 4 am, for all the night owls who want a night cap.

Recommend the Thomson introductory morning {it's a freebie) as you get to spend a few hours on a boat chilling on the sun deck touring the Marmaris coast and they let you dive in for a swim it's very good so just ignore the initial book a trip jargon grab a sun lounger and relax.

All the food in the hotel is very good recommend the daytime barbie by the pool its the real deal and well priced.

Everybody we spoke with were friendly and having a good time also the drabber apartments are getting an upgrade so we were told. All in all a good hotel for a family holiday both ourselves and the kids made friends and enjoyed our 2 week stay and yes I would return.

Second time in Turkey,1st time in Portobello.

We Travelled with Thomson and put in the new block, which was very nice, the complex was very big, infact to big.

The staff were very nice & friendly but got a bit cheeky nere the end of our 2 weeks stay. Entertainment was ok,but give the Turkish night a miss. The food is all spicy & no good for kids, and go to the toilet when the belly dancers & break dancers have finished or you will be skint..

Pools were excellent!!..but we noticed one thing, they were not as clean as they appeared,as I developed a ear infection & had to go to hospital with a

Plus points well the weather was nice. Stayed on a s/c basis in one of the First Choice superior apartments in H block.

On arrival we were dropped at the front of the hotel and from there we had to walk down a load of steps with all our luggage. Past 2 pools to the second reception area. Let me tell you after a night flight and a 2 hour bus trip having to carry all your luggage 200 meters in that heat is not an ideal first impression.

We were then shown to our room where we were impressed with what we found, a good sized apartment with nice kitchen area and bathroom, a nice bedroom with 2 single beds and a double bed next to the kitchen table? We then opened up the patio doors and had a nice pool view over looking the main bar and pool areas but the rubber gasket holding the glass in was the wrong size and it just falls out all the time.

When flushing the toilets do not stand in front of the pan or the contents will spray over you due to the design of the toilet and the power of the flush so please stand to one side.

Remove all adaptor plugs from sockets carefully cause if you pull to hard the whole socket will come of the wall.

The apartments were cleaned daily but we were only supplied with half a roll of toilet roll between 4 of us for 2 weeks.

The best bar is the one at the front of the complex where Tommy and Poppa will look after you and you should sample their steak special where they will cook it by the side of your table one of the best steaks you will have.

Sampled the hotel entertainment one night but it was rubbish.

This complex is huge and if you have young children with you, you will have to watch them like hawks because it is easy for them to get lost.

If you want a sunbed you will have to get up at 6 in the morning to get one otherwise forget it.

Now I am not trying to put anybody of but this is a huge busy complex and if you want a peaceful holidays this is the wrong place to go. We were kept awake until 5 in the morning on a few occasions with people drinking at the bars and the doors are thin you can here everything. So my advice is not to go with First Choice and change if possible to Thompson because their accommodation block is ten times better than the First Choice ones. We spent all our time with friends next door in the Alize where the difference is vast and the Alize was cheaper accommodation.

The location is good and it is only a 5 min walk to the beach and bars there is a fast and dangerous road at the front of the complex so keep an eye on your little ones because the pavement is only narrow and there are plenty of trip hazards but that is the same on all pavements in Marmaris.

So to sum it all up don

I stayed in Portabella apartments with my mam, dad and my 13 year old daughter.
We stayed in K block which was the new end.
We had a two bedroom apartment with double bed and en-suite. Bedroom with three single beds in it, seperate bathroom. Large kitchen area. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We looked out onto the waterslides.

We had a cleaner every day, but she only did the basics. You are only supplied with one toilet roll so have to buy your own.

It is a big complex, very family orientated. There is always something going on.

In the morning you are lucky to get a sunbed, everyone must be down at the crack of dawn.

After a twelve hour journey altogether arrived at apartments 4.30 pm, met by porters who took us in lift to our room. Were very pleasently surprised, big lounge area, a double bed in one bedroom! 3 singles in other for the kids, 2 bathrooms with hairdryers!, 2 showers 1 small bath. kitchen area not huge. Sandwich maker, kettle, two ring hob, big fridgefreezer. Maids everyday, only 1 toilet roll in each bathroom for the 2 weeks.

Staff very friendly, we didn't stop in much for the evening entertainment preferring to go out. Our only complaint was if you got up after 7am you had no chance of getting a sunbed!

All in all an excellent holiday quite busy, lots of different nationalities, lots of swimming pools and things to do.
