Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

We were really shocked by the amount of plastic and rubbish all over the beach. Even though there are bins there is no clean up going on and the most of the people who use the beach don't use the bins. My kids were so upset by it that they tried an impossible job of trying to clean the beach for them selves. The authorities really need to ban all plastic on the beach as people can not be trusted. We found four shells beach combing through hundreds of straws looking through the litter when beach coming is now the norm here.

Very clean resort with lovely traffic free promenade with lots of fountains and gardens. We managed to see the main fountain with lights and music but it wasn't working later in the week, even though lots of people were waiting around for it to start.

We really enjoyed Salou in all. There are some great restaurants (such as the Mexican restaurant on the lit up shopping strip and a pretty great pizza place) as well as numerous cocktail bars and clubs. The shopping is pretty touristy but we didn't expect it to be anything else.
The club promoters can be a little annoying bombarding you at every chance and arguing over you but as girls we were able to get into every club free and we also were given free shots in most of them.
If your out late at night just be careful... A group of guys did try and steal a nag (unsuccessfully) and the guys in general can get a little rough.
The beach can be pretty busy but its clean and the water is amazing. There are loads of things to do around the beach area such as pedalos and hang gliding.
Portaventura is a mere ten minute walk (or there's buses and trams to take you)and is well worth a visit. We spend two days there and had a brilliant time!

La Pineda is a lovely quiet little resort close to the bustle of Salou. Lovely beaches where the words "A Chill Out Holiday" really means what it says. Beaches are wide, clean and provide safe bathing for all ages. Some great places to eat too although a little more expensive than in Salou itself. The ideal location for relaxation for both couples and families alike. This resort would not be suitable for the all night Disco crowd.

The resort is lovely, very clean and the fountain is fab. Not a lot of traditonal entertainment, which was a shame. The bars in the old town are best (if you want to get away from tv!)

Excellent location for families. 10-15min walk to Aquapolis. Nice man made more locals beach
Turn left out the hotel and walk towards La pineda, for the friendly, courtious staff at The Dubliner. Excellent deal on 9.90E for steak,chips,salad and local drink. Plus they can do a rare steak!! Good food and quality!
Bus prices are expensive, so definetely get a planna cards from the kiosk by Sun Club (Turn right and short walk down the hill) apartments.
The market (FRIDAYS) in La Pineda is cheap. Follow the road down the near side of aquapolis, keep going as it is quite hidden.

vilafortuny is a lovely resort, salou is just up the road. so you did not have far to walk. yes i would go back here.

The beach was cleaned every night.
There is every kind of entertainment you need,from bingo to disco's.

Had enough to do in hotel so just had few visits to resort itself, plenty to do in Salou and easy to reach other resorts for day visits
