Best steak house TEX MEX or the American Indian who do a steak in Jack Daniels sauce. Chinese food try The Sunshine. Indian try the one near crazy golf on the front. If you want fish go to old town where the fish come right of the boat into the pan.

Try for South facing appartment. Food in onsite bar is good but loads of local restaurants are a short walk away

If you are visiting during the winter months then ask reception for extra warm blankets for the cold nights and also ask for the WiFi code ....
Plenty of food places to try although buffet places charge high costs on soft drinks with your meal ..

If you go at a quiet time, the outskirts of the strip are okay, but then it is a good walk to get to the main strip/beach in Puerto. Prices expensive now with the exchange rate. One way system nearly complete, probably by Summer 2009 it may be all done. The front is being made into one long promenade. Plenty of Restaurants and bars, not that much good entertainment at this time of year-March 2009. Main beach okay, but I would not rate them as great.

As mentioned in the main review, Puerto Del Carmen is a mess at the moment with roadworks along the front. There will be an extended walking area, a cycle track and one-way traffic through from the old town to Los Picollos. It will look wonderful when its finished.

Main seafront is undergoing major roadworks at the moment so the place is a bit of a mess but judging by the completed parts it will look fine once completed. No shortage of Irish bars or restaurants, prices average. Weather great for most of the week.

Puerto del Carmen is a fantastic holiday destination, hundreds of bar and restaurants are along the main strip and into the old town. The pavements can be a bit on the dangerous side but there is always entertainment around. The beasches are absolutely amazing and we will definately be returning to Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote - its our second home!

i am goin back to lanzarote in dec 09 for new year but we are going to costa tequise this time.i would go back to peurto del carmen but not the plaza palmeras.

although the resort is undergoing major roadworks this does not stop you fom enjoying puerto del carmen road works should be complete early june 2009
it is reasonably flat so ideal for wheelchairs etc. plenty of good resturants and bars, night clubs, has everthing you want for a enjoyable holiday

easy walk into the old town, many places for eating around the harbour, much work being carried, lots of shops level walking and nice views towards the sea nice sunsets overall a good place for a holiday

whole main road dug up so inconvenient for taxis. main strip will be great when it is done but v messy meanwhile.

The resort of Puerto del Carmen is a sprawling mix of mainly Irish bars, Sports bars and bars blaring out loud music or burger and pizza restaurants. However, there are still some traditional bars and restaurants that serve very good food and drink - these are well worth seeking out.
The resort was as clean as it was possible to be whilst major excavations of the main road and pavements were underway. As mentioned, the entertainment was the same to be found in any English town. Rather tacky!
The beach was clean and pleasant with sunbeds and parasols on hire at 4 euros per day.

unfortunately when we were there, there was road works nearly all the way along the main road, looks like it had been there some time, and was going to be there for a few more months yet, not to much of a problem but made the resort look a little scruffy! Bars and restaurants were good, with some excellent value for money. Just make sure you hire a car and go up to Timanfaya national park you will not be disappointed.
