Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

The rooms were basic but kept very clean, with linen changed on a daily basis.
The animation team worked very hard playing games during the day and entertaining in the evening although the evening entertainment could have been better.
The beach was a short walk away from the hotel and very rocky but very clean.
The pools were lovely and the children and ourselves thoroughly enjoyed joining in the games of water polo throughout the day.
The staff at the hotel were all fantastic could have met nicer people.
We would definately visit this resort again.

We would definately recommend Protaras.
We returned again in 2004, and are planning our wedding their in sept 2006.

Really good resort.
Do not book any thing through the reps as you can get it all for half the price on the street.
The best restaurant we found was the only Mexican - brilliant. We also had a meze in the restaurant next door to the hotel. Be prepared it can take all night to eat , but was spot on.

Lovely, lots to do, by going to protaras you can avoid the hustle and bustle of ayia napa but still get lots of restraunts, bars and entertainment available.

The beach was outstandingly clean as well as the roads etc,
there was so much to do including every sport, beautiful beaches and the great life of the cypriots, the food service was very good having all the same food as we do here (uk) including Mcdonalds, kfc, and many other top bars restaurants.
p.s. visit Knights bar its excellent.

It is situated approx. 3miles away from the centre of Protaras which can be reached by a 25 min walk, by bus 50 cents, or taxi CY£3.50. In the immediate area out side the hotel there are 2 supermarkets, a selection of bars shops and restaurants. This is a very safe area and the added bonus for teenagers is that many parents let them go to the Station pub or Wakiki bar where they could play snooker/pool and play on the games machines (20cents where as it was 50c per game at the hotel). We had a meal at Chopsticks restaurant, which is highly recommended, as is Christina’s and the Italian restaurant.

I love the resort of Pernera, near protaras..............so much so i am going again.
The area of pernera is about 15 mins walk from protaras, that area is more noiser, more clubs, pubs, and bars. We went to protaras most nights, crazy golf, shopping etc. The gifts you buy are cheaper in pernera than protaras. The beaches in protaras are packed every day. Would I go to this hotel again, then yes I would, but not in the year 2002, as the First choice rep told us that they are building a hotel opposite, so could be dirty and noisey. Also this hotel the pernera beach is being upgraded to a 4*, well worth it, great area, all entertainment in this area finishes at 12 midnight, so a good night sleep.....
If you want an area that has lots going on, and can sleep at night, but have the option of walking to protaras or taxis to Ayia Napa then this is the place. it is the most friendly place i have been too and fantastic for families and young small children. The sea has hardly any waves, thus making it extremely safe as it isnt deep at the edges.
Also souvenir shopping is cheaper in Pernera than in Protaras, so an added bonus. There are plenty of trips and atm and banks for exchange of money.

this will be our fourth year going back to cyprus, and our third time to protaras, have stayed in the brillant, the lantiana and this year 2004 is the capo bay.
Love the retuarants the food the only fools and horses bar and the people are just great.

The town centre of Protaras is a 15 minute walk and a 5 minute taxi drive away. The shops are just the usual souvenir sort of stuff and are quite expensive although you get the odd bargin for example in the leather shops and jewellery shops are cheaper than home and shopping in Protaras also gets you socialising with the locals who are exremly friendle, lovely people!
The resort was nice, a bit quiet but we did go in sept, beaches very clean,we had a car so we travelled around a lot and would definately go back to Penara, but stay in a smaller apt block such as the Louma apts.
