All rooms are good, but the pool side is best. the hotel food is very good and has a great choice to choose from.

We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

Keep away please.
No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby

If you want cheap beer approx 50pence a large beer, sandy beaches, crystal clear and warm seas, bars and restaurants then this is the place for you.
Food is reasonably pricesd eg steaks were no more than 15 pounds burgers and kebabs were 3 pounds or less. most evening meals with one drink cost about 20 pounds for 2.
Be prepared from hassle from restaurants and bars touting for custom. We were stopped 3 times for the same restaurant!
Only change your money in your hotels or at Crown booths. Someone was ripped off at one of the other exchange kiosks.
There are atm machines which are ok.

We stayed in Sunny Beach and this was our first time to Bulgaria, in fact the first time we had been abroad as a family.
The resort was excellent and extremely clean. Some poorer conditions on the outskirts but no more so than any other place I have visited and it certainly did not take anything away from the holiday.
Loads of shops, market stalls, restaurants, pubs to choose from. Djanny's Restaurant on the outskirts of the resort centre provided excellent food choice and is extremely cheap.
The beach was fantastic. First beach I have been on outside the UK where beach vendors took no for an answer and did not continually bother you.
Great holiday. Very cheap however don't know how the introduction of the Euro in 2010 will effect that.

The resort of sunny Beach is spotless, though I only went on the beach at the start of holiday. couldn't visit again due to my daughter in a wheel chair.
We made a lot of friends there, most were on the doors trying to get you in though a lot were just happy to chat and make a fuss of the children.
The beach standard, was superb, absolutely spotless.

It is not just the beer that is cheap. Most things are a lot cheaper than in the UK if you stay clear of imported brands. It does get more expensive in the centre of the resort, but plenty of food places, pubs, and shops/markets outwith the centre with some great bargains. I re-iterate that Djanny's restaurant is extremely cheap, plenty of good food to choose from and staff are really friendly. Careful if buying fruit in the markets because they weigh everything and price accordingly and we got ripped off. McDonalds is more expensive there than in UK so don't go to rely on that !!!
There are begging kids from time to time, but contrary to what other reviewers experienced, we found that a firm 'No' or 'Neh' and they do leave you alone.

sunny beach was great, plenty of bars and restaurants. by the end of the 2 weeks the staff trying to get you to drink/eat in their establishment was getting a little annoying, but nowhere near as aggressive as other countries these days. everything was really cheap drinks, food etc and there was a really good atmosphere around the place. i found the bulgarians really pleasant, and they were extremely accomodating

Sunny beach has something for everybody. Lots of lively bars and a couple of clubs. Lots of nice restaurants, karaoke bars and chilled out bars. Also plenty of shops which are very cheap!

the resort is massive and lively. loads o shops bars n resteraunts. realy good holiday feel to sunny beach, i feel we only scraped the surface of sunny beach, at 80p a pint cocktails at 2 pound and meals for 8 with 2 rounds o drinks for arond 38-40 quid you cant go wrong. the water parks are a must but some are better than others the one at the back of sun village is the best one. the bar touts are friendly and funny great with the kids djannys is a great place to eat, about a ten minute walk. just needs more entertainment for kids at nights to put the icing on the cake. its not like being in spain you cant get english fish n chips and a proper cuppa its got a proper abroad feel to it. nessabar is a must as well at night its lovely. 1 lev 10 min bus ride. hope you ejoy it as much as we did..

The area is opening up with a new hotel just opened next to Yalta and more opening in the next few months. Get the best of both worlds, peace and quiet one way and hustle and bustle the other. We had a great holiday going the noise of Sunnybeach one night and tranquility of St Vlas the next. Further down the complex is nicer with fantastic views and private pool, only as much noise as you wish to make.

SunnyBeach is reasonably clean The entertainment mmm Why do bar persons assume every one likes dance club music they are driving people out of the bars, The promenade, while being civilized during the day, is, at night full of under twenty year old drunks so to find a calmer surround move further back away from the sea. The beach is completely full of £7 sun beds & brollys and is very busy

A lovely beach, but quite expensive - 7 lev each to hire sunbeds and parasols. Not so many beggars this year, although the children di come round the pools in the hotels so be wary if leaving valuables etc by pool area.
Because the food in the hotel was so poor, we ate out quite often and we recommend both the Brothers Bar and the Jim Beam Bar.
If you fly with Balkan Holidays Airline don't both to buy a meal - they are terrible and cost £15 each, each way! Also, there is now no facilities to get anything to eat at Bourgas Airport, which when you are being picked up at 4 am in the morning, is an issue. this, together with the fact that some of the staff in the duty free shop just sat there until a long queue, sums up Bulgaria now - a lack of customer focus - I think is the way I would describe it.
